"He was doing all this for his family because he knew they are poor so he need to do better." - If he really cared so much for the family, he could've given up after a few failed attempts and taken a normal job to support his family for the time being and try again later. From what little we know of the story, doesn't seem like that happened. So, no, I don't think he was doing anything for the family, but only for himself.

Even now, he only seems to care for his ex-wife and not the children. He hasn't spoken warmly with them even once. He's using the emotions of one, and being cold with the other. Pretty selfish, once again.

Just being a PARENT does not mean you have to be respected. By that logic, abusive parents should also be respected. I'm not saying FL should not respect her mom but the reasoning that she is the parent is so lame. Act like a parent if you're gonna use that card - your (ex) husband has not provided for the children, has not checked in on them even once after the divorce, willingly gave up parental rights, etc. - then as a parent (mother), isn't she also lacking in not looking after their feelings and interests in such a situation. So, this parent argument is super flawed.

Similarly, just because someone is/was related to you does not mean you need to suppress your feelings and find a middle ground. Since coming back, he's not spoken one polite word with the daughter and he did not seem remorseful towards her even once. What has he even done for her (with the limited story we know as of now)? Why this crazy expectation of her to find a middle ground? It is her wish if she wants to be civil with him - either choice is her right and should be respected.

That's what I thought. For non-novel reader viewers (like me), that connection between abortion and decisions/consequences (and foreshadowing) is unforeseeable and thus made no sense to be so harsh, lol

I don't get that negative energy from her to threaten anyone. I think there will be mutual understanding between the team (sans the villain) to not blow things out of proportion, specially the two couples. Also Zhao is very well-liked by his peers.

What makes me mad is that this (FLs doing something so annoying that puts me off so much that I think about dropping the show) is becoming so common in Cdramas, or maybe the ones I'm getting interested in and watching. And they don't seem to apologise till the end.

I'm really curious, we're in 2024, with people being more "woke", as they call it - do people still enjoy watching female characters acting like brainless people? I can't be the only one suffering, trying to keep up with so many female characters. I start feeling bad for humankind if this is the kind of thing we enjoy because they just portray women so poorly which reflects on the society at large.

1. He does not have any history with her for there be this need to inform the FL
2. In the work set-up, the FL is literally at the bottom. Why would the boss personally tell her about his admin decisions (when they've decided to respect the personal and professional boundaries, at the insistence of the FL)? 🤔

So, I decided to wait and binge this before the finale. I have never had so much self-control that I didn't even drop by the comments section to get an understanding of the reception. 10 Episodes in and I'm having major second lead syndrome. This happens so rarely with me, omg, I'm so surprised and sad.

I don't understand when and where she threw a tantrum. She chose to be noble, her choice. I actually found it to be very peaceful. Stupid? Yes, both of them lacked communication. Jealous? Yes, both of them were jealous. But tantrum? There wasn't any. Choosing to not pursue someone for whatever reason is NOT a tantrum, it's a choice. Just because she believed everyone else, she's naive, maybe even stupid (I disagree though) but how is that a tantrum?
