Okay, I haven't seen “Khemjira” yet (I wanted to find out everything about it first), but when I just saw the poster for the sequel, I was so motivated to see it. Like NOW! lol
I mean, how cute is this picture, it's awesome ❤️❤️❤️ They look wonderful together 😍
Spoiler for ep 3 just to make sure nobody falls into this unexpectedly: Be aware: Ep3 shows the whole act but without explicit focus on the private parts. It’s literally soft p*rn (like literally literally, the story isn’t the main focus at all lol)
Oh wow, no one warned me what a hot mess this is, lol 🥵❤️
It was also a total rollercoaster of emotions, the shift from hot to cold gave me whiplash 😅
Overall, it was pretty good, even if the story could have been a bit smoother without those 180-degree twists, but okay. I especially liked how intense Jeong Han was (it's just a shame that the tension from the first few episodes was lost a bit later on... I was hoping for a little more, and it would have been nice to see a slightly longer ending with a few more details about how things will continue in the future and/or about the discussion between son and father).
I respectfully disagree, I love this show so much, the tension and everything is amazing to me, a possessive lead…
It's great that you have a few new BLs to watch. In my opinion, you can never have enough BL input XD (And thanks for the recommendation, I've already seen Punk Triangle :)
As you know, the BL genre (shonen ai, yaoi) originated in Japan and is very popular there (like many things, but only in the realm of leisure/fantasy or whatever, not in the “real world,” which unfortunately are often two different things...). In general, I believe that Japanese culture is more conservative and traditional (and conformity is very important), so they will probably never be able to keep up with a rapidly developing country like Thailand in real life (but the same applies to many other countries). That's a bit sad but okay, everyone can take their time, as long as it’s moving forward. The only thing that makes me sad is the regression in areas such as the portrayal of kissing/intimacy in series. They had already achieved so much (for example: Taikan Yoho), I wish they had kept that up. Because in my opinion, it will be even more difficult to turn fantasy into reality if they continue to exclude/romanticize intimacy between males the way they do.
Well, anyway, hope dies last... I mean, look at my darlings in China, they've done it and produced new valuable content with clever tricks. After “Addicted”, I never thought I'd ever see wonderful BL dramas from China again... So it's worth staying hopeful, and that's why I'll just keep watching and praying for more valuable gems in the future (which can spread around the world and help people become more open-minded (and enjoy good shows ):)
Let me be clear: I LOVE this show and think it is one of the best JBLs I have seen --- yes, it is full of clichés…
Thank you for sharing your point of view, I appreciate it. I just feel sometimes ratings are influenced by other factors and in general, sometimes it’s hard to follow why one show gets highly rated while another (which is just as good) ends up with nothing (which is a general issue and not specifically focused on this drama. I just mentioned it here because it’s extremely rare for a JBL to receive so high ratings and I couldn’t help but wonder why it’s this one..). So, regarding to this drama, your post helped me understand your perspective better, thanks again :)

See, that's a comment I like and respect because you shared your personal point of view. Thank you very much, that helped me a lot, especially in terms of understanding better. And you're right on so many points. As you said, hopefully people will become more open-minded and try to love the art. All too often, I see a big difference between ratings and feel that other factors besides the series itself play a role (for example, when looking at the difference in ratings between Japanese and Thai BL series, at least in the past). But you've provided helpful perspectives on what other factors might also be at play and that it’s probably changing over time with more open viewers. Overall, I really hope that Japanese BL series like this one gain more recognition in general, because as I said, I love them very much.
(And to answer your question about recommendations: If you don't know them yet, please check out “Our Youth,” “Happy of the End,” “Old Fashion Cupcake,” “At 25:00, in Akasaka,” “Taikan Yoho,” and “BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita: Crank Up Hen.” And of course, the classics like “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!” But overall, I believe most Japanese BL are worth watching, so it probably doesn’t particularly matter which one you try to watch ;) The good thing is: there’s a wide variety of emotions and topics, so I guess everyone can find something to their liking.)
You don't understand how people cast a vote, which then affects the score? You think the 8.7 just exists because…
Don't get your panties in a twist and, above all, don't put words in my mouth that I didn't say. I never said that it's not my thing, as I clearly stated. I only said that I don't understand the ratings on mdl (in general), which reflects my own opinion, as I also clearly stated. But as much as I don't understand some ratings, I also don't understand why some people get upset about different opinions. I'm just glad that I don't care about them at all, so.. 🤷♂️
I don't understand the rating on mdl. I don't want to sound hateful, but 8.7? I just don't get it. There are so many good Japanese BLs with much lower ratings (or even BLs from other countries that are rated even lower, even though the story and acting are much better). What makes this work so special?
Honestly, even though I love Japanese BLs and enjoyed watching this series, the story is rather superficial and the chemistry between the actors is just okay. The sequel has more to offer than this part (and that speaks for itself), and these days, I find BLs annoying when young men are often overly conventional (like when they're still shy about kissing after three months 🙄😑).
(Just to be clear, this is just my personal opinion, so don't be upset if you have a different one.)
click on the poster.....should show the last change and answer your question. same person who's changed almost…
I just submitted a request to revert to the original. I hope it works. This poster just doesn't fit the drama as well as the original, and seeing it only makes me sad. 😣
I finished it and you are right! The end scene is definitly BL coded! If they make a second season around these…
Yay! Thanks for the confirmation 🫶 And yes, I would love to see that too. I mean, the chemistry in those few seconds was superb, so I would totally love to watch a whole series about them ❤️ Glad you enjoyed the series 🫰
I didn't take it as a BL teaser, not even sure where you got that idea. It was wrapping up the second half of…
So what? As long as no one knows the truth for sure, I can believe whatever I want. Opinions differ and as I said before, it certainly gave me a BL vibe 🤷♂️ I don't understand why you're so upset about it. Believe what you want, I for one will certainly do so.
I didn't take it as a BL teaser, not even sure where you got that idea. It was wrapping up the second half of…
Looks can be very revealing, and the last scene wasn't mainly about Irene (it felt more like the beginning of a new story with two new “patients”) the camera focus was more on the two handsome boys and their facial expressions (than on Irene), so... 🤷♂️ And as long as the true meaning is unknown, it's definitely a possibility. (Especially when you think about potentially problematic romantic relationships.) 😉
I'm so happy about the ending! It felt very fitting to me, and I'm so glad they didn't ignore the romantic aspect (as in too many other Japanese dramas that focus on business/work and maybe allow 1 second for the final moment between the couple). ❤️❤️❤️
But one question remains: What was that BL teaser in the final seconds all about? 🤔 (In my opinion, that was a bit mean, because now I'm excited about something that will probably never happen 😅) Can someone enlighten me, please?
What you you rate this? I agree with what you said by the way lol.
That's true, but I think they could have done a few things better here and there.. Still, it's a great movie, and I really hope there's a sequel, at least to honor the actors who put so much into their roles (and surely trained like crazy to get in shape). It would be more than wonderful to see them dance together once more ❤️
I watched it dubbed and in Japanese with subtitles. I would recommend the subtitled version, as it differs here and there in the dialogues, and I felt that I could understand some parts better that way.
What you you rate this? I agree with what you said by the way lol.
I feel the same way. But I can't decide between the two (8.0 or 8.5). I just watched it for the second time (this time in Japanese with subtitles and not in the dubbed version) and felt that it helped a little here and there because you get a few more lines of text/other expressions here and there. And yet I'm still depressed about the lack of intimacy between the two 😩 (while at the same time still being impressed by the actors themselves and their hard work 😍). I'm not sure if I should even rate it at all, at this point 🥲.

But I will definitely rewatch it in the future ❤️
