From the moment she walked in the door and he was obviously staring at her, then she gets shoulder to shoulder with him and they start whispering to each other literally at the table with all his classmates, then the necklace scene I'm like how has noone noticed ANYTHING?!?

True, but to be fair, the coworkers can hear them and have eyes on purposely. Don't get me wrong, they were way too blatant at the party but the team could see/hear everything by design

In the first ep, the boss wanted Zhi to blame ManMan for the AI scandal and she refused, so he fired her (and them) and brought up her contract, which more than likely included NDA terms. She went to her office and broke the news that their team is no more and left. The boss then told ManMan that Zhi just up and quit, leaving the other 3 in the wind and asking ManMan to take over as Zhai. I think ManMan actually believed that Zhi just dumped them all and told the other 2 about Zhi, but not her taking Zhi's place. So Elephant and the other assistant we haven't seen again just assumed what ManMan told them is what actually happened.

And again, Elephant should not have told ManMan, I was just saying why I think she told her. She messed up

I agree that the assistant shouldn't have told ManMan, I just don't think it's fair to put any of the blame on Zhi for it. The assistant also took responsibility immediately for leaking it. Even though it doesn't excuse her, I think she was assuming that ManMan might join the team as well, since they were all friends. She didn't know about ManMan backstabbing Zhi until after she told her

which is really annoying since they put it behind the plus wall too. It would have been more bareable if it wasn't on their premium tier only imo

You mean the teammate that agreed to work with her and was literally writing her resignation when ManMan showed up? It wasn't Zhi's fault that ManMan found out lol. She had to tell her assistant what they are working on

It definitely seems more of one of those people she just has to put up with because the families know each other well and are kind of extended family. To me, he's more like the least favorite or hated cousin you haveto be nice to at family functions, not an actual friend you actively try to see

I couldn't find Hualing, but Baishan was just a bus ride away, so it has to be close. It was slightly north of North Korea. Her hometown of Nanchang is slightly southeast of Wuhan and Xinjiang where they are now appears to be the most northwestern province of China, idk where exactly they are in it.
