I have a TXT concert to attend and yet I rushed to watch this and post a review because this drama and their main couple have completely captured me.
So some points I wrote down as I was watching (I don't think I am sane...):
* Ah Jaemin, of course you were going the classical double suicide route. NGL Kim Ho Young portrayed Jaemin very well, I seariously got scared of him this time, I thought he was going to chase Da On around the house when he managed to set himself free.
*Lost it at Suhyeon and Seonghyeon teaming up to save Da on.
*I really liked how neither Suhyeon or Seonghyeon save Da on, he frees himself, yes they both intervene at the end but Idk that was a nice gesture. I also noticed Suhyeon steps away when Daon finally rushes towards them. At the moment it mattered most, he saw he had failed to protect him. Either that and that, Daon rushed towards the person he fees safer with, and that was Seong hyeon. Really liked the stabbing scene, I know Seonghyeon was not going to die but both actors were on point.
*Battle of the toxic people part 2, maybe all Suhyeon really needed to wake up from his own obsession, was someone calling him a coward, and staring at someone abusive and toxic like he was behaving hismelf(Jaemin during the police scene). After that moment he really had the wake-up moment, realizing his time passed, he was a coward when it mattered the most, and it's time to step aside.
* I laughed at Daon rushing to win the bid all covered in blood, yes, but it's yet another example of how Seong hyeong always puts Daon's feelings and wishes first, an extreme one though.
*The fluff at the end, they were so goddamn adorable, I thank this drama for at least giving us 10 minutes of full on fluff on my favorite couple. The cinema scene, all the picture moments. Ah it felt so deserving. Also the cake scene, that made me smile.
* Kim Jun Seo I hope you have a prolific drama career, whether WEi his it bigger or not. He really portrayed Da on so well, specially when at the beginning it looked like he was having a full panic attack. Also when he looks upwards at Seong hyeong with those big eyes, like you get why people are obsessed with this boy.
* Same to Cha Jung Woo, he had a difficult character and for his limited experience he portrayed Suhyeon really well. Specially enjoyed his final moment with Jaemin, I think he shined a lot in this drama and can't wait for what he does next.
I am going to miss this drama, and probably it hasn't hit me it's over yet. Anyway, I will write a proper review later for it because they deserve it.
I think the craziest part of the series is the end of episode flashbacks. Whoever came up with this storytelling…
this is the first flashback that didn't end with me smiling fondly. I couldn't pinpoint what it was but I think you did, there's something eerie in this flashback and it's probably because sultry it gives us clues about Jaemin's personality.
Suhyeon really feels he got worse from how he was 7 years ago, but Jaemin feels like he really was this way from that time.
Since IMO none of them are in love with Daon at all, maybe they could have worked together. there's some feeling of camaraderie that I get when they are in a scene together.
I just remembered someone commenting how Daon's fit office clothes 'dont fit' him but i knew him as an idol first…
LOL. When this drama started airing I got curious and checked WEi and I was surprised by how fit Junseo is. Couldn't even believe he was the maknae. He does have the pretty face but no wonder they drown in his clothes to make him appear more like the manhwa Daon and not like he could break Suhyeon and Jaemin with a single punch.
I'm just here to remind people that Da On was groomed for 11 years by Jae Min, became co-dependant on a fucking…
I really enjoy coming here and finding some comments like this one.
It makes me realize stuff I didn't take into consideration while watching. I was going desperate when I saw him going to the parking lot like that, but it makes a lot of sense taking into consideration how prevalent Jaemin was during Daon's formative years. How much Daon feels he owns Jaemin. He probably has just excused what happened that night.
Maybe this is why he can stand up against Suhyeon (after all he "abandoned" him 7 years ago - according to Daon - ) but not against Jaemin. In fact, I think Daon's evolution, for the limited time this drama has, is really well done.
Edit: Grammar and the English language being my biggest enemies.
Still watching Ep. 7.It's feeling SUPER rushed, and they're skipping over things that need a lot more time. For…
This is why I think we deserve BL's that at least run 12 episodes or 16 like any K-drama (or just make them longer FFS).
I feel we are rushing from one scene to the other, and while they are trying to have some sort of coherent story but they have so little time it feel very rushed.
I share many of your doubts, specially when they just let Jaemin leave the hospital like that. But IMO, Jaemin did not give up, I think he is just pretending he did and he is the one that actually kidnapped Daon. I think they are trying to surprise us, by pointing at how Suhyeon is planning to do something, but by tomorrow they will be all "aha!" and Suhyeon was probably just planning on stopping the bid altogether, and Jaemin was the one that *pretended* to leave but was actually a lie and now he kidnapped Daon.
I think the one that uploaded the suspicious message was the dude that got beaten by Suhyeon, you know? The one that tried to take Daon's pictures? If my memory doesn't fail me the message says at one point that the CEO (Suhyeon) stopped some business deal because of Daon, or something like that. But I can be wrong because I don't remember correctly.
This still doesn't excuse the rushed feel Korean BL dramas get when they are less than 10 episodes long and they have to solve plot points at the speed of light.
