honestly same.....if you want to be an actor you should act and try to be the best at it. Sure there are things that may make you uncomfortable but ant the end of the day you are not forced to do the job.But if you take the job shouldn't you do your best? Of course there could be many things that could have an effect on the end result but still....the actors are still part of the process to make the end result. I think it could be considered as unprofessional

oh yes I know those too well. wey too often it seems like one of them is really pursing their lips and the other one is relaxed. I can also see that in Never Let Me Go or Fahlanruk. it just seems unnatural...or you could say that they obviously don't want to do it

I'm not certain if it's greenscreen but it's definitely two composed shots. You can see the mouthes disappear in each other without movement. it's quite bizarre

I totally agree. Some tropes have overstayed their welcome. Way too many BL suffer from one dimensional female characters with no other purpose than starting some conflict between the two ML. The penultimate episode curse is way too common. I love me some drama with DRAMA. Luckily I am not one who gets offended by "toxic" actions. I acknowledge that this isn't how one should act in real life and that's that. It shouldn't stop ones enjoyment in general. It's like with soap operas you want the escandolo sometimes. Or when you have a good villain. You know they are the bad guy but that doesn't take away from your entertainment.

First of THANK YOU for understanding what I was trying to say haha. I believe the term "toxic" is thrown around way too often and therefore has lost most of it's meaning. What is a drama without any drama? Of course there is always a danger of being controversial for the shock value.
Was 'Close to You' quite extreme at some points? Yes. But I was also established from the start as Yong Jie wasn't shy of stalking and assaulting someone else. There were many elements playing into his behaviour. His obsession of Xing Si and The family dynamic with his stepfather and his desire to bring them together by focusing all the hate on him. Does it justify what he did? No. But it explains his motivation.
The big question is: was it necessary? Was is just there to shock us? Did it develop the story any further?
I believe a story like this can be pulled of by focusing on the fallout and filling the gaps in the backstory bit by bit without the distraction of a second couple and by using it as a starting point like in 'Together with Me. I believe it had some structural Problems. But I also can see the merits and I enjoyed my time despite some problems that I had.

After 'Trapped' my other favourite HIStory part is Season 2 'Right or Wrong'. As the title suggest it's about the walking the line between right and wrong and deciding for oneself what it is.

I Think the dramas that aren't black and white and give us something to discuss and think are the more interesting ones. I mean I love my fluffy BL as much as the next one but just fluff will get boring at least for me.

I did mention them. I said History4 and Obsession. And I did watch most of the History dramas.
It's obvious now that you only read what you want to read. I wasn't looking for a gotcha moment just clarification but nevertheless you gave plenty. And FYI if you refer to those two as toxic and the rest as not then most aren't toxic.

I don't care about your definition of toxic. All I was asking which HIStory story you were refering to as "toxic filth".
It took me three messages to get that answer.
You want to discuss toxicity I wanted to know which HIStory dramas you were refering to because as in my original question I know there are problems with two of them and I wanted to know if you were refering to them. But it seems those two are clouding the rest as now "most of the history dramas are toxic". I know the problems of those two so there is nothing further from my side to discuss.
