They don't wanna admit how amazing this show is so they bring Krist's homophobic topic. I have come across so…
Honestly, I didn't like Krist either because of those rumors. That doesn't stop me from watching his series. Now I did some digging, because I find him so charming and not difficult at all, and I start wondering if he was just unlucky. I remember those times well, when everyone was so tense, those early years with the toxic shippers. It's all so silly, really.
Seeing that some people hate on the series, because they say Krist is homophobic, it's hilarious how he gives 1000% and plays full heartily the bottom type, you know, the smaller one, the weaker one, not the cool and handsome one. Near Gawin Krist looks almost like a child, so tiny and in need of protection. His role is the opposite of the kind of role you would expect him to prefer if he really has some issues with doing BL. To see how much fun he has playing the cute little bean is the cherry on the cake. They have great chemistry in the series, and give us effortlessly fan service. Both seem to be very chill and fun about the whole project.
there's nothing even remotely cheesy about his acting in not me and dbk. yeah he wasn't a strong actor in dbk,…
That drawing naked scene was so cheesy, I couldn't take it. It's just not my cup of tea. BMF is the first series where he impressed me. The emotional acting is more sublte, the confession scene on the rooftop was really good. I could feel his struggle.
I totally disagree with everything you said about Gawin. I was a fan since DBK era and became a forever fan due…
I know people love him since day one. I didn't, and I still don't :( I think about rewatching Sotus, because I want to see more of Krist. Not gonna rewatch Gawin's old series. When I talk about cheesy acting: The scene in BMF when he kissed Kawi in the future, drunk and desperate - that's what I mean. His weakest scene in the whole series. Otherwise I'm impressed, but this scene was just bad.
Gawin and Krist are such a good match. I have seen Gawin in DBK and Not Me. In both roles he didn't impress me much. His acting was always very emotional, but for my taste borderline cheesy and rather boring. It was not only the acting, I think the characters he played were just not that interesting. Also, in interviews he didn't catch my eye. Since I don't find him very attractive (sorry!) even his appearance didn't do much for me, his personality neither. He is the quite and polite type. Now they paired him with Krist, and look what happens. He is so cheeky and fun. He is so confident, and seems to really enjoy what he is doing. It's so obvious how he adores Krist who does all the talking and is a born entertainer. Gawin just gets along, and even though Krist always says how Gawin takes good care of him, Gawin can relax, because Krist is the one who leads and gets everyone's attention. It's such a fun couple dynamic. The cute little oddball and the quite, handsome, flirty and tall guy.
My favorite scenes before I go to sleep: - The talk between Kawi and Pisaeng, when Kawi apologized and said he sucks, he is no good and needs help from people. He was so honest and mature about it. He also understood he was wrong. Very emotional acting from Krist. - Pear and Knot meeting in that bar. I'm rooting for those two. I get the feeling Pear has a rebellious side, but when being with Kawi or Pisaeng she can't let it out. Her reply to Knot about how a hetero guy is supposed to be was so sassy! Love her, really. With the hair down, she looks better too. - Bed scene with Kawi and Pisaeng. How Kawi put on those pants was hilarious. Every second of that scene was pure perfection. I loved the kisses. So soft. I melted. - Talk between Pisaeng and his mom. Apparently, she knows that he is gay. I really love how they handle the issue about being homosexual when in other BLs they just brush over it. I loved Gawin's acting and those subtle reactions to his mothers words. - The morning after when Kawi remembered (yeah!), said they kissed and the mother appeared. Hilarious! Especially how he fixed his hair to look decent. Krist is so cute. Love him. - The talk between Kawi and his dad, when he said his father is his motivation for doing well in life. That got me teary-eyed. Beautiful writing. Those two are a match made in heaven. I'm so invested in their love story, it's a bit embarrassing.
Definitely no smex 💯....as piseang is a green flag and too much of a gentleman....maybe it will be 3 and a…
I would love it if they had sex. That would add a lot of tension, drama and depth to the plot.
I don't know about the novel, but in the trailer Mike played the charismatic full-of-himself top who is amused by the shy and confused bottom. But with the new actor/character Gawin-Pisaeng they can't go for such a plot, he is portrayed more vulnerable. Kawi's confusion and indecision that is to be expected after a hot night would hurt Pisaeng and could give us great drama scenes.
Seriously, this could put the writing on a whole new level.

In the original trailer where Mike played Pisaeng they indeed had sex. It was a big part of the plot, but they didn't only change the actor, they also changed the story. So who knows?
