Just hiring the serial killer as a profiler, doesn't the police has their own experts?? This show is perplexing
It's not they don't have, it's because the serial killer is a copycat.

It is actually common for authorities consulting the original serial killer when dealing with copycats. The thing with serial killers is that you need to be on the same wavelength as them. If you're not a serial killer or you're not willing, you won't be able to think like them.

Professional profilers use science and logic. Serial killers are either psychopaths, mentally unstable, or emotionally damaged. Actually, the best professional profilers are the ones who are like serial criminals or willing to put themselves in their shoes.

There's a common proverb that psychopaths and geniuses are simply two sides of the same coin. It has been proven scientifically that it is literally true. A genius is simply a term we use for psychopaths who use their in-born talent for good. While a psychopath is a term we use for geniuses who use their in-born talent for evil.

So, in a way, it is indeed possible they don't have enough profilers so they consult with the original. Not every genius/psychopath works as a profiler after all. And if you decided to do good, you definitely want to stay away from criminals because you know the line is very thin towards the other side of that coin.

And if they're the same coin, then who best to consult than the original? They're as good as any other profiler, without paying fees. 😉

Title Mantis
It tried to be «Wanted» + «Kill Bill» + «Kingsmen» + «John Wick» so it ended with a plot that was all over the place and very shallow. Barely halfway through, I was already asking what in the world I'm wasting my time on. Past the halfway point, I wanted to drop it but I want to rate it fairly by finishing it. So, 5 ⭐ only. It would have been a 4 but it's +1 for the effort in trying to create a mashup of four Western films. 😁

I actually had the impression that the final scene is inspired by a popular romcom movie, but the title that crossed…
Was?

But, yes, it is more likely a trope in Western romcoms.

the room neighbour yu ran died after she met se ra, otherwise she couldn't even met her, in the 2nd accident happened…
Who knows?

There are people who do leave a place of death empty for a certain period.

Or, it could be a police request. (IIRC, it was the police who cleaned her room.)

Or, no one wants to stay on the room where someone died.

But, regardlessf the reason why no one rented that room, the fact remains that she died before Episode 1. And SeRa only imagined her the entire series. 😉

And if they’re going to make an international series, please don’t only limit to USA. I need to see diversity…
With the premise that there's a global catastrophe that is about to happen, it definitely must be diverse.

If possible, multiple spin-offs to tell stories from various Borderland locations.

For real.. they should keep the asian shows to asia, like US can make their own show, can't they?
An adaptation is not "giving".

We Asians have been adapting Western shows since live-action filming started. It is very rare for Westerners to take interest in adapting Asian shows.

So, in certain cases, we welcome Western production companies making an adaptation of Asian shows.

There are very few Asian shows which were adapted in the West but there are far too many Western shows adapted here Asia.

> like it'll literally called western show no credit for the original country

I'm not sure where this is coming from but it is not true. Under the Berne Convention, everyone is obligated under Copyright laws to give proper and clear credits to the source material.

So, even if Squid Game or Alice in Borderland or whatever is adapted by another country, it is mandatory to include credits to the original.

Adaptations are normal in the industry. However, it is often Western works that are adapted in Asia. Hence, as an Asian myself, it is welcome news to see Asian works adapted in the West. Aed hopefully with good quality.

The easiest question in E02 was the population.Even if you're not sure, it's easy to spot that it was a trick…
Another thing. I don't know if it's the same in Japan but the mathematics question was an easter egg to all the Order of Operations memes online. 🤪

The writer was like, "This is a tribute to everyone debating about the Order of Operations."

The IQ test in E02 was so hilarious.
The easiest question in E02 was the population.

Even if you're not sure, it's easy to spot that it was a trick question. Just answer 8 billion. And if we assume that it's 2024 then yes, truly 8 billion.

Another clue, the number 8. It is a very good number. In a game setting like that, the meaning behind numbers is a potential factor. It didn't ask for the population randomly, it was there to test their intelligence.

(Yes, yes, the writer said 7.9 so they have a reason to fire 100M arrows. Hahahaha)

Actually, most of them got wrong answers it was so funny. The other players already gave the correct answer, and they still picked the wrong answer. One player even reasoned, "I picked the middle number!" Like, LOLWTFBBQ?!! Majority said the same answer, only a few said the other answer. So the player picked the "middle". 🤪

I can't stop laughing during that shrine IQ test.

But hey, in fairness, the milk question was totally a difficult one. Only farmers would know the answer to that, and those who loves to play trivia games. At least for that one the player is justified.

what do you mean collab ? like a new series similar to squid game reboot ?
In the ending of S03 they switched to the US and the final scene was a female character named "Alice".

It is not going to be a reboot, it will be a continuation or spin-off. The US teaser was directly connected to what the Watcher said about and the earthquakes.

It is different from Squid Games where the story is simply another rich guy who set up his own Squid Games.

Hello everyoneI will give you my opinionon this...I think we can all agree, that this season wasn't as good as…
Bold statement there!

> I think we can all agree, that this season wasn't as good as season 1 or 2.

I, for one, disagree. S3 was the best. It surpassed S2 and S1 combined. The games alone were amazing and thrilling. It was also more focused. Even the flow of the storytelling was woven properly from one group to the other.

And that's just the beginning of the good things about S03. 😉

Fr.. finished it and I would say I didn't hate that guy but doesn't like him too, like bro was into what?? die…
Nope. He jumped to his death.

When you die in the borderland, you go to the afterlife.

Nope.

What you said was this:

> For real.. they should keep the asian shows to asia, like US can make their own show, can't they?

Emphasis on "Should keep the asian shows to asia" and "US can make their own show".

What I said was to let them make a Western adaptation of Asian shows.

why only 6 not 8 episodes ??
The length of each episode practically gave it 10 episodes. In S1 it was 40 minutes each. IIRC, S2 had 50 to 60 each. S3 ran 75–85 from E02 to E06.

Nope. It's about time Asian shows are adapted in the West. We Asians have been making adaptations of Western shows since live-action films started. Don't stop us Asians from conquering the Western world.

Season 1 to Season 3. Is there anything to say about this live-action adaptation other than “it is infinitely better than «Squid Games»”?

And the S03 fan service, I love that one. Unfair but it was great. 😆

Trivia: The conference scene was probably inspired by a scene in the global hit RomCom, «Notting Hill». It was…
So for those who weren't born yet or too young to have watched it, give Notting Hill a try while My Troublesome Star is still fresh in your mind. You won't regret it.

We were only both 17 and entering our 2nd year college when we watched it in the cinema—with my Grade 9 (3rd year high school) girlfriend (we're entering our 2nd year anniversary too). It was a global romcom hit.
