simple normality seems to be so broken for you that sex films are reality for you and everyone can see themthis…
What? Wow, calm down please. I commented on the sexual dynamic in the story because, like it or not, that is a big attraction for many peole when watching romantic stories. If you look closely, you'll see that I said nothing about needing them to take things further than they did. I don't need sex in a romance to find it satisfying. What I commented on was how unrealistic what they chose to show was. And it was awkward in spots.
I personally did not enjoy this as much, or find it as well written and acted, as many other BL's and romances I've seen. But it was better than average. Hence my rating of 6.
If you loved it, that's great, give it a 10. I certainly have nothing against you doing so.
Feel like it's worth clarifying what the audience finds out at the beginning (the synopsis feels a little misleading): while the ML is indeed fixated on the FL and his current pursuit initially worries her, she really "ran away from the ML" in the first place because in highschool other girls bullied her severely after he publicly professed that he liked her. In her mind, he was intrinsically linked to that horror of an experience, but he himself never did anything severe to her directly (back then or currently). The ML truly yearns for real affection from the FL and is definitely pushy, but at the same time, tries to curb his behaviors that she doesn't like, and does a lot of thoughtful/sweet actions too. So, some toxicity (not sadistic), yet I still found myself able to sympathize/empathize with him.
As @hurraza8492 said on YouTube: "In real life, this could be a dangerous situation to be in, with mental and emotional trauma. In this case, the ML was overly obsessed with the FL without harming her, trying to change himself for her, and taking medical treatment, [as well as taking care of her parents]."
This is a well written and acted, complex, and interesting story. The writer actually seems to have experience or know someone with depression; the depiction of it was much more accurate than any other vertical drama I've seen to date (as of Nov 2024).
Wang GeGe is especially awesome in this as the cool, unfazed, badass heroine. Such a fun dynamic between the lead characters! Quite a lot of humor and great chemistry (not much kissing but good skinship and moments of sexual tension).
Starting premise: The ML father's side of the family goes bankrupt and there's gossip that he's sure to become someones kept man. The FL has liked the ML since highschool despite him being her "nemisis" because he followed her stepsister at that time. She comes across the ML one night when she's drunk and decides that he should only be touched by her, and brings him home. The ML is not as destitute as it seems because his mother's family has found him and they are rich and supportive. However, the ML wants to stay with the FL whom he's always secretly loved, so doesn't tell her he's now the heir of the Duan family. The FL thus becomes his sponsor and steps up to protect him everytime he gets bullied, which is so much fun to watch!

A charming and good actor. Glad to see him getting more lead roles in vertically filmed micro dramas. Just watched a sweet one today (not yet listed on MDL but can search for on youtube): Flash Marriage with the Movie Emperor 影帝的闪婚娇妻她藏不住了 (2024). It's Liang SiWei with actress Zhai YiYing. The basic plot stretches credulity (leads don't know they are married to each other and never look at their marriage certificates), but it's a little different than many with that plotline. The FL protects the ML (or at least tries to) almost as much as he does her. The way they fall for each other is very believable. There's also no sadism (not common for this plotline anyway), no workplace bullying, no green tea's, no long and pointless arguments or grandstanding with antagonists, the exploitative family members are few and don't get a ton of screen time, there are no crazy plot shenanigans (like kidnappings or attempted murder), and no druggings.
FL is Zhang Ying Ying. My favorite of the "fake fool and fake cripple" vertical dramas so far (as of Nov 2024)! The way the FL deals with antagonists while still staying believably foolish is very clever, often really funny, and satisfying. It's believable how the ML starts falling for her as he starts to suspect she may not be as 'simple' as she first appeared. The leads feel like a good match for each other, and I like how they work together. I also thought there was good timing with the plot: the FL acting the fool continues for only the first half, so there's plenty of time after for the lead couple to interact without any pretenses. The FL is also believable as a formidable CEO; she's very capable and both mentally and emotionally strong. Congratulations on marriage to actress Bai Xin Yi! Her profile: https://kisskh.at/people/41739-bai-xin-yi In the live stream of their engagement party on Oct 7th 2024, they said they would be husband and wife on the 9th and go right back to work shooting for a show. In another live stream on Oct 10th, they confirmed that they got their legal marriage certificates. Also mentioned they were thinking of holding their wedding ceremony in about a year. :)
Possibly enjoyable for fans of the lead actors with the use of fast-forwarding. A vertically filmed micro drama (I rate these on their own sliding scale). General spoilers. Mediocre melodrama that got more and more ridiculous. The two leads were great and had good chemistry; they kept me watching but couldn't save the show. I did like that the FL was pretending to be of low IQ ("simple" after some trauma) but NOT that her mind had reverted to that of a 3-6 year old child (like the version with Yang Mie Mie and Yu Long). She was aware of adult topics (like what a husband and wife would do together) so the ML starting to show affection towards her wasn't as weird as it was in the other version. I also liked how adamantly the ML stood up for the FL even though they had just met because she was his legal wife and he took protecting her seriously. He became even more passionate about protecting her the more he got to know her. There are a couple heart-fluttering lip presses and face caresses (but not a lot of sweetness, romance, or moments of sexual tension).
Unfortunately, not a lot of time is spent on the romance as crazy plot shenanigans are the focus. As such, it felt like the screenplay skipped over a couple important steps in the progression of their feelings.
The SML was horribly overacted- tried way too hard to be mentally unhinged and became completely laughable. The FL's second hand man had the most ridiculous and cringe worthy costume (think BDSM meets Phantom of the Opera!), and was also poorly overacted in his last scene. The grandma couldn't really act. The green tea character was ridiculous, as was the SFL character (FL's step sister) though at least their acting was fine if unnuanced.

I'm glad your question prompted me to look because I like this pairing too, and it seems they have at least one more drama together. Chinesemov.com tends to have more vertical dramas listed for actors (than MDL), though there is a lag with newer releases and there's less info (like they don't give synopsis). Still, they list native names as well as English, which you can copy and paste into YouTube to search. Currently (as of 10/12/24), the only other drama on Chen Si's page that's with Yu Yin is: https://tv-1.chinesemov.com/tv/2024/Cleaning-for-a-Company I don't currently see it on YouTube, but it may be shared in the future.

Thank you for the correction, I've updated my notes! :) I can't find the actual name of this actor when searching this title on YouTube or on Weibo, and I just scoured through all the comments too, bummer :(
And yup; I'm pulling this show up again today exactly because I want some laughter and comfort, lol!

It's shorter than I expected, at 1 hr 5min long, but that matches the details in MDL. Enjoy!
