Happy Marinated Tofu Day everybody!! LOLI'm enjoying the chemistry of the cast especially the Lee Siblings aka…
Exy? She's an idol, WJSN / COSMIC Girls (10 members, originally 13). Her team mate is Bona, who is also into acting (Bona's latest show will premiere next week(?), Haunted Palace).

Exy also have another show currently airing, Heo's Diner. She's playing the main character there.

I thought I was the only one who caught Yeeun's side comment last episode. LOL, it became an issue. When she said it, I was like, "Woah, you only say that with your trusted friends and in private."

I wonder if she's starting to crack because of her intense schedule. She's going to lose projects because of it. In E746, she didn't even explain herself, make an excuse, or apologize, she just laughed at it. Even Jaesuk didn't cover for her, like in the previous episode, Jaesuk reacted strongly through a half-joke, "you should just stop everything", and in this episode he was leading her on to explain herself and apologize, or at least to make an excuse.

The other members even suddenly came in. They saved her before she made it worse. The moment they came in, they immediately switched topic. Usually, they keep talking about the same topic before they switch. And for a while there, she was rarely shown and didn't speak, someone probably talked to her or something.

It seems Yeeun is missing the hints from Jaesuk. 😅

That's the thing with variety shows, you have to be careful. Their contract probably states, "anything caught on the camera can be used even if it might affect your career", otherwise, they would not include that "burnout" side comment she did.

Yeeun, please be careful. You have anti-fans. Give them a bullet and they'll turn that into a bazooka. If you have too many projects, then slow down. Tell your manager and company about it. There are some lines that should never be crossed, and one such is publicly saying you're experiencing "burnout". While it's understandable, it can be misunderstood and taken the wrong way, especially by your haters.

Ooooh! They're going to test Daniel. About time the add another member. The most senior members are nearing retirement, they need time to train potential members in RM's style of comedy, and obviously, it's best to do it one at a time.

Kim Wonhae guarantees the show will be very funny. It was just E01 but he already used many of his signature moves/acting. ðŸĪŠðŸĪĢ

Haha, Exy is the carrier/focus this time. The way they plan shows premieres is the group together shows with an actor that appears in at least 2. It's a strategy to either boost them because they have bigger plans; or (2) if it's a veteran actor, to help boost the shows of their juniors. It looks like Exy is this round, they probably have bigger plans later.

You have to remember, this show is about life, relationships, family, and death. In other words, every character…
They did not "pick this end for him", they have a message to tell parents, and clans, who are forcing their kids to choose between them or the person they want to be with. Why? Because it is true-to-life, many have suffered, and those who chose to fight often were disowned.

If they made his "ending" as "and he lived happily ever after with another girl", then might as well turn the entire series a fairy tale.

From E01, the story is about real life, real relationships, real family dynamics, and death. Hence, they showed the nasty realities like that father with a big tummy, because that father and his type of family do exist as well; and they want to send a message.

No one said his case is hopeless. Bet you'll be doing an injustice to the many couple who went through the same thing and chose their parents. Their story aren't being told, and often dismissed as fiction. This show is a chance for their stories to be told and to tell those parents, and future parents, to f*** off.

Mind you, my ex was one who had to decide.

The drama is fictional and not based on a true story. There is no official confirmation that it was inspired by…
It doesn't matter if it was based on a true story, it cannot be denied that it was inspired by and based on true-to-life stories.

* The father with a big tummy, that type of father exists.
* The couple firced to choose between getting married or listening to their parents, it happened a lot and will continually happen.
* The ML who seems to be angel, always kind, quiet, forgiving, slow to anger, there are a lot of guys who are like him to this very day.
* The ML & FL couple who seems to "lived a fulfilled life in the end" do exist as well.
* People finding success through perseverance and diligence, there are countless stories like that.

Stories about life, relationships, family dynamics, death, won't have any impact if it was only from the imagination of an author. There are a hundred things that can only be captured by being aware of and listening to the stories of real life people. Or, by having experienced it yourself.

For example, choosing between your parents and your partner. If the author and director did not listen to people with that experience, they will never be able to recreate thost impactful dialogues and scenes. I know because I've been through it, my ex had to choose because of her mother.

That father with a big tummy acting that way. That too was true-to-life. Again, I know because I've seen my grandfather like that, practically the same dialogues and way of thinking. And if you speak about it against them, you'll only start world war 3.

It doesn't matter if it was not based on a true story because there's no denying it was inspired by true-to-life experiences.

