I have tried and I think I will finish it because it's only 8 episodes and it goes by very fast, but maybe this is the weakest Japanese BL I've watched this year. I don't think is the low-budget production, Futtara Doushaburi also didn't have an exuberant budget, but there's something that isn't grabbing me. Ngl there are time when their chemistry is good, but overall, not even Dai's cameo makes it higher than a 7
Adorable, I wish more dramas will give you a special episode this sweet showing you how their life as a couple worked out after sometime, since most of them are keen to end when they confesss
I KNEW SeonWoo WASN'T joking when he pushed him the first time. But maybe it took a bit of time to get enough…
I think we are the only ones rooting for SDJ and Dr.Kang, when I saw her the first time I really thought they were going to try something, but probably they didn't have enough episodes to introduce a second romantic interest.
Regarding Seonwoo, I agree with all of that. Yet I still think maybe he would have been somehow OK if he had keep on being just a baker boy, and that, in a sense, the Cha family corrupted him even more until he ended like them.
And yeah, I laughed when YEN was all "So you killed him" *Thumbs up* Good job babe and he looks really horrified by that thought. Also shows that she is a Cha too.
I KNEW SeonWoo WASN'T joking when he pushed him the first time. But maybe it took a bit of time to get enough…
Seonwoo becoming a killer is in the Cha's genes after all, he really takes after his family, more than the other younger ones. At first, I thought Taeyan's idea of leaving the family was Seonwoo influencing him all along, but nah, that was still too slow for him. But since I have zero sympathy for the Cha's, you go Seonwoo, ruin that family.
I liked the somehow subtle clues Woomin added to the character, specially when he sees Deok Hui abusing his mom he doesn't do anything, which was weird to me, and yet when he finally walks in and helps his mom, the look is of total fury, so he has been planning this revenge for quite a long time.
I agree, the actual revenge between SDJ and YJS is great, and it's also surprising. I was expecting him to kill him, but this was much, much better.
Why some people are just not thankful,Dongju helped that that woman and Chairman's son to enter the house, the…
There were clues Seonu didn't trust the Cha's, but in NO WAY did I think he was going to push Taeyan to death like that. Dude the guy was about to leave the family, just let him go.
Add this to the never-ending list of Cha Woomin villainous roles. The boy can't catch a break.
This was the weirdest way to end the drama ever. In the sense that I was not expecting the structure of this episode, nonetheless it worked. I wished they had taken time to flesh out some plots but well
I was not disappointed by the vengeance inflicted to YJS, actually I did not expect it, but upon thinking about it, I loved it. Cruel and to the point. They stripped him of everything he loved until he only loved being able to walk in the sun again. They took away everything that made YJS who he was.
Drama, you cannot forget you had Eunnam for like 10 episodes, and then decide Eunnam is also part of the company, and not only that, she is amazing at mergers and business in general, she should totally be the next president. This is a payout out of nothing. If we had actually seen Eunnam trying to raise her ranks in the company, but being denied again and again by the fact she is a woman, I would be applauding this ending in which SDJ tells her she is the best option, but not like this.
For SDJ this ending makes a lot of sense, you just want to get away of all that insanity. The vengeance was OK. He made peace with his past lover and with his terrible dad. And it even ends with a hopeful note because Eunnam paints herself alongside SDJ in the yatch, so it's her time to do the chasing.
But boy did the Seonu-Taeyan thing took me by surprise. Like I really thought they were bonding together. But thinking retrospectively I am glad all that foreshadowing that Seonu was planning something, all those hints, were for something, like he was actually plotting a revenge on his own.
Anyway 7/10. It had it's good moment. The Ildo-SDJ plot was perfect and probably my favourite part.
this was such a great drama but clearly having to fill 16 eps is not doing them any good. the back and forth in…
Completely agree. I always thought you have to be very sure you need 16 episodes of a drama, because a lot of times I find this lenght is what kills a lot of them, like from episode 7-12, they just don't know how much of the story to advance, and very easily they become confused and confuse the viewers. In Buried Hearts case, what happened is that they repeated the same pattern (Dongju about to be killed-he somehow survives) like three times.
Hey , you can enjoy the series nothing wrong with that I’m also enjoying it a lot , I just wish the story was…
Absolutely! Not complaining others don't like it at all! And I am always willing and open to discuss it. I can find things I don't like about it, for example, I find Chanyoung's character really badly written. And also the pace is very over the place in episode 6 for being a shorter episode than 5. And that episode 5 treated deeper themes than 6.
Wow, reading the comments I feel I am alone enjoying this series. I take this as a youth drama, with a dash of BL and a dash of het couple. Maybe I am also lucky because I have not read the manhwa it's based on, so I started watching with no expectations.
Episode 6, to me, was not as strong as 5, but it had the ending scene which is one of my favorite moments.
The cat is finally out of the bag. Heesu has had his heart broken, but, as he hints at the last dialogue, he already knew it was an impossible wish, just like when people wish upon shooting stars. Jiyu and Chanyoung are really cute. And Jiyu is such a good friend to Seungwon, to me even a better friend than Chanyoung is to Heesu (But I blame the fact that they have given Chanyoung zero personality - being the actor not being as good as the other three or just that he is an afterthought for the writers - IDK).
