I binge watched this so I don't relate to comments saying that this was boring because for me it was small and nice. But It's not perfect and it has some major plot holes and weird shit going on, I choked on my breath at the scratching scene, how did you think of making such a scene romantic! It should be named "be scratched in house" or maybe "love at the first back scratch" This wasn't romantic, it was just funny xD I admit that it was slow-burn drama and the things I didn't like about it was probably what I found in most BL dramas that I watched so I take that as a downside of this genre in common and I won't state them.
What surprised me was that the 2ML visuals were the best I have ever seen in a BL drama lol maybe it's my taste but I had a hard time choosing who has a better visual. Another good thing about this was the "I'm not gay for one person" thing, and the way the straight guy fell in love was well done, I can get that he didn't have a proper relationship and he found out that he is gay, cool! It's realistic and acceptable.
I didn't really like how the appearance of Zi tong was late but I understand why when I finished the drama. What I really hated like REALLY HATED, were those YouTubers or I don't know influencers!? What were they? I have no idea. They were so annoying and the sound of their voices, I was like "good lord of heaven and hell!!! Why are they speaking like that" and the cat disappearing scene!! I couldn't understand what the fuck were they doing really. The second couple wasn't that interesting to me and their acting was acceptable but not that great. Beside that I can't really complain about anything that wasn't found other BL dramas, I enjoyed it and recommend it.
I liked it and i didn't like it. I enjoyed everything, the acting and how realistic the stories and feelings here, it really represent the insecurities of 30YO single women in a not boring way and the drama also has some funny parts. What I didn't like was the examples here, 2 of them has to deal with affairs and both that different results and I don't know if it was on purpose to show that 30YO is an age that women might go to such option out of desperation, or it wasn't intentional and the writer just has a thing for it, but even if we focus only on the main character's relationships I have to say that they ruined a very good idealistic and nice relationship for absolutely no reason at all, which kinda defeat the purpose of reaching a stable relationship for a 30yo woman. But I can't say that it was bad, not at all I highly recommend it, just it could be better.
Can I ask you for a summary of what happens from ep 7-9? I’ve heard ppl say the show’s good from ep 10 and…
I have to tell you that the pace is the same for all ep, it doesn't change so if it wasn't your cup of tea I believe you wouldn't like it But if you only want a push to continue then I'll be glad to help.
Can I ask you for a summary of what happens from ep 7-9? I’ve heard ppl say the show’s good from ep 10 and…
I think Xiaoen had confessed to him in ep6 so he gave her money, asked her to leave the house, and go back to work at the office. Then Xiaoen came with the idea that if she made Chuchu independent she wouldn't want to pursue AoRan anymore so she made her get along with everyone, AoRan was skeptical about why they are close so he kept an eye on them and saw how nice Xiaoen actually is. Chuchu got brave and asked AoRan for a date, Xiaoen got jealous and QingFeng began to cheer her up, but Chuchu stood AoRan up on the date, later Xiaoen knew that Chuchu had money problems so she helped her with the money AoRan gave her to move out. Xiaoen began to work as a part timer and got closer to QingFeng and AoRan starts to get jealous of how close they became -we notice that QingFeng is also falling in love with Xiaoen but it's not been said directly-. Later AoRan's brother Moran -same brother in real world- comes back from US and XiaoEn saw him, remember the accident in real world and faint from overwork, AoRan run to the hospital to see her and he meet Chuchu then she tells him that Xiaoen fainted helping her for her debt. Xiaoen asks QingFeng to warn AoRan from his brother Moran -because she believes that he'll harm him like in real world- AoRan then ask QingFeng to give Xiaoen a gift for helping Chuchu -but it's actually his feelings in disguise- Then it is obvious to us that AoRan starts to fall in love with Xiaoen and gets jealous of her interaction with QingFeng.
Ok!! After reading the comments here - and in other HIStory dramas too- I can firmly announce that my taste in BL is totally different than most people!!!! Because I fucking love this one!!!!! Actually it might be may favourite HIStory drama but I'm not 100% sure because I don't like to compare dramas with different lengths as one, I think it's not fair.