Why do I feel like the writer knew someone who personally had an experience like this drama and a beautiful life…
Everything character and plot were no doubt inspired by and based on real stories.

A good life, relationships, family, and death stories are often based on true-to-life characters and experiences. Otherwise, if it was simply an imagination, it won't make an impact as far as the genre/topics are concerned (because it will lack many twists, dialogues, and authenticity that one only learns if they have a real source).

Apparently this is based on a real life couple. So love like that does exist. I'm shocked to say the least.
Of course.

Every character, background story, relationships, fights, ups and downs, break-ups, family dynamics, all of it were inspired by and based-on real stories and are true-to-life.

For example, choosing between your family or your partner. That happened to a lot of couples and would-have-been couples, and will continue to happen to countless more. I've been there, my ex's mother was very strict, she had to choose between her family or me, or risk disownment.

People assume disownment is a stuff of fiction. Not at all. It will continue to happen indefinitely. And disownment is not a simple thing as removal from the family tree or family registry. Depending on how influential, powerful, and well-connected, your family or clan is, disownment can mean not being able to do business or get into work in many industries and companies. Often, your best bet is to move in a country where they have less influence and connections and then change your names.

The father with a big tummy. That's based on real fathers as well. My grandfather was like him. He kept shouting to his children and his wife (my grandmother). He kept saying practically the same things this fictional father kept saying in this show.

But at the end of the day, they just don't know how to express themselves and their love. I'm not saying their method was correct, but it is what it is. And you cannot tell them that because they'll just keep shouting endlessly.

Most people dismiss it as fiction. Most people think "then tell them to stop". But it doesn't work that way, exactly as depicted in this show.

I'm actually amazed I haven't seen people complaining "why did they give him a redemption arc", well, it's not a redemption arc, it's called being real.

What else. Ahh, the ML character. Yeah, there really are people like that, and yes men too. They are so patient, quiet, forgiving, kind, it's as if they're angels. But don't cross the line.

Yes, there are also couples like the ML and FL characters. It sounds like a fairy tale, "and they lived a fruitful life". But they do exist as well.

they did Park Yeong Beom so dirty dam bro he literally did nothing wrong and they were trying to make him seem…
You have to remember, this show is about life, relationships, family, and death. In other words, every character and every plot, were inspired by true-to-life stories.

With that in mind, the answer is "no, they did not do him dirty". Why? Because it does happen in-real-life, and it did happen to countless of couples and potential couples. I had an ex, her mother was very strict, she made her choose between me or getting disowned. There were and will always be many others like what I've experienced, what my ex experienced, and what our "fictional couple" experienced.

They did not made him to look like a bad guy. They made him REAL and not some fairy tale. What happened to them in this story is called LIFE. That's just how it is.

Some will fight for their relationship, to the point that they'll accept disownment. People today assume that disownment is fiction. Not at all. It still is happening today and will continue to happen indefinitely. Disownment isn't easy. Many also assume that it simply means removal from the family tree, or family registry (in Korean legal system). Nope. Far from it. The more powerful your parents are, or your clan is, the more you feel it. The most common result of disownment is you'll be barred from many industries your parents, or clan, have a presence or connection. It actually sucks.

At least based on what they showed us, his mother is not that powerful or connected, he simply can not stomach to abandon his mother, no matter how much he started to hate her.

Or, maybe his mother is indeed influential and well-connected, otherwise, she wouldn't act that way against the FL. People who have connections and influence often acts confident and threatening because they can back it up.

Lastly, this fictional character's role in the story is simply that, to be a stepping stone for the FL to grow. The audience shouldn't feel any pity for him, he was only a side character. A plot device.

But regardless, that character and situation isn't fiction, it is true-to-life, and happened with a lot of couples or would-have-been couples.

Should I watch this? I'm an emotional person.
You can watch the way they designed it, 4 episodes per week. Don't watch it in one sitting, and don't watch more than 4 episodes per week.

They released it that way for a reason, to give people time to process 4 episodes and recover. It gets deeper every 4 episodes, especially the latter batches (E09–12 and E13–16). The last 4 is the heaviest of all.

You can further divide it, 2 episodes per week. Then give yourself 7–10 days to process and recover.

I was expecting he'll give her daughter's hand to him. But it's a different daughter, a board membership.

The Chairman is no joke. He understands the concept of value and pays it equally. Value for value. Where can I find such a company led by such a CEO?

Yep, but you know ratings, at best you'll get 5,000b worst only 10 votes.

But reputable ones are TMDB, IMDB, SIMKL. As far as I'm aware, they remove rating bombs, not like here in MDL. 🙂
