I've heard so much about The Untamed (and seen so many clips of it lol) but I'm in two minds over it, especially because people say that they've whitewashed the bl element in it.
I'm currently watching Goodby My Princess and even knowing the end, I'm completely sucked in!

That's basically what I'm feeling.
Since I've seen too many MVs and clips, and read too much about the show, I basically know the entire story.
But it feels like I've seen all the other great shows (with happy endings), so I'm really really trying to watch this. God I really hope it doesn't break my heart as much since I'm more 'prepared.'

In historical c-dramas, I'd recommend Ashes of love and Eternal love (ten miles of peach blossoms). Theres some serious eye candy and the chemistry is on point.

Agreed - he's not classically handsome but he grows on you so damn much. I mean that smirk! I dont really understand how people perceive it as 'sleazy.'
Interestingly, he's the second actor who has grown on me, after Mark Chao in Eternal Love. The more you look at these two, the more handsome they look!

Fml this is the third historical c-drama and ost (after ashes of love and eternal love) that ive become obsessed with.
Its definitely a must watch!

The more i read about the ending, the more confused i become.
I think theres some dispute on whether they're well and alive or in heaven.
If im not wrong (and i very well can be), according to the novel they're alive but the drama dialogues for the last scene were not translated correctly - they were lifted out of the novel which is quite poetic and so it was hard to translate. In short, it was wuxi waxing poetic and talking in circles like he usually does.
On the other hand, one youtuber had an interesting theory that the last scene was actually the prologue - ie before wuxi and fu yao went down to the human world for their trials.

For most of the drama it felt like the ML manipulated the FL just because he could without considering her feelings.
Tbh, not for a moment did i feel like the ML fell for her head-over-heels like the show was angling to convince us. He started by dominating her life and did not stop - in the end she just gave herself up.
While yes overall it wasnt a bad watch, I would still not really watch it again.

Oh lord, how could i forget 'emperor landing.'
I kid you not, I had to pause and laugh like a lunatic!
Ps. If you can put up with the subs, i would say you should finish love better than immortality. I have yet to see another ML who is for real a 'bad boy' - he's cunning, calculating and pretty murderous. Loved how DIFFERENT he is from the usual 'bad boys with a heart of gold.' Also, at one point (spoiler here) he almost decided to kill the FL so you'll at least have a 'hah' moment for the severely annoying FL and the actress!

You're pretty spot on with the judith mcnaught comparison.
In fact, i think this drama is pretty similar to a novel by jude deveraux (i think).
But who doesn't love some mindless romance, fluff and a seriously gorgeous ML!

The version on dailymotion has better audio and the sound doesnt drop out randomly. And i say version not because of a different edit (its the same choppy editing) but because the background music is pretty different in the YT vs the dailymotion version.

While i don't mean to disrespect subbers - especially those who don't work in an official capacity - I agree that titles and subs both need to go through some level of QA or production houses should by default sub in english at least.
I mean, have you seen Love Better Than Immortality? That show is a classic example of subs gone seriously, dangerously, wrong!

Sigh, cute drama meets dark lakorn.
Parts of it were super troubling and then the very next scene would be total fluff. Needless to say, it got me very confused.
The last 2 episodes were not needed and as many, many reviewers have already commented, the editing left MUCH to be desired.
Also why is no one talking about how p'chet was a total third wheel lol?

Not even for a single second did I see her ending up with the second ML - he was just too dismissive of her and even downright rude. Imagine someone treating you like that in RL.

Someone's already posted this in the comments, but the netflix version has some cut scenes that'll leave you confused.

I'm curious to know why you think he's despicable?
In my opinion, the only flaw he had was his unwillingness to accept his parents for who they were - scheming, power hungry rulers!
Besides his blindness towards familial ties, I don't think he ever acted in a despicable manner unlike most of the other characters.

This pretty much had everything - the ML is a t-r-e-a-t, liked how the FL did something unforgiveable but tried really hard to make up for her mistake, side characters were all interesting!

Unfortunately, it seems that the FL carried the entire movie by herself - he was more or less a very attractive decoration.