Ok, now back to my review. The first couple friends turn lovers was very good I don't know what to complain about, the story is like any other rom-com drama with straight people, done well, good acting, brilliant chemistry, and nice characters!!!!! I LOVE BOTH CHARACTERS!!! Licheng was funny, cute and I loved how extrovert he is, a little pushy I don't deny, but not in a forceful way, he respected Muren's feelings and wow *claps*claps* someone who really planned to back off for the sake of friendship. Muren's personality is close to mine so the whole series I was like "Yeap, I'd do the same thing" no matter how wrong or stupid it was but I'd do the same thing for my friends and even when he hesitated i felt I'd be the same, i would not turn gay for a friend though, but this is a BL drama so... Also because of them I'd accept the "I'm only gay for him but I don't like guys" thing that is in most BL and pisses me off.
The second couple here the brothers, god! I don't know what's the writer's obsession with step-siblings's love, it's a weird fetish really xD and here we got the problem, I couldn't help but think that Yongjie is mentally unstable, but I don't know why "obsession" and "psychological problem" are not in the tags because I remember seeing "inexplicable obsession" in the synopsis, and without that I wouldn't even bother talk about this side of the drama because it's 100% fucked up. But, to be fair, if he is unstable then I could -just a little bit- understand his obsession but I wouldn't want him to end up with the brother though, I'd like if he got fixed up first then fuck whoever you want, dude it doesn't matter if he gives his consent. In case he is stable and he did what he did then call 112 dude!!! No excuses!!! And in both cases I lost interest in the story after his brother accepted what he did really, he has no spine lol but I didn't like the brother's character anyway so it doesn't matter much.
This is the last of the series so far and I recommend it.
One of the most clichéd dramas ever lol I was just watching it and predicting what's going to happen, because this literally has no story, just a few cliché romance moments between the leads I didn't find the ML that handsome tbh so my eyes didn't pop out when I saw him on screen, the acting is mediocre but to be fair there is nothing to act really, they were just saying a few super cheesy lines and they did that fine lol I skimmed through the second half of it -i think from ep6 on- because everything was pretty funny for me.
I'm not completely saying that this is bad, I needed some cheesy and light drama to watch so I picked it up, when I first started it about a month ago or so I couldn't go past the first ep, so it just depends on what you want really, if you need ideal 2000s romance drama where the FL trip over air and fall on the ML lap and he say something extremely cheesy then this drama is for you, if you want to watch any type of drama with acting, just skip this one xD
This one is a big NO, this literally has everything I hate in BL dramas, the story is unrealistic and the only good thing about it that stopped me from dropping it was that they were at high school, so their age is suitable for all the stupid things about the story. I don't really buy the "I'm only gay for one person" thing and turning straight to gay is really is unrealistic and stupid, it wasn't even done well here, Xigu obviously was skeptical about their relationship and I hate that he was pushed by Haoting. Also Xigu presence could easily be discarded he didn't do much at all, Haoting did everything he annoyed him, he fell in love, approached him, kinda forced him to love and be with him, and Xigu mostly was studying and maybe sick most of the time. I know I'm complaining a lot but all the comments are praising it and just hate the end while I think everything thing about this was annoying really.
Just one last thing!!!! Being nice to someone doesn't make them fall in love with you, this is pure idiocy, and if a friend or just a nice person who is the same gender as you confess to you while you are straight -and I'm talking from experience- you won't suddenly feel like "oh, why don't I turn gay" at most you'd feel grateful and maybe a little apologetic, you would not change your preference with a snap of a finger, if you are gay, you are gay and if you are straight, you are straight. Period.
