A drama has not made me cry this much in a very long time. I did not expect this going into the drama at all. Both the actors are brilliant at portraying their emotions!

You know, it's during the episodes at the mountain that my brother came to my room. He looked at the screen and just asked me, "is she always acting only in shows that have snowstorms as the vibe?" Lol, I died laughing xD

I rewatched ep 26. I can't tell you how much pleasure I got from the ending scene 💗
It's actually so refreshing to see a positive and supportive relationship between two mature adults, I'm loving it!

Oh, I've been frequenting MDL only recently, so maybe I never got a chance to see it earlier. I actually stopped reviewing in the last year or so because of so much negativity here. Nice to meet you! :)

I actually wanted to leave this review here only because I didn't find anyone else with this view. I thought it's important to just leave it here because there might be other people with the same view who might wanna avoid this. I promise if I had found even a single list where this show was listed on a list other than "healthy romance", I would've ignored it. So, I found it quite misleading and wanted to leave this here for just a reference for others.

It might not be majority view but it is an honest view. I don't know why people are acting like I'm asking them for their liver. It's simply me (a person they don't know and who really doesn't matter to them) saying I didn't like this show. Why get so defensive.

I always keep coming back to this show. Holds a special place in my heart. It would be great if someone could offer some recommendations of shows of a similar kind - either Chinese or Korean. Thanks in advance! :)

Review Intense Love
This review had me laughing. Your writing is too funny. I don't completely agree but I get where you're coming…
Your comment makes me so happy just because of how respectful it is, even though you might disagree with my opinion in some sense. Thanks for that! About the show, I think I've reached the age where, though I like watching romance, brainless plots just don't cut it for me anymore, which is why I just couldn't stand watching this. Maybe this was meant for the teenager me. :P

As a lawyer, I have absolutely loved the mundaneness of this show. Such a peaceful watch, love it! I guess slice of life will always be my preferred genre! 💜

Why isn’t there an assault tag, I mean it happens in the first episode. Not really a spoiler.
This is my biggest problem with cdramas. No trigger warnings also. 😭
(Maybe this is for all Asian drama, haven't really paid attention to other regions)
On The White Olive Tree Feb 16, 2025
I have loved the acting in this drama through and through. The story, though not my cup of tea, was also pretty great. In the sense, it depicts the harsh reality of life during/after war quite brilliantly. But then again, would I watch this show (as a non-reader of the novel) knowing what happens? No. Like a few other people I did spot in the comments, there's already so much going on in real life, that I don't need my dramas to be this heavy and just plain sad. It's my escape and I just don't prefer sad things in it. But that's just my choice for the sake of my own mental health. That definitely does not take away from the brilliance of this show.

(I did skip most of the last 4 episodes - like 90% of it, because just like I said, I'm not in a mental space to watch anything this intense. Maybe a trigger warning would help. Curious to know from my Chinese/Mandarin reading friends, if the intro to the episodes have any form of trigger warning whatsoever?)

King of... comedy? Who are you thinking about, and which comedy? That's the type of comment an AI would generate.
I actually think he has brilliant comic timing in Jinny's Kitchen as well. Not sure if 'king of comedy' would fit but definitely great comic timing! :)

i like this show, but i feel like the progress is too slow like they take one step forwards and then 2 steps back
Tbh, that's my only problem with this show. I really like it and I do pretty well with slow burns but this is now becoming a little too slow.

i'm loving this drama! idk why people are hating on; the fl isn't at all cute girl but an independent and outspoken…
I've been watching it since it released and after a very long time I didn't check MDL for something I was enjoying. Today, I randomly stopped by to talk about my feelings of how I'm loving the slow burn and progress and omg, I'm so surprised to not find many such views here, lol
