I'm seeing a lot of people worrying about how these actors will portray Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. It's reminding…
worrying is the only thing we can do to endure the torturous wait. worrying about how closely they will follow the novel and how the production team will portray all that xianxia scenes - while spending this painful time of waiting for this drama to be released.
I know that there is this scene where his aunt Niang smashes his foot saying "you are not my son, you are not…
I know right. I’m so curious too but bcs these were never mentioned properly in the novel i can only assume in my head. If he moved to the palace at 10, and went to war around 15 years of age, which mean he spent like 5 years in the palace.
we have to do something about it!!!!!! like discussing why it is such a good novel ! :D
Yeah it was so weird for me too bcs i had never seen Chen Zhe Yuan before but as soon as I saw him as the one playing Chang geng i was like “he is the one”. It’s probably because Chang Geng is supposed to be younger and have this innocent, kind personality (even tho he is a schemer) and as soon as you look at Chen Zhe Yuan, he just gives so much of these qualities and vibes of Chang Geng.
And yeah Song Ji Yang is literally the personification of the words “Gentle and Elegant”. His vibe & aura is just so calming and peaceful to see.

My memories about this are a little vague so i might be wrong about his age when he moved in to the palace but I know for sure he became the commander at 17. Tbh, I was under the impression that both of his parents died at the same time. But i think it was earlier than 14-15 years old, because GY was adopted into the palace after both of his parents died. If he came into the palace around 10 years old, this means both his parents are already dead by this point. And also he was already fighting in the war when he was 15.

I also admit i felt a little weird at first because I have always imagined Gu Yun as an elegant, but charismatic character, so at first i was skeptical if Tan Jianci can pull it off. But then after seeing those photos, i was like never mind. He’s fine and I have hope. Also it’s good to hear he is a good actor. I cannot say anything about the actors because i only watch Kdramas and rarely watch C-Dramas only if they are adapted from novels like these. So i’m also only familiar with Song Ji Yang from the Untamed. Before the Eternal Faith casting was announced, i was thinking he gives very Xie Lian vibes.
Haha nevermind the darkness of that joke. I’ll also join u in fulfilling our obligation with Ruoye. 😂 Well hopefully we won’t ever have to use Ruoye for it’s actual purpose

Thinking about it i don’t think they ever met when she was living inside the palace. Because GY only moved there around 6-7 years old and the barbarian goddess escaped when she was pregnant with the CG so i don’t think he has ever seen her.
My expectations are low but I've decided that I'll just wait and see. Zhang Ling He does give me San Lang's vibe…
I don’t have a problem with the casting, honestly I cannot say much about the acting as i have never seen either of their dramas. But i’m willing to give them a chance. It’s the other stuffs about this production i’m worried about honestly.
