I’ve been wanting to read QI YE bcs the synopsis sound interesting but I didn’t like the prequel TYK very much, so I’m hesitant. Can I ask What part of Qi Ye is problematic ?

Just want to clarify one misleading info from the above commenter.
SVSSS has only ONE dubcon scene (around chapter 80 as I remember) and you can skip it without any problem, unlike 2HA which has multiple noncon/dubcon and you cannot skip any of them bcs otherwise you’ll be losing important info about the story.
There is def. some angst but the MC just doesn’t let me think about them. One moment I feel sad and the next second I’m laughing lol 😂

Yes the book indeed goes deper into WWX’s character. I liked wei Wuxian because he was a morally grey character. The LA whitewashed him a little, but I find all versions of Wei Wuxian really interesting and complex. Personally I find that characters are the ones that make me attached to a specific story rather than the plot, hence why I have a special attachment to MDZS.
Better to take time absorbing all the information. honestly I tend to read a little fast so I think i only spent around a week to finish TGCF. But recently I have realized that reading slowly really enhances the experience of reading.

I thinks TA is definitely a worth read. it’s just the massive dump of information (sect names, wuxia techniques etc.) around the beginning chapters, and finding that some of the rare YWS’s good deeds from the donghua are not actually in the novel, that made me kind of take this story slower than I would usually.
I’ve advanced some more chapters from where I had left before, and I can say that the story is starting to pick up. Watching the Donghua first helped me familiarize with some of the heavy information from the novel. And I love the MC. He’s so precious. This is a pretty heavy story but SPL was also pretty heavy but we both enjoyed it, so i do have a feeling this might fully draw me in the upcoming chapters.
I’ll hopefully be done with reading by the end of this week. I’ll let you know my feelings about TA then.

Thousand Autumns donghua was pretty good too. The animation was really smooth, the actions scenes were really cool, much better than SVSSS (bcs they had more budget). I think donghua is a great place to start. Just be aware some of the ML MC scenes from the donghua do not exist in the novel.

I totally understand about the world in SPL. Priest writes the most amazingly world building. I do love Gu Yun too but i think I’m a little biased toward Wei Wuxian because I read about him first. personally I find them pretty similar.
Yes, TGCF is pretty long, but it’s worth the read. What chapter are you on now ?
I’m still on the very early chaps of TA, so that’s why I’m not feeling much engagement with the story. pls don’t take my word for it give it a try yourself, You might feel different.
but I’ll surely let you know what I feel about it after reading the later chapters.

I’ve already watched S1 and S2 and Currently watching S3. The animation is super good. way better than the live action bcs U know how bad the CGI is in the LA. Also, Voice acting is so good. I can’t help but laugh when Wei Wuxian flirts with Lan Wanji, his voice tone get so high 😂 new season has so many WangXian moments I was so happy.

Yes it’s a story purely for the laughs. It’s MXTX’s first work, so Not the best written danmei or the most popular danmei, but’s good enough for a fun read. Read it when you are bored and have nothing else to read or when you just simply want a good laugh.
Btw, They have released the donghua trailer for season 2. Hopefully comes by january.

From what I’ve gathered, she has never released her real name or any other personal information nor confirmed the legal issues. I think these pages can be edited by anyone so not 100% believable.

Rumor is just a rumor after all. Just because she didn’t come to clarify it doesn’t really mean something is really up with her. So better not bring up rumors from the internet most likely spread around by the antis. These will only confuse the new fans/readers.
Let’s just wait for MXTX to come back to writing again 🙂

SVSSS has a comedic undertone and much lighthearted than other novels. MC is a modern guy transmigrated into Xianxia times, so his hilarious inner monologue keeps making me forget the angsty parts of the story. Do not look for a super developed story. Just enjoy the ride. Romance could have developed a lot better but I feel like the extras kind of compensate for it.

Have you watched MDZS donghua ? The third and final season is currently airing.

In terms of how much I enjoyed each novel :

Heaven Official’s Blessings = ❤️❤️❤️ My Ultra Favourite. the best novel I’ve read. Love everything about it from the plot, the world building, the angst, the characters to the Romance. love how Xie Lian seems so simple at first the the more your find about his past, the more complex his character is. Love how wholesome , heart rendering and pure hearted HuaLian’s romance is. Also I like how MXTX novels always have the “mass people” as the true antagonists and not just a single person. I honestly do not think I’ll find a story I will enjoy more than this, at least for a while.

Mo Dao Zu Shi = one of my fav novels of all time. I absolutely love this story, the characters and the romance between Wei Ying and Lan Zhan. not my first ever danmei, but out of the novels listed here, this was the earliest one I read, so it holds a very special place in my heart. Wei Wuxian is one of the most interesting characters I’ve read. the best example of a charismatic and charming MC. Love how he is willing to do whatever he can for the things he believes to be right, even if those actions end up backfiring in the end.

Sha Po Lang = I think I have displayed my feelings plenty enough about this novel. Look how I terally live on this page. A really good story with a good plot and Interesting characters. favourite character is Chang Geng. Love his growth, motivations and his feelings towards GY and the wholesome relationship between Gu Yun and Chang Geng.

The Husky and His White Cat Shizun = complicated feelings. Liked how you Couldn’t truly hate any character in the story because all of them have reasons for doing the things they do, even the antagonist. Not sure how I endured through the angst tho. Ending was not satisfying!!!

The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System = This novel is the one I’ve reread the most. Mc’s inner monologue is Hilarious and bcs of that the angst is not as apparent. Not the most developed plot or the most satisfying Romance but I still keep coming back to read it again and again, bcs it’s just so fun to read it.

Faraway Wanderers = dropped it halfway because the story is boring and confusing. Personally think the LA is a little better than the novel.

Thousand Autumns = I’ve watched the donghua and I’m currently reading this and realizing the novel is a little different to donghua. It’s boring for now, so I’m taking it slow. Love Shen Qiao very much. He is so similar to Xie Lian so I can’t help but feel for for this man.

Highly doubt it. Most likely the antis trying to spread false rumours because all of her novels are really popular and getting adapted left and right. She’s probably just tired from all the cyber bullying, so she’s not even trying to stop the rumors anymore.

What’s ugly is she’s the only author that’s under authority. Antis reported her novels MDZS and SVSSS for smut and jjwxc locked them. There’s plenty of other authors with smut in their works, but they don’t get reported, their works are still perfectly on the site.

2D definitely is better for action scenes. Movements flows more smoothly.
But, not gonna lie, loved SVSSS even with all the flaws in the animation. Faces were too beautiful for me to resist. 😂

Honestly I’m a little sad too that it changed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 20 year age gap in any other danmeis, and even if one is older it’s mostly the gong, older Shous are pretty rare, so I was kind of looking forward to it.
Well yeah, age gap is the least problematic in Meatbun’s stories 😂

I thought the youth was the doctor in the future and Teacher’s Xie’s child is the psychopath. But I was so wrong. It’s the doctor and Teacher Xie that’s related 💀💀

By the way, the age gap is 13. 20 is indeed too much I guess.
