This drama is going strong for me..the story build up continues to be engaging...and I love that the pacing is fast but fast enough to make sure you aren't missing anything....the acting is good and the chemistry between between the leads is so natural...the characterisation and development is interesting...I can go on and on
It's like the worst of evil cast reunion....Iam only an episode in and Iam getting goosebumps from the acting....and the story it's self....can't wait for more
Yan zijing's reaction to the possible death of his sister actually bought tears to my eyes..like he was getting teary eyed but at the same time doubtful...and then when it finally hit and he lost control.... goosebumps...hearts off to the actor...for potraying the emotions in a detailed manner....I also loved how every one was trying to hold him back and stop him and then Duan Wu came and just hugged him because that's the comfort he needed at the moment....that was my highlight in episode 13.
In the scene where Kang Ju tells Duan Wu that she and Yan Zijing are alike..she agrees and says that both of them live with hate and are consumed by revenge...he then replies to her and says he does but you don't...it’s a powerful moment that highlights their contrasting motivations.. While both characters have faced immense hardship and harbor feelings of hatred, their responses to that hatred differ significantly. Yan Zijing is consumed by his desire for vengeance, believing that he can only find peace by making those who wronged him pay. In contrast, Duan Wu, despite her own hatred, seeks a way out of her painful past and yearns for a peaceful life. She reflects on how, had her father been alive, she would have built a life filled with love and freedom, indicating her willingness to set aside her hatred for a chance at happiness.
This distinction is crucial; Duan Wu's journey is about healing and seeking a better future, while Yan Zijing's path is rooted in revenge. Yet, what’s compelling is that Duan Wu is willing to support Yan Zijing in settling his grudges because she understands the depth of his pain. In doing so, she not only helps him confront his past but also starts to awaken his capacity for love, suggesting that even in the darkest circumstances, there is a possibility for redemption and connection.
Iam supposed to like kind of hate cui Shi Jiu but I low-key feel bad for her..like she's turning into this horrible person because she's yearning to be recognised..and not just seen as a girl..she wants to leave a mark but is always facing criticism because of her gender....I would love to see how her character is developed in the coming episodes for now rather than annoying she's pitiful
When he said.." she wants to do things on her own and thats why I want to help her because many people out their are living miserable lives but they can't even lift a finger to get themselves out of those lives..but she's working hard for it..." the moment I heard these words...I got won over...it's beautiful to see that he understands her situation and also sees her trying..and acknowledges it.....and is more than willing to help..I had my issues with him in the beginning but he's actually turning out to be a favourite....
plus I love when leads in a drama are placed on equal footing without one out shining the other...we have a smart, tough, quick witted and principled male lead and a smart, strong willed and brave female lead... together they are a powerful duo so I appreciate how both of their strengths as well as weaknesses are highlighted...this was a major reason why I loved rise of Ning and it's a reason Iam loving this as well...can't wait for more episodes
