I am a fan just not a walnut! I love watching him as the marquis and in his "general" mode.
I liked him as the Marquis as well! Hope for more <3 We shall talk again once it finishes airing :D

I haven't seen many comments here from "walnuts" either, but personally I greatly disliked ZLH's limited screen time and one dimensional portrayal of the character in the script, what with him being more of a supportive role than a lead. I for one started watching POJ only because Zhang Ling He is in it, everything else that is good was a bonus like the FL is written so well, there are some new talents like Deng Kai and Lin Muran to watch out for, there are some really cool aesthetic shots and a cinematic softness that the director brings. But at the end, it can be disappointing if what you came for is what you don't get. I think last 10 episodes have tried to make up for it but it was not enough for me personally.

As much as I applaud the Director, I don't think he excels in weaving complicated plots and events. The Lin'An…
I think Director did pretty well what he was hired to do, he delivered on all aesthetic elements. I think production has been hampered by the script and the very unsavory editing, I even want to comment on the last scene but let's not spoil it yet!

they are squeezing in too many things in what is left , I don't wan to spoil it and will comment on the ending once it officially wraps up.

Yes, I want to see raw acting from all my favourite actors, them being in their best element in myriad roles is what gives me a high as a viewer.

All I want to say is, ZLH fans will finally get to see more of him in the remaining episodes and be glad for it!

What are you talking about? It's a great adaptation of the novel
"Censored" has a very specific meaning and should not be used in the context you have applied. Story has been changed slightly specially in the the last 2 episodes.

Agreed. I commented how the show's writing was good even up until halfway point, but in the last few episodes…
After wasting a lot of time on slow motion dialogue delivery and random scenes, they have been trying to squeeze in the complex story within the last few episodes and it shows in the cracking narrative and the off-key cut scene to scene editing.

It is a slippery slope into arrogance so it is good to learn these lessons now!

Right, there's a scene where the Marquis tells her to get behind him but she defiantly replies that she can hold her own! She won't let the guy who loves her protect her and in return he respects her ferocity and confidence on the battlefield! She is yet to learn that respect is also given, not just earned.

Oh it truly leaked. On one hand, I feel bad for the producers on the other hand, I can’t seem to control myself…

I’m starting to feel like Changyu is a bit of a hypocrite. Knocking out Li Huaian and drugging Xie Zheng (even…
Agree. She has a major blindspot when it comes to her embracing her own valour in the battlefield while completely disregarding the fact that other Soldiers/Generals have a very similar desire, not just out of duty or love but out of an innate need to be useful and provide protection from impending danger. She has done this twice now to Proud generals , for a change I liked that Li got so angry at her !

I was trying to save it for last but ended up reading it bc I keep (habitually) clicking onto the spoilers lol…
that is what has happened alas! not very different from FL's latest weaponry, it demands a sacrifice before being forged LOL :P

you are implying that my criticism is due to the absence of intimate scenes, I wanted to tell you that it isn't. It is odd that people think hot kisses is all it takes to make a great story.

I don't know, I think it's a matter of taste. I think the drama did it a lot better than the novel. The main couple,…
Making everything mainstream palatable in the drama ruins the novel's niche character dynamics in my opinion. It is okay to like it in its watered down version, that is your taste.

I tend treat novels and shows/ movies as the completely different mediums they are. If you separate them you can…
BBC Pride and Prejudice is a gem. I think Classics have a very long stable life because of their deep literature quality and exposition of human nature, they can be interpreted/recreated/ re-visualized many many times every decade and we will still love them, no the same way, but we will love them. I dare not compare my love for a classic, to my fascination with a shallow fantasy genre.

So glad I'm not reading the original source. Totally 1000% enjoying the drama, granting the director full agency…
I don't think it would have been THAT much of a joy ride had I not read the novel either, but it certainly dimmed the golden halo the Director built in the first 6 episodes. Ah, the pre novel aura!!

As an otherwise avid reader, the drama leaves much to be desired. However, I do agree that some scenes are well shot and delivering what is needed.
