True. While the heroine is great, I love to see a balanced approach in romance focused dramas so it is definitely a disappointment to get to see so little of the ml. That apart, just give zlh a good script somebody where he has screen time man!!!

I am on the fence with drama promotions, story narrative and editing has been dwindling since several episodes so iqiyi is relying more and more on marketing using future episodes with that ONE scene...btw spoiler alert!!!! AND, the novel, story and its characters deserved better.

If anything, it was no relief either to find out that this bleeding injury trope is true to the novel; ml is destined to live this way chapter after chapter....as soon as it heals another one comes along 🤣 and it didn't have to be from an enemy either but a self inflicted punishment for loving the daughter of the man who is attributed to having caused yhe death of his own father. Author loves a bleeding tortured hero it seems 😝🙈

I understand that it will be hard to match the standards of the novel but lately it seems producers are relying excessively on ZLH's charm to pull the audience but giving very little of him overall, all this while the drama production has turned technically quite flawed right now, be it editing, be it in story telling. excellent cinematography aside, the initial 8-9 episodes were comparatively better and hopefully that quality is what we will be getting in the 2nd half. I have been looking forward to ZLH's dramas and honestly, this tactic to only give him scenes where his only job is to look good...that is unacceptable to what he could do otherwise with his talents.

Not all changes are good and there is not need to defend everything. Editing was really bad in the episode today. I don't think this is a 9.2 worth drama yet, unless it gets better which we will have to see!

today's episode was one of the weakest in the story so far. How is everyone so ecstatic, It felt cut at the wrong point and completely off from the novel. Now that I am reading, I am finding the novel to be so much better, the original author is quite talented in explaining military movements and strategy as well as developing their mature romance and chemistry. a bit disappointed with the progress this drama is having.

They have a very mature, mutually respectful relationship. He is passionate, she has ambition. As you read you will find them having vulnerable moments, trust building and a kind of love that only two true equals can hold for each other. It is less of a yearning chemistry and more of a mutual admiration and attraction. I would say the marquis is definitely more forward and sexily possessive, there are several chapters focusing on just their continued interaction , *spoiler alert* like when they spar together at night.