Plenty of fluff scenes between Heesu and Seungwon, though, and they are hilarious. I love how Seungwon is like the calm one after Heesu's always being pure chaotic energy. The little "Where are you going with the rice cooker" his surprise when he finds Heesu eating the whole restaurant? How supportive he is when Heesu realizes they have been scammed, everything, makes me love this boy so much.
The last scene has my heart. I think is great Seungwon didn't confess right there, Heesu was hurt and him confessing would have probably ended up the wrong way. Only adding to that confusion, Heesu is feeling. BUT INSTEAD, we got cute Seungwon fascinated by shooting starts and our space-boy-freak ditching the shooting stars and staring at Seungwon with a fond smile. I think he is actually falling for Seungwon.
It's creating a group of characters that are lovely, and that have me very invested.
This episode we had;
Heesu: His thoughts when he arrived home hit hard. The whole "Do people get mad at me because I am different? Am I the problem? Do I make people uncomfortable because I am the different one?" that was breathtaking. I understand people's frustration because he is quite thick not getting Seungwon is in love with him, but this is a boy that has told us before he is not the main character even in his own life, the last think he is going to entertain is someone (a class president and school's number two model student) is interested in himself. They had an adorable date. But to me the highlight of episode 5 is when Heesu invites Seungwon to his house, and learns Seungwon has two moms. When he finally realises there is one person that makes him feel at ease and that understands him. I loved that moment.
Seungwon: I love this boy, who is confident and shy, who defends Heesu and yet malfunctions when Heesu is around. We saw him having a lonely life and wishing to have a family like Heesu does. That morning scene when he shares breakfast with Heesu's sister and he smiles all happily made me emotional.
I loved how Heesu and Seungwon bonded while cleaning Seungwon's place, and loved the banter and everything.
Even Chanyoun got his own conflict; he loves tennis, but since he is not the best, his father sees nothing of value in this, and wants him to quit. He will never ever be his brother. And then there's Jiyu who supports him even if he is not number one. I was even rooting for them to meet and go to the theme park.
And then Jiyu who, so far it's the only character without a conflict, but who today was so supportive of Seungwon I loved her a lot. She and Heesu are somehow alike, and it was really beautiful to watch her, Seungwon and Heesu hanging out.
Really, I am falling in love with this drama. Episode 4 was kind of slow, but Episode 5 was amazingly good.
OMG the cheek of Chairman Cha! So he MADE the killing happen and allowed/planned it with Yeom, but now he's going…
Chairman Cha is just a Seonwu fan at this point. He just adores his kid.
I have to agree that was the coldest hug ever, I was even thinking, maybe the actors don't get along? But you are right, it's probably that their family has killed their passion for each other. As SDJ said, they were just the puppets of their parents problems.
I am quite unsure this drama knows this is the second to last episode, and I feel it will be too late to solve this satisfyingly, but I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Basically what I think could work is the following: Dongju playing side Chairman Cha, by saying he will support his son, and side Deokhui, by saying he will support her son, and convincing both of them to appoint him new CEO of Daesan energy. Kicking YJS out of Daesan. And then when the moment of truth comes, Seonu vs Taeyang, he chooses none, and somehow becomes the chairman himself. This doesn't work, partially because Dongju is a good man, he seems to genuinely want to help Chairman Cha (Which doesn't make much sense, didn't this man kind of participated in the death of Ildo and the almost death of Dongju?). And also because I think he ultimately wants his way out of the whole mess.
At first I thought the whole episode 16 would be a war between YJS and SDJ trying to outsmart each other and get Daesan, but then the end kind of kicked me in the face, because SDJ just kidnaps YJS and keeps him away from a whole month. So now I have no idea what can happen at the end.
And last, I really think Seonu doesn't give a damn about Daesan, but he cares more about taking revenge on the Cha's, who he thinks are humiliating his mom. He looks furious when he helps his mom stand up after Deokhui and her fought, and he seems very angry when he gets told Dongju was basically lying to him, and at the end he is going to help his half-brother. Maybe he can do both, become the next CEo and avenge the Cha's, which, you know what?, good for you baker boy.
I particularly don't care about Seonu or the Cha's, and I only want Dongju to walk away from these power hungry idiots.
What now, is Chairman Cha REALLY making DeokHui give up TaeYun's shares so that there's no chance SDJ gets them?!…
Chairman Cha descending into evilness was not what I was expecting, also his total obsession with the blood, and who is pure blooded and who is mixed blooded you would think he owns a horse breeding farm. I hope Seonwoo is just a terrible heir and he destroys Daesan group. The kid couldn't care less anyway.
Completely forgot about how YEN marrying the prosecutor thing ended up being for nothing, and that she told SDJ to marry another woman. I low-key want that to happen, even if it happens in flash forward manner.
I also think the revenge was a little bit of a letdown, and that there were many mistakes made from both parts, like you said, they could have followed SDJ, is not like the dude hides where he goes. Or sneaks out of the Cha's house. I also don't think the livestream matters a lot to bring YJS down, but we will see in episode 15.
