I'm thinking history wrote he was assassinated but actually found a way to go to the future. But he landed in the future prior to her traveling back in the past, so he has to wait until she returns from her adventure before he can reveal himself to her.
Probably he was the one who orchestrated the book landing on her laps. π He was probably watching her and tasting her food secretly, patiently waiting for their personal timelines to match. π
Episode 08 is so far the best for me. I love the focus on cooking and less on the drama and dialogues. It's as if I'm watching a live-action adaptation of ChΕ«ka Ichiban (Cooking Master Boy).
If they can do this, they should consider creating a live-action of ChΕ«ka Ichiban.
There are restaurants that serves genuine and authentic Peking duck dishes. Like literally a duck from Beijing with ingredients from China. Too expensive though, much better if you go to China, tour, have fun, and eat there.

The only difference from what I remembered was the female cook was disowned by her uncle. In this Korean version, she apologized and was given another chance.
If there really is such a legend or famous literary work, I guess they based those scenes and exchange from that.
Anyone with information? Is there a legend or was it from a famous Chinese literary work everyone in the modern world loves to reinterpret?
