Great article, you reminded me of Crying out Love, in the Center of the World. It's still on my ptw list since I'm dreading the ending but I guess I'll have to muster up the courage soon. :P

Hehe yes I followed your "review" on the feeds. I won't be watching it.
At the moment I'm mainly focused on Japanese drama's. I got sick of being annoyed at certain stereotypical characters or storylines. Although I am still interested in the way Koreans portray romance in their drama's I won't be counting on them to deliver the masterpiece drama's. I did watch Que Sera Sera while back though and found that one fairly decent, I enjoyed it a lot. But geez it's so hard to find something similar.

I haven't seen Legal High, but I did hear good things about it. Although I'm not sure if I should pick it up already. I know it's not a business theme but legal but it feels slightly similar and I've been let down by 2 business themed drama's I recently watched. So for now I figured it's just not my thing.
I watched The Vigilantes in Masks, I just checked my list and saw I gave it a 6, but I think I was too harsh in my rating. I remember enjoying it quite a lot actually, nothing too spectacular but a good fun watch. Hmm maybe I should start re-rating again. :P
I don't know what I´ll be watching next. I haven't seen many HKC or CHinese drama´s. Do you have any that are a must/watch in your book?

Oh and you saw 13 Assassins!! I'm so glad you loved it as well it's one of my top movies!

Yes I know romance is no selling point in your book. LOL I do love watching some romance but I'm sick of being invested in drama's which end up annoying me. So I'll do light romance on the side while I invest myself in (hopefully) better drama's.

I just finished Suzuki Sensei and yes it's a school drama but the best I ever saw. You should read the reviews if you're interested. It deals with pretty heavy theme´s but I love how it´s being handled in a controversial manner without judgment. I would recommend it at least for a try. You´ll notice pretty soon if it´s your cup of tea.

LOL You're right about comparing. After just finishing Suzuki Sensei I wont pick up something similar. I'm afraid it wont live up to my expectations.
Anyway I recommend you watching it the acting and story in this drama is unique and the message is equally great.
Right now I think I'll watch some movies or pick up a funny drama. :P

AH yes my phone. LOl I somehow feel less scared when it's near me. Like a connection to the outside world incase a ghost will try and take me. LOL Plus if it gets too scary I can check my mail as a distraction. :P

Yes indeed I meant Takechi.

I just finished it and am sad it's over actually. I saw there's a movie. Found a dl but no subs yet.
I loved the ending btw, so fitting and "realistic". I was afraid they where going to wrap it up with something that made everything and everyone alright. But I loved how the Taruko and Kanda matter was kinda left open. Usually I don't like drama's who try to convey a lesson too openly but this one was done so great. Like you said without judgment, no lecturing.
Don't know what I'll watch next. I feel like something light I might pick up the second season Yuusha Yoshihiko.

Thank god they didn't ruin it.
I'm up to the point where Mr.. Suzuki finds out about the pregnancy. I wonder how they'll handle that.
I love the emotional reactions of the children. It reminds me of heir actual age and how in their world a small issue can be something big. Like how (I forgot his name) went nuts in the classroom over the poop joke. LOL It's funny and in your face but at the same time really serious.
Somehow everything feels very real in this drama and that's why something shocking is being done or said it makes a bigger impact. Like I said I like it a lot maybe even more so because I wasn't expecting it. Anyway as you see I've been promotting it. LOL

I don't mind slow. However I didn't think Moon was slow, but you're right there wasn't happening a lot, just building the story and character.

I still have The Queen's Classroom on my ptw list and with the school theme's lately I think it might be up next. ;)

As for watching scary movies. I love sitting there in the dark with a few candles to create a creepy mood, but I always need a blanket and my phone close. LOL

The Conjuring, just watched the trailer. I love a good ghost movie so I'll probably watch it in the near future. Thanks for pointing m to it. ;) I Recently watched Moon. A 2009 movie totally loved it as well. I have to say that I'm a sucker for sci-fi, but this one had great acting and I loved the theme. It's worth the watch if you haven't seen it yet.

Also I'm watching Suzuki Sensei. After some great rec's from lontongstroong. I decided to watch this and I'm not disappointed. I'm surprised not many people have seen it. I think it's unique and most likely a masterpiece depending on the last few eps which I have yet to watch.

Is that the one with Go Ah Ra? I watched it but I had to dig in my memory. I rated it a 6. I remember being annoyed with the dad and found the whole controlling body concept well, annoying. LOL Don't let me stop you though.

I'm in love with the last few things I watched which inspired me to focus on Japanese drama's again.
Kirishima, Bukatsu Yamerutteyo, most wonderful acting, really intriguing movie, just don't expect a storyline. It's become one of my favorites, while I usually don't like the school theme. Yuusha Yoshihiko, hilarious, while I usually don't react well to comedy.
Now I'm watching Suzuki Sensei which is also something that wouldn't appeal to me just from reading the synopsis, but I'm equally loving it. I've been looking for romance in drama's but kept being disappointed so I'm changing my focus.:P For some romantic cheesiness I'll just watch a Korean drama on the side.