Okay, long comment, but the writing of the characters is brilliant. Kawi: an introvert with low self-esteem who complains nobody likes him, but when someone approaches him, he is the one who runs away. Now, since he went back in time and assumes everything is a dream, he isn't afraid anymore, he doesn't care what others think of him, so he can show his crazy self (that Pisaeng seem to like a lot), and look what happens - he is surrounded by people. He is part of Knot's friend group, he is friends with Pisaeng and Pear, and he also restored his friendship with Max. Now he is in the center of everything and living his best life. I think this transformation is very well done, it also didn't happen just like that, Pisaeng and Max were both talking some sense into him, so he could grow and do better. The character isn't perfect, but good at heart, and it's wonderful to see him change. Also, despite his childish attitude, in important scenes he is very serious, when it's about his father for example. He also reacted very mature when Pisaeng wanted to kiss him. He didn't freak out (well, the first time he did). The fight was one of the greatest scenes until now, but I will talk about that later. Kawi was also very mature when he confessed his love to Pear, and when he rejected Pisaeng. Pisaeng: Him being gay changes EVERYTHING. I wasn't aware of it, when I started watching the series, because I assumed everyone is just into girls as much into guys. In Thai BL most of the time the sexuality isn't addressed. But him being gay (for real) explains the relationship with everyone else in this series. It makes no sense that he isn't attracted to Pear, a beautiful, very nice girl, a good friend, the families know each other. Let's be realistic: those two would be a couple for sure, but they aren't, because he is attracted to guys. The brilliant writing now: everyone is jealous of him. Knot: He too has low self esteem and behaves like an asshole and a big player to hide his real feelings. It seems to me he is in love with Pear, but doesn't want to admit how serious he is about her, because he thinks he has no chance. When he listened to Kawi's love confession, and Pear admitted she likes Pisaeng, he looked shocked, because he knew, now it's game over for him. It's obvious to me he is jealous of Pisaeng, same as Kawi, who also asked "Fighting who?" when Pisaeng told him, he should be serious about his feelings for Pear and fight for it. He also knows that he has no chance against Pisaeng. Now the thing is: Pisaeng, the perfect hot guy, everyone admires, has a fight going on within himself, because he is attracted to men. That also seem to be a reason why he and Knot aren't on good terms anymore. Knot trash talking about Pear, a good friend of Pisaeng is going on his nerves. Also Knot playing the womanizer seems to add to the tension, when Pisaeng is figuring out his sexuality. I assume he thinks Knot, the 100% straight guy, wouldn't take it well. So he has nobody to rely on. Well, now he talked with Max and he even confessed to Kawi. Last but not least: Pear. I think she is very hurt, because Pisaeng rejected her. Now she talks with Kawi. She is too good of a person to just jump to the next guy, still she is now trying to move on. I hope she gets together with Knot, because in my eyes he only plays the asshole and he seems to really like her. The thing with Kwan is more a friendship he needs. But her liking him shows us that he is indeed a good guy and a good writer. Talking about Kawi & Pisaeng relationship: It's really interesting. Watching the preview of Ep 6 it seems they are moving rather fast. I don't care much about Kawi's sexuality, but it's so refreshing seeing such an unusual development. It's like Pear said: they look like they are friends for years. The chemistry is incredible and make this love story very believable. Since that kiss in the future, he knows Pisaeng likes him. It's fast paced, no games, straight to the point. Not to mention how everyone (Kawi, Pisaeng, Pear) confessed and got rejected. A crazy love triangle! So, I'm done. Great characters. I hope the series doesn't go downhill. If they keep this up, I will be impressed.
I was just thinking that I never ever expected such a BL comeback from Krist ... very good choice of series, and he got lucky with Gawin as his partner ... Great couple with great chemistry and lots of potential.
That's the first BL series ever where I am excited to see them as a couple. Normally, if the two main leads get together, the story becomes boring. Domestic fluff and lovey-dovey stuff is not what I like. But regarding those two I have a feeling it will be hilarious seeing them living their couple life.
I think him kissing Pisaeng (if he actually does) would be more like a wake up call about his own feelings about…
They move pretty fast, so if they kiss at the end of the episode, many things can happen until then. I prefer a fast paced story, because I was really worried Kawi will chase Pear for the next five episodes and only understand his feelings for Piseang in the very last moment. From his narration of the preview it seems he is starting to think a lot about Piseang and they continue to get closer.
I would be interested to know what you think is mature (non juvenile) storytelling. Because the only "mature"…
Let's just agree we disagree. I think a series is "mature" if the characters are well written, complex, relatable, and their struggles are getting to me, make me think and feel for them, especially when they are in situations that are difficult and there is no easy way out.

Some people think they won't even kiss
and some others think they will have sex
:)
