I’m also really looking forward to the steampunk elements. I have never read/ or watched any other steampunk stories before SPL, so I’m really curious how they will show all these steam machines, gadgets, armors etc. Especially the giant kites and the eagle armors. Considering that the production team has a decent budget I think they can pull off a satisfying show.
Another thing I’m really looking forward to is the friendship and the bickering between Gu Yun and Shen Yi. Also the interactions between the Main, supporting and side characters like Ge Chen, Cao Niang Zi, Liao Ran and Miss Chen.

I’m a little worried about the relationship aspect of our ChangGu. I know we shouldn’t expect much bcs of the censorship, but at least other stories (like the UT or WOH) can pass off the relationship between the Main characters as soulmates. but for SPL, the only extent of the relationship they can go for is Yifu-son, so I’m a little sad about this.

1. Yes, I completely understand that Luo BingHe’s earlier advances were not really acceptable. He actually reminds me as a less extreme version of Taxian-jun, a lonely and pitiful kid who just wants approval and acceptance from the person he loves, yet goes about it the wrong way. But I do have soft spot for LBH because he never really hurts the MC (except that one scene in which he is not in control of) and eventually becomes the devoted puppy boy he truly is.
2. Thank you for your answer. If the problematic thing is only this I don’t think It would bother me that much. But Yes I understand. I feel like knowing what type of triggers that will be in a story really helps me mentally prepare for it. Before reading 2HA , I allowed myself to be spoiled a little about the triggers and to what extent they appear throughout the story, so when I actually started reading it I could handle these much better.
3. Sry, I forgot TYK is the sequel. I haven’t still gotten to the part In WOH where Jing Beiyuan shows up but I’ve already read the chapters in TYK with him and Wuxi. It was these chapters that actually made me curious about Qiye but I’ve read some comments mentioning that Jing Beiyuan doesn’t actually reciprocate Wuxie’s feelings in a genuine way and Coupled with the fact that Jing Beiyuan has strong feelings for his old lover, I don’t think I would be able to bear if he doesn’t actually return Wuxi’s feelings. (Same feeling I felt for SVSSS because MC’s feelings for LBH was not as apparent until the extras) Romance is not the only thing I look for in a novel, but I want to know beforehand so I won’t be disappointed later in that aspect.

I started noticing this trend some time ago. most viewers tend to hate females characters in general, even if they are the main character or the villain. One example is "Kang Ha Na" from the drama Taxi Driver. People were hating on her so much just because she was not on the same side as the ML even though she was just doing her job as a prosecutor. The same happened with the FL from Vincenzo. viewers always commented that she was annoying to see on the screen but as soon as she started working together with the ML, the viewers turned their opinions around.
In thriller/mystery /crime dramas, I personally find Female Villains more interesting and more complex than the typical main villain.

I didn’t know about this either until I saw some comments under WOH episodes about the drama being removed.
I also think this is too much honestly. I understand it was a wrong thing for him to take these photos, because Chinese citizens are really sensitive about these issues from when china was invaded. but all human beings make mistakes. He also apologized for this. So banning him from the entertainment industry seems really too much. Also it’s weird these things only happen to actors that act in BL dramas. Xiao Zhan had a controversy too and now ZZH. It’s very sad to see these issues coming up only when he finally succeeded in his career, now all things are ruined.

Lol 😂 I remember when I was reading SPL most readers were not aware that GY was the bottom so when it was actually revealed they were like 🤡🤡🤡. I was having so much fun reading their comments.

Right ? Even with Sha Po Lang, as soon as Gu Yun appeared I was drawn to the the story. At first I wan’t very much into CG , but after he grows up and his past comes to light, I realized how complex he was. Interesting characters like really make me fully invest in a story. And yes, rooting for characters is my emotional pill. When they get sad, I’m sad too. When they are happy, I’m super happy too 😃

I’ve never thought anything about my reading speed before. but I’ve read 2HA very fast, mainly because I didn’t think I could handle the angst and other triggers so I wanted to get it done as soon as possible. But I regret it now because reading an angsty book like this all at once really take a toll on my mental state. Also I realized that I’ve missed a lot of the beautiful parts about this book bcs I only focused on the angsty/complicated parts, so I’m planning to go back and read it again from the beginning, this time slowly. I feel like I’ll perhaps enjoy this a lot more the second time

That’s a good idea. Read the book first and if you at least find it somewhat fun, you’ll find the animation fun too (especially with the amazing voice acting)

(fun fact is, the voice actor for the MC in SVSSS is the same voice actor that voices Yan Wu Shi from TA, And the MC in SVSSS has a totally different personality from YWS. )