I kinda like Taiwanese dramas, but I normally don't watch longs dramas -anything more than 16ep with over 1hour is considered long to me because that's the standard Kdramas length that I'm used to watch- I'm more of a 10ep maximum person, I have seen this story in many many dramas and sadly I didn't like them much no matter how good they were, and I didn't know any of the actors -except for Marcus- so let's say I was a bit skeptical about starting this. BE THAT AS IT MAY, I loooooooved this drama every single minute of it, Vivian is AMAZING!!!!!! SHE IS BRILLIANT HERE!!!! I fell in love with her character and acting xD she was so good as Xiaoen, and AoRan's facial expressions to whatever she did was so funny. I love how unpredictable she was, I mean the story is predictable but the flow of the story was different, and XiaoEn was a great FL character, I loved AoRan and QingFeng reactions to her bubbly and weird personality, I even had some moments when I actually laughed loud while watching because of her. I skipped most of the real world scenes, I think I skipped all of it. God knows what was happening I didn't even know what his brother/sister did and who is bad really xD I didn't give a damn about it, Vivian got all my attention. I have to admit that I wanted it to be finished by ep14 or so, but not because I was bored, I was more in a hurry to see how will they end it, they played the end safe. Highly highly recommended for a rom-com lover.
I had the same feelings when I first started it, the police officer behaviour at first was over the top a little…
Yea, actually they are the reason I continued the series, I finished it now - skimmed through the last 5eps or so- I wasn't a fan of the main couple tbh but overall it wasn't terrible, I've seen worse.
I was extremely excited about this drama because of the story mainly, sadly when I started it my excitement was lost, but I don't regret watching this at all, I enjoyed it a lot, but mostly for different reasons. I have to say I LOVE Jack -and I mean the character- he always has a smiley face whatever the situation and he didn't look creepy doing that, his acting lacked in some scenes but I love him with Lian, they were so cute together and Lian's innocence was so cute, though not everyone is able to pull off the "innocent guy" behaviour well but Lian was good enough. I didn't really like how the story went at the last third of the drama, and I didn't like the 2ML much either lol sorry to say that xD and that freakin tuft of hair that the ML has that defied the rest of his hair, I kept touching the screen hoping that I'd magically lay it down xD overall, they were good together but in the dramatic turn of events it was awkward a little to watch their acting, it was mediocre and the story required too much. It wasn't terrible as I may sound, but maybe because it wasn't what I expected I felt at loss.
im only on episode but one thing is bothering me a lot.... the acting... why is it so hard to come by a bl with…
I had the same feelings when I first started it, the police officer behaviour at first was over the top a little but it gets better and less cheesy -except for a few cringe moments of course, no BL is empty of those lol- I'm half way through it and except for Tangyi's stone face it's good so far.
I love the bickering between Hyundo and Eunso -and sometimes with Yeongjoo- and that's mostly why I'm planning to continue this, I have no big interest in the main story and secrets between the 2 families so I'm putting this on hold because it's hard for me to binge-watch 50ep while I am only interested in about 20mins of the 1 hour ep.
I think I'm the only one who didn't like this xD. The acting wasn't that good, there are a lot of scenes where I thought the acting is really really awkward and bad, and I see no chemistry between the 2MLs at all, friends maybe but I couldn't feel any love there. The story also has a few odd moments, like at the beginning who let 2 stranger to his house, and then ask one of them to be a nanny, really?? I didn't see a fantasy tag here. Also I'm really sorry to say this and I know this is a BL drama, but I can't really digest the idea of a totally straight man with a kid to fall in love with a guy, I mean why!? He literally did not do anything to make him fall in love with him, except for cooking and taking care of his daughter, and I don't think it's enough to fall in love, because then every nanny in the world would become a secret lover or a step-mother. It's not easy for gay people to be straight then why make it easy for straight people to be gay. You are what you are, you don't change, Period.
This was intense, I loved this series a lot, it presented an idea of losing your youth suddenly and unexpectedly found out that adult life isn't all roses. I love how the series explore every dramatic side of this idea and cross the threshold for every character affected by the 25 years lost, it went a little overdramatic at the end but I can see why they did this. I recommend it for the acting and the story, if you don't mind melodrama