I watched Kirishima again. LOL

Anyway Suzuki Sensei, wow. I picked it up because it's on your favorite list and read your review.
Mind you school drama's are usually not my thing but I loved Kirishima and one line you wrote "Everything in this drama is also in gray zone, not in black neither white zone of morality" really spoke to me.
I didn't read too much before watching because I don't like to know everything about a drama before watching. So the first eps I was watching with astonishment and loving every minute! I was a bit afraid where they were going with the Ogawa storyline. Not because of morality but I just felt that it was unnecessary if developed further and actually would make the drama weaker.
I haven't finished it yet but lets see what happens the last eps.

Glad you liked them. I think they are special just because it's not your regular samurai movie but really depicts the changes Japan was going through at that time. Plus the focus was on the personal stories.

For me I can really enjoy Korean or Taiwan productions but somehow my favorites almost always end up being Japanese. For me there's a feeling of sincerity in those drama's and moves which is hard to find elsewhere. Although I can still be a sucker for cheesiness. For example just to get a weekly dose of cliche and mindless TV I'm following Heir atm. ;)

Are you watching anything good? I seem to be blessed with great watches these last few weeks. I'm watching Suzuki Sensei and I'm loving it. Especially the first eps I was watching with my mouth open in astonishment. Totally didn't expect to love this. Don't know if it's your thing though.

Mine is Aya the sax girl but when I think about it there's lots to love in other characters as well. I love how Ohgo Suzuka acted without hardly saying anything and not putting in too much emotion which is hard to do without overacting. There's this one shot when the camera suddenly focuses on her sitting behind him in the classroom looking in the same direction like that's the closest she'll get to him, looking at the same thing. It was really strong. Plus how she still portrayed her love for playing the sax after giving a real subtle performance watching Hiroki and Sana kiss. During the recital you just see her dealing with the emotions and somehow being comforted by the music. Or at least that's what I saw. Of course the whole musical performance is a poignant scene on it's own with the zombie climax. Hehe
But I loved Hiroki a lot as well. His overall acting was marvelous too.

I actually don't know what I'll watch next. It's going to be Japanese that's for sure. I'm totally on the Japanese bandwagon again after watching Kirishima, Bukatsu Yamerutteyo and Yuusha Yoshihiko. I work on project based campaigns and I'm waiting for my next project at the moment so I'll have loads of time to reduce my ptw lists. LOL

I also watched MW and I realize it was based on a manga so the movie is not entirely to blame but I was really put off by some crazy things the leads did. Like why didn't Yuuki let the hotel guards check his suitcase when he left the hotel. You later saw that the money wasn't in the suitcase and his action only resulted in suspicion. And more of these silly faults in the plot. I guess I wasn't in the mood for mindless action. LOL

Hey,I'm just dropping by to share the love for a movie I just watched.
I really don't know if it's your thing and people seem to be really divided about this one but I'm in love with it and since you're a movie person too, I thought I'd share.
It's Kirishima, Bukatsu Yamerutteyo. It's not heartwarming, neither is it crime or an actual mystery story. Also it's not about adults but high school kids. LOL Are you sold yet? What it is IMHO is one of the best character driven movies I've seen in a long time and once you step down from the expectation that you have to follow a plot or 1 or 2 main characters it pulls you in with real subtle emotions. If you ever feel like watching it I'd like to know your opinion.

Reviews, I'm not that confident about my writing. LOL But I'll think about it.

Pandora well I'm still on the fence about it, lets see if I can put it into words. I think I rated it a 7, so not bad. I loved the acting and really loved the atmosphere. What I missed was motivation. Not only for some of the characters but also for the entire film. I've watched loads of movies and I don't need everything explained but when the focus is on the characters and not some thrilling plot then I want to be convinced of their emotions/motivation. I felt the movie lacked that extra layer of character dept. Maybe it's just me that couldn't relate or the fact I just watched Kirishima. Also throughout the entire film I felt this tension like something was coming, I thought the music, use of camera and narration was even emphasizing it. But then in the end I was disappointed. LOL What was your opinion?

In the beginning I was looking for a focal point storyline-wise but after seeing how the director was showing us Friday a number of times all from different perspectives I soon gave that up and started focusing on the actors. Right now I'm still full from watching the movie but I'd say this is one of the best character driven movies I've seen. I love how everything is shown from different perspectives plus you actually feel for the character you're following at that time just as much as when shot from another perspective. Genius how they showed us the social structure in a high school without any major events. I mean no bad bullying, no intense love tragedies, just one guy quitting a club. It's like throwing a pebble in a pond and seeing how it ripples the rest of the water. I don't know if I'm making much sense now but I loved it. LOL Oh and Zombies! Hehe

I loved Kirishima. Thank you for the rec! I wouldn't have picked it myself so easily because of the high school theme.
Right now I'm still moved by the realistic portrayal of the characters. Each and everyone of the cast felt like a real person.
