Honestly, the FL may be talented, but she’s not perfect. She oversleeps, is kind of messy, a bit goofy, and…
That's exactly what she was doing, but she should never have done that. I don't know about in SK, but in the US she could legitimately be disbarred for that. There's very strict rules for an opposing counsel to talk to the other party. Even their meeting where he decided to settle was an iffy situation in reality, but at least his lawyers consented to allowing them to speak privately. You could even see how uncomfortable the other 4 lawyers were to let that happen.
It's not like this was a small matter, she absoluetly should have known better than to engage with him socially. Her staying, even though she was "trying to help her client" could easily have completely tanked her career forever if someone saw her
well I can understand why Wan did imagine having your young gf help you all the time even giving up her phD which…
Another point on Wan breaking up with Maewnam is she's seeing similarities from her relationship with Manmook. Manmook dumped her while she was deeply in love and basically called her a needy girl that can't do anything for herself, so Manmook had to help her all the time. Maewnam doesn't feel that way, but after hearing about her dropping her PhD. she's scared that history is going to repeat itself.
Like, from Wan's broken POV thanks to Manmook, she's thinking it's better to end it now before she falls even deeper in love with Maewnam, fully expecting Maewnam to get sick of being her support and help

To be fair, it's pretty unbelievable she didn't even tell Lee Jin U that she happened to meet the defendant in a bar. It was entirely coincidental, but it looks extremely bad having a plaintiffs lawyer sitting with the defendant at a bar. I think that was GBH's point.
Yes, the FL is extremely smart, but she does some dumb things. Realistically, as soon as she heard the name, she should have told her friends they ALL need to go, or at a bare minimum excuse herself. She should never have allowed herself to continue to be in that position once she found out he was the plaintiff.
I also don't think she's made any more or more egregious mistakes than a normal first year lawyer, all her other blunders or issues can be chalked up to her personality (messy, late etc) or being a first year (almost losing the case by being biased and unprepared in 5, but she turned it around at the end.) But I do think continuing to drink with him was a serious mistake, even though she was showing zero interest in him and was practically non-responsive
There's more nuance to that though. I agree with what your saying generally, and am still watching ep 6 so this…
I completely agree, that's why I said it's more nuanced. Like yeah, she agreed to doing everything that happened in the moment, but she also originally said no.
I don't think love is a valid excuse for mental capacity, but I do think there is a possible case to be made.
Again, still watching, but it sounds to me like he made her hopelessly in love with him, to the point that she was basically stalking him after he ghosted her, then he only came back to her when she was willing to agree to the BDSM play. It absolutely was still her choice, but I think saying there's no legal argument saying that she was coerced into giving consent is also not entirely true. A lawyers job is basically navigating those gray areas to the best of their ability on their clients behalf. Even ignoring the BDSM aspect, it's honestly sadly very common, especially in like HS age girls, where they don't want to have sex yet, but only consent because they are scared to lose their bf. I don't think every case like this would be considered SA, but I think if the girls lawyers were able to present a strong arguement saying their client felt overly coerced into having sex directly by the bf, and not just personal or third party pressure, there's a possibility for winning a legal case saying it wasn't actually consensual. Also not a lawyer, just my thoughts
The major emphasis of my thought is the pressure from the partner. The case in the show makes it seem that he basically pressured her into consenting
This makes me want to define soap opera as something you cant look away from because it is so offthewall. The…
That did feel very directed at Law and the City lol. Even more so if you think about the fact the native title of Law and the City is actually Seocho-dong.
Honestly, it was a decent drama to me, but I was starting to get bored towards the end of it. And that whole "1 firm, 4 seperate entities" thing was nothing but confusing, not even just to the viewers, but the characters as well. It felt like they just did that to force the 5 mains closer and give Ms. Kim a role, that whole thing was very not flushed out and confusing so I'm not surprised another drama took a jab at it. I am surprised it happened so quickly though lol
FL is beyond ridiculous. How can she use love as a reason to withdraw consent, guess what contract will be invalid…
There's more nuance to that though. I agree with what your saying generally, and am still watching ep 6 so this might change once they actually get further into the case, but her consent can still be considered coerced if she felt she had to sign the paper in order to hold on to him. She also absolutely without question didn't consent to being scarred, possibly for life.
Yeah, the scarring and abuse happened during sex, but to give you another angle to look at it, if a woman is being beaten by her husband who made her sign a paper for itand she just lets it go because she loves him and is scared of any retribution, is that actually consent? The unequivocal answer is no, it's not. Just because it's bedroom games doesn't change that.
Also, there is a whole thing for cancelling a marriage if you can prove there wasn't consent, annulment. It's not even a divorce, it's legally saying you were never married to begin with because it wasn't a true marriage
Just finished ep 5, and making her an art prodigy that can hide portraits inside of the art itself never in a million years would I have come up with. It was a unique way to prove the art was hers, and also a tear jerking twist.
This show is doing an amazing job adding emotions into the cases on top of actually making the cases interesting. I actually feel a vested interest in the outcome of each case before the episode is over. Usually, law dramas don't do that for me, I might find the case interesting, but I'm almost never emotionally invested in the outcome
Fr, Yam treated it like it was cute when it could be serious and then she really left G out in a vulnerable state…
Yeah it was crazy, they just explained it away in the next scene like "You should have said you took a sleeping pill" Like, bitch, you didn't see her take one. Yeah, that's what happened, but her passing out like that could be all kinds of serious medical issues lol. If I didn't see someone take a sleeping pill and they passed out like that, I'm 100% calling an ambulance, would never even cross my mind that they took a pill to pass out like that
If someone passes out on me like G did to Yam, I'm not just going to let them sleep it off all night sitting on the floor lmao. The way she passed out definitely warranted calling an ambulance. Then she just leaves her there still passed out in the hallway in the morning? Like, WTF are you thinking? lol
The kiss on the rooftop was very overhyped by them, and very not LingOrm imo. I can't even really call that a kiss, it was more they just leaned in until they're lips touched for an extended period. It's really sad since I know these 2 can really kiss, like to the point that you need a cold shower after the fact.
Plot wise it doesn't even make sense, like yeah, it's their first kiss but they both have had pent up attraction and yearning for over 8 years. If ever there should have been an explosive first kiss, this show was the prime candidate for it. Out of every LingOrm kiss I've seen, this one ranks the lowest by far
I'm guessing this was that Concrete Lotus person? They are literally the first and only person I've blocked on this site. They've take rabid fanaticism to a whole new level where any criticism towards this show becomes a ridiculous back and forth with nothing but insults
NGL every time I see Ling Ling, the more convinced I am that she is the most beautiful person I've ever seen. She's just so ridiculously pretty that I wouldn't believe it without seeing her
Why cant people take them as a love team with friendly bond and enjoy the work and their fan service? Do we need…
This is my point lol, I'm not criticizing her at all, the huge amounts of hate she gets is honestly just confusing to me and seems completely undeserved
