Unfortunately, only the director. Would have been nice to see the whole production team together once again.
Exactly my thoughts. For this adaptation, because of all the fantasy mystical stuffs, they really need to do a good job with the CGI. I just hope they’re saving their budget for the CGIs. The untamed was xianxia, but this one has more xianxia elements. I believe Wuxia is martial arts.

I felt the same. The first time I watched it, CGI bothered me a lot, I cringed so hard at those scenes. But I still liked how the story stayed close to the novel as much as possible. I just hope Eternal Faith has enough budget for decent CGIs.

No I meant the staff. Like the screen writers, costume designers, music producers etc. They all did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life.
Honestly I don’t think it would work. Unlike Mo Ran, Chu Wanning had a fairly happy and stable childhood and…
Yes he was kept isolated in his childhood but he was never aware of this until he went out to explore the world. It’s only after he realized that outside world is vastly different from what his shizun had told him that he wanted to leave his comfortable life. Compared to Mo Ran who had been suffering since his birth, with his mother dying, with no food to eat, no clothes to wear, no actual home, Chu Wanning indeed had a better, and happier life. You can also see this from the scenes in the scrolls Mo Ran sees, how happy Chu Wanning was always smiling beside his shizun.
About the effects of the flower on him, he could have gone to the darker side too, or he could have just remained as the saint he is. honestly latter has bigger possibility.
Btw, i’m interested in this fan fiction you’re talking about. Could I get a link where to read it.
The question recently posted about why Shimei planned to plant the curse to CWN got me thinking. Do you guys think…
Honestly I don’t think it would work. Unlike Mo Ran, Chu Wanning had a fairly happy and stable childhood and with his personality, he’s not the type of person to dwell on his dark memories and grow his hatred based on them. Even with Taxian-Jun, CWN only kept blaming himself instead of truly hating TXJ, so I don’t think the flower would have worked like it did on Mo Ran. I guess the only effect the flower would have on him is to fall in love with Shi Mei, just like Mo Ran did.
