Just just finished watching the last episode. I had pretty much rated it at 10 out of 10 up until the last maybe…
I think the number of episodes was appropriate however they could have distributed the narration evenly throughout instead of shoving the important parts of the story and the resolution into the last 10 episodes ,
this drama deserved to be a two parter with more episodes so we could have more elaborate and stretched out fight…
No way then we would be moving towards a more western style of stretching out dramas endlessly and giving 4 episodes ever month or 8 in 3 months and then 8 the next year. It is a ridiculous cash grab and we would all stop subscription... I'd rather watch it on those other sites! 3v3n now I am not in favor of N3tflix
π I am dying to discuss this with somebody! what was that last scene even! like a to be continued....
it ended abruptly while the ml and 2ml were talking, instead of concluding. I don't have any gripes about showing this alternate life, but ending it like on the face of 2nd ml was very random.

don't you think they ended this last scene rather abruptly? DengKai was talking to ZLH and then suddenly the drama ended. This was seriously not okay!!
Well, at least they decided to keep the brutal scene with the eunuch, this was an important event in the novel as the ML had finally decided to support a different monarch. ZLH nailed it. ref#episode 32
I am a fan just not a walnut! I love watching him as the marquis and in his "general" mode.
I haven't seen many comments here from "walnuts" either, but personally I greatly disliked ZLH's limited screen time and one dimensional portrayal of the character in the script, what with him being more of a supportive role than a lead. I for one started watching POJ only because Zhang Ling He is in it, everything else that is good was a bonus like the FL is written so well, there are some new talents like Deng Kai and Lin Muran to watch out for, there are some really cool aesthetic shots and a cinematic softness that the director brings. But at the end, it can be disappointing if what you came for is what you don't get. I think last 10 episodes have tried to make up for it but it was not enough for me personally.
As much as I applaud the Director, I don't think he excels in weaving complicated plots and events. The Lin'An…
I think Director did pretty well what he was hired to do, he delivered on all aesthetic elements. I think production has been hampered by the script and the very unsavory editing, I even want to comment on the last scene but let's not spoil it yet!
