Thank you for this. This gives me closure so I wonβt overthink the ending for the next one weekβ¦π€Έπ»
Yeah, you'll lose a lot of sleep. π
You can twist it. It probably took him a while to travel because the torn page required the correct timing. Maybe another blood moon. So, he learned how to cook by himself.
So, when he reached the future, he at least already knows how to cook by himself.
Maybe, he also thought of securing jewels in safe place so he can dug it up in the future. Since he witnessed the magic of the book, he knew he has to prepare for the future. And the best way is to store artifacts and sell it in the future. π
So, when he gets there, it was easy for him to move around. LOL. He basically avoided getting locked up in an asylum. π
Really?According to my SIMKL account I watched 900 movies. And that is only those I remembered, not counting those…
Ok, fair enough. But most of the active ones here in MDL are younger than you and me, so it's impossible they've watch as many films like the two of us. And besides, it doesn't mean they haven't watched a reasonable amount of movies to not tell what is good and what is bad.
I do find it bad. The story is everywhere. It tried to combine aspects of Wanted, Kingsmen, John Wick, and Kill Bill, or at least was inspired by those. Because of it, there were too many elements that the story went everywhere.
Lol. That reminded me of Everywhere, Everything All At Once or something. Majority praised it but for me it was bad as well. For that one, the execution was the biggest issue not the story. For Mantis, it's the story, the acting were good.
Another example. Squid Game. It lacks depth and story. They just want to kill. But compare that to Alice in Borderland or the film franchise Battle Royale, those have depth and stories.
It's better that people are finding things good or bad for the correct reasons. It is worse if it's rated as good or bad because their fave actors are there or they have an issue with some actor. It is rare nowadays to see feedback because of the story and execution. ππ½
It's not they don't have, it's because the serial killer is a copycat. It is actually common for authorities consulting…
Re: consultancy
Yep.
One other reason, it is dangerous to put ourselves into the shoes of serial killers. It has a psychological impact that builds up over time. Even actors are advised to go on a psych eval after taking such roles.
So, I guess it's also safer to just consult with them instead of asking someone to risk their mental state.
Luckily, serial killers are not common IRL, so it doesn't always happen (criminals also ask something in return).

Yes, she doesn't completely fit the psychopath category. For one, her actions were for a reason, which she said so herself too. She wasn't killing randomly.
Though at the same time, she enjoys the process. The thrill of knowing that you served justice and let the evil people suffer and seeing their faces filled with the knowledge that there's no escape from it.
She's not an easy one to fit in any category. She probably is a category of her own. Deeply scarred and wanting to vent out her deep anger that she realized, accidentally, the best to do it is by acting as justice herself.
You're right, she is like Batman. The only one willing to do what no one wants to do.
To those asking how the ML traveled to the future: it's the missing page.
I don't know what else to explain about that. The book is magical. Just like how the FL moved to the past and back, the ML just did.
But if you really need one, he probably cooked the meal. And when he tasted it, he imagined what her future feels like. The next thing he knows, he is in the future, in 2023 or 2024. Enough time for him to adjust and learn the future. Enough time for him to track down the book and guarantee it lands on the FL's hands.
So, when their timelines aligned, he showed up with a custom tailor made expensive coat deserving of a wise king, and he already knows his way around.
As predicted, he came to the future before she traveled back to the past. He had to wait for her timeline to align with his before he reveals himself to her.
How dod we know this? Simple. He was already accustomed and acclimated in 2025. It means that he has been living for at least a few months already, perhaps even a year or two.
Take for example, his coat and tie weren't your ordinary ones. It was clearly expensive and likely custom made. He is wealthy and knows his way around already.
And when the FL said, "You should change the way you speak". He replied, "How will I do that?" It was obvious he tried, and in the time he spent adjusting and learning about the "future", he failed changing is speech pattern. He is fully aware of it and likely people kept on asking him why he speaks that way.
I suspect that he tracked where the book was and made sure the FL gets it so she can travel back to the past.
I'd say, he has been around for 1β2 years already.
Just hiring the serial killer as a profiler, doesn't the police has their own experts?? This show is perplexing
It's not they don't have, it's because the serial killer is a copycat.
It is actually common for authorities consulting the original serial killer when dealing with copycats. The thing with serial killers is that you need to be on the same wavelength as them. If you're not a serial killer or you're not willing, you won't be able to think like them.
Professional profilers use science and logic. Serial killers are either psychopaths, mentally unstable, or emotionally damaged. Actually, the best professional profilers are the ones who are like serial criminals or willing to put themselves in their shoes.
There's a common proverb that psychopaths and geniuses are simply two sides of the same coin. It has been proven scientifically that it is literally true. A genius is simply a term we use for psychopaths who use their in-born talent for good. While a psychopath is a term we use for geniuses who use their in-born talent for evil.
So, in a way, it is indeed possible they don't have enough profilers so they consult with the original. Not every genius/psychopath works as a profiler after all. And if you decided to do good, you definitely want to stay away from criminals because you know the line is very thin towards the other side of that coin.
And if they're the same coin, then who best to consult than the original? They're as good as any other profiler, without paying fees. π

So, how many more movies should I watch to make Mantis a good movie for me?
How about you? How many movies habe you watched that you can say Mantis was a good movie? Got an online tracker somewhere to back it up?
Because, you know, if you've watched less than 900 movies, it means that you need to watch more to realise that Mantis is not good.