SDJ bringing down Daesan, marrying someone else, and living happily is what I wish for an ending, but who knows what will happen.
To me, this drama deflated like a souffle the moment the SDJ past was made clear, and they killed off Ildo. To me the highlight was probably all the interactions between Dongju and HID.
A redemption for HID was not necessary, to be fair I don't think he got that, but suddenly SDJ is ready to forgive him, and while a he probably feels regret about never having meet his dad,I am not buying that suddenly he wants to avenge his dad death too.
The romance is not romancing anymore, either. What happened with the chemistry between SDJ and YEN? Where did it go? I totally understand if YEN tells him she needs time, but that's not what bothers me, it's the fact that there's no passion, no pain, no want between them, at this point it's both of them with flat faces not even looking at each other.
I would have to rewatch the ending because I was dozing off over the whole revenge over YJS (WHERE IS MY KOPIKO?) . I think I totally misunderstood, this is a NIS ex-agent right? I thought his biggest weak point would be losing the power he has from the shadows, not tarnishing his public image. I guess both t things work because the Elder will probably cut him off. Still, to me, it felt very anticlimatic.
Eunnam's been made to practice the word "Dongju-ah" to perfection. Cause that is all she says with conviction.…
We are in the trenches to the point is ridiculous. Did I imagine it or did Eunnam also tell Dongju that she needs time? After knowing who his father is.
Mme Ji, SeonWoo's mom, is actually Mme Chu, also SeongHyeon's mom. That look she threw to HID was highly suspicious.…
IMO the writers focused so much on the HID-SDJ plot that they left so many other things unanswered or disregarded it's not going to work. I completely forgot HID also knows about Seonu's mom and YSH being in cahoot! The writers totally distracted me with good acting and I forgot many things aren't making sense anymore.
HID sucks at assassination, but part of me wants to think this man was never the killer YSH wanted him to be (and then I get reminded he did kill three people - although effectively just two).
DeokHui might even be more cold-blooded than her husband. Didn't she admit she was absolutely OK with HID killing his husband, supposed lover and son? Chills.
I never expected Chairman Cha to escalate so quickly from "I love SDJ" to "Naw, you know, kill him". But I guess this man has become really paranoid , since it was so hard for him to bring his son into Daesan. And now he is ready to eliminate anyone that would threaten his son. I am also guessing YSH told him about how HID killed Deokhui's husband and he would probably not hesitate to kill Seonu. But I can only speculate. What happened to the sweet old man?!
Give all the awards to Park Hyun Sik and Lee Hae Young. They hard carried all the episode emotional, and by far, best scenes.
There was something so satisfactory about that first scene of them together in HID's room. The fact that SDJ is bathed in light and HID is in the shadows. I love how they'll be telling one thing, how SDJ is cynical, and wants to hurt HID, and deep down you can see how much he was a reaction, anything from this man , that he has been waiting a lifetime to be recognized (Obviously not by HID, but by his dad). HID tries to come out like a man without remorse, that doesn't feel guilt, but deep down you can tell he feels so extremely guilty he is thinking of killing himself, and so past forgiveness the was he protects himself is by trying to be a cold-murder that he is not.
This paired up with the last scene together. It was great to hear how SDJ is half-joking, half-serious about that what if situation. What if I was drinking with my dad, what will my dad tell me, and he looks so heartbroken over the fact he cannot forgive HID and yet he wants to be saying those things. Masterfully acted by both. I love how HID comes out as aloof, and yet he tries to get drunk. And then the last act, when he finally manages to save his son and finally has success in something.
Whether they choose to save or to kill HID I will be extremely satisfied. This was, by far, my favorite plot of these series, and it ended really satisfactory for me.
The other thing I really like is YJS snake like plots, I love how he turns every fail into an opportunity, that's a true snake.
Also glad to see my boy Taeyun with his never-ending SDJ crush. He does have more chemistry with him than YEN (To which I apologize, but I haven't liked Hong Hwa Yeon's acting since episode 2).
FINALLY!!!!!! About freaking time, too!! By this time, poor SDJ's mind gotta be almost cracking. First he hears…
I read that one but at this point if it's true I feel Yeom is just playing inter-dimensional chess with all of us. The man had his nephew, HID and now Seonu's mom all ready to take over Daesan.
I mean that really ruins Taeyun's crush expectation!Jokes apart, I've seen the preview and it looks like TaeYun will start doing more stuff (apart from ramyeon) in the next episodes. I doubt he will end up being an antagonist but who knows.
The episode 12 was dull, this is why I don't like 16 episodes drama. They always add fillers. And the FL has one…
I waited for the gran reveal of the father to have more punch that it did, something in the editing of the ending was confusing to me. Maybe 12 episodes would have condensed the story line better.
I also find Hong Hwa Yeon very stiff these past episodes, like I feel she acted better at the beginning of this drama.
I don't think is the low-budget production, Futtara Doushaburi also didn't have an exuberant budget, but there's something that isn't grabbing me.
Ngl there are time when their chemistry is good, but overall, not even Dai's cameo makes it higher than a 7