Yall are too hard on Seonghyeon. "I keep saying I'll keep waiting but what if you actually don't come?" This man…
...I mean I agree, it makes total sense he is getting tired and probably feels like he is getting played again and again. He was waiting for hours, in the cold (I guess that's how he got sick), anyone would be angry if they cannot reach the other person and he shows up with a hickey. Specially because before that Daon has telling him to just give up already and even before that he told him he is the kind of person that would go with someone else when he wanted (or something like that). It does make sense but damn it does hurt that it happened at that moment when Daon had probably made up his mind.
I'm all in with my boy Sunghyeon but today he behaved extremely dumb. Like let Daon finish, dude, you can tell he is agitated, and for you to always be so worried about him, when you see him arriving running and with a hickey like maybe give him the benefit of doubt like you always do. I still love you my boy, you are the best but you made me suffer so much.
In exchange for their miscommunication we got some delicious angst and pinning moments, but I hate when people don't communicate properly and they make each other suffer. We also got the beautiful scene at the hill with Sunghyeon being his normal self and hyping Daon. I don't know if I like that they are taking their time with them because I was begging for a kiss or a hug, but I will let them cook this relationship.
So did the toxic alliance work or not? I seriously doubt Jaemin was "Oh so crazy and self harm didn't work, time to go byeeee", and a couple of things in this episode tell me he either associated with Suhyun or he is working by himself but I am positive he is the one that kidnapped Daon. I thought Suhyun was probably going to just let the bid fall by doing something reckless but not the kidnapping. Either they are in it together or it's Jaemin.
I know Alan Park is probably not going to survive but I need him to survive somehow. And I think our squad leader is going to go too.
I love how it has reached a point in which they are all starting to hallucinate because no way you can be sane when everything is falling apart around you like that.
A lot of people are commenting on how the husband said that they should put MORE EFFORT, but the original subtitles…
thank you very much for explaining. giving that the Yeoms appear to be very traditional that makes a lot of sense.
I low-key think there's a chance Eunnam is pregnant from Dongju, even if months seems to have passed and we haven't seen much change in her, but if they had gone to an actual clinic this was not possible.
Yes HID assuring Mr. Yeom this time for sure i got him in every episode and then his pikatchu " oh i dont got…
And then in the preview when HID's wife says"I want you to kill Seo Dongju" I really want in the next episode for HID to go all "Nope, can't be done, I tried three times already".
Man I will want nothing else than the chairman to not have dementia, he is one of the few characters I truly like.
Oh I thought the bike matched Seonu's bike colour and was like "Oh so father and son meet".
It's all a mess now. So DeokHui is now asking for SDJ's death, just for a change. Director Yeom just threw away…
At this rate I think HID should consider like Idk dropping a whole building on SDJ. Maybe that will work.
I understood that Director Yeom wants to take over the Daesan group that is more worth it than two trillion? Which is why he is prompting HID to kill SDJ and also take over the company as quick as possible. And also because I guess he still believes SDJ has amnesia and will never recover the password.
Me at the start of the episode: Yes Eunnam doing stuff, finally realizing the idea of marrying Yeom's nephew was dumb and calling for divorce. Yes! Me at the end: NO BUT MY GIRL!? Don't go to a known murderer house at night without telling anyone, alone, after having send all the evidence that is on your phone and can be wiped out if they try. Eunnam?! EUNNAM?! There's a B plan right? RIGHT?
Thoughts and stuff: - HID and his scheming self, I love how President Cha just doesn't like him, and he keeps doing everything to sit on that chair. - HID not being able to kill Dong ju, is a joke at this point. Like just give up man, he is NOT going down. -So someone, I am guessing Dong ju, changed the password, and gave them the wrong code because this family is dumb enough to NEVER change the code to something they set themselves or something. -Eunnam telling her husband like it is "I am just a trophy in your dumb competition with Dong Ju". -Eunnam is possibly pregnant, I thought the whole baby thing would have been forgotten but the way they brought it back to the conversation makes me think it will happen, and all the "oh no she is not eating she doesn't feel well, HAHA but we went to the --shop-- (wait it was a clinic?! cos I read herbal shop and I was very?) and definitely not pregnant" it's the type of conversation that makes me weary they are trying to divert my attention to be all "aha!" later on. (Also the time in this show is weird and Dongju was missing for months, but then he wasn't but was he?)
I feel this was a transition episode towards the last part of the story that is coming later on. I love how they try to make it in the preview of episode 9 like Eunnam will be in danger, but let's be real, they are not killing the female lead unless it's at the last episode if ever. It also looked like she went somewhere she is supposed to be safe, but I didn't catch where. And was that our chairman riding his son bike?
I take it that he's a VERY straightforward character. He doesn't defend, he goes on attack. He put the ring there…
...OH I didn't take into consideration he could be connected to HID, that would be a blast. imagine if he is his son or something. that would be really melodramatic.
but I am not tripping right? like she did had a motive to marry the family designed guy, right? at this rate I will have to rewatch episodes 1 and 2.
