So i guess the scriptwriter changed the ending to draw parallel with YBY and Rong Chang Qing's story. RCQ was…
My interpretation is that YBY transferred his own energy to WKX. Therefore, when WKX gave his life force so ZZS could learn the Liu He Shen Gong, YBY's took over so WKX could learn it too.
tbh it's pretty on brand for YBY to be just messing with him-- it was a test to see what WKX would answer. I think I read somewhere that transferring your life force is difficult, and without being willing to give it your all, it's possible that you don't have the strength to last through the process.
I don't understand for the ending, did the bad guys die? We see them running from the avalanche so some probably…
I'm guessing they all died. In the end, when adult Cheng Ling is telling the story to his disciples, he says that the Scorpion King and Zhao Jing are buried in the snow together forever. If they didn't make it, I doubt anyone else could.
He also recognized Qian Qiao. I think there's a big possibility he knows of her skills given she learned it from his master & she could have disguised the body.
However, the thing that I don't understand is that if he understood it was a scheme, I'm not sure why he would take out the nails or find Zhao Jing for revenge.
Just like most people, I'm also angry at WKX for what he did in ep 32. But am i the only one who was this angry…
For some reason I felt a little more neutral about ep 12-14. They were still keeping secrets from each other back then; they weren't at this stage in their relationship yet.
The problem I have with WKX in ep 32 is the fact that he's disregarding their mutual trust, and it seems like he never considered the level of ZZS' devotion / what ZZS would do-- aka removing the nails. That's way more dangerous than any mourning WKX does in ep 14.
It stores medicine/herbs to heal injuries and extend life for a half of a week. The great Chaman gives ZX in the…
I didn't like that cut either-- it drew a lot of attention to it. I'm not a super detailed viewer, and even I saw it. x) At least they could've changed the camera work a little or have ZZS slip it back into his robe.
my one complaint with this drama is the fact that they spent wayyy too much time on the side characters, especially…
I agree with your comments! I too want more WenZhou screen time & personally could not care less for Zhao Jing. Although the one scene of him pissing on Rong Xuan's altar-thing really shocked me-- I thought it was a powerful moment.
I think the problem was episodes 21-27 or so dragged a little too much, and then in 28-32 things went a little too fast. First both WKX and ZZS recover from their wounds so quickly; I barely had time to orient myself before they were up and doing things again. The second-- it cuts from Scorpion making a deal with WKX, then the entire showdown happens. It feels like only a day passed before putting the plan into motion?
I think Youku replied saying they're working on re-editing 31 and 32 already, so I'm looking forward to that!…
Yeah, they're at the point where they've already come clean with each other; WKX hiding something so big from ZZS and facing the 5 Alliances himself goes against what I understand of their relationship.
Like if this is the case, did WKX not consider what ZZS would do / if that might put him in danger? aka taking out the nails-- which is probably going to end in a disaster?
So when do y'all think ZZS figured out that WKX was the leader of Ghost Valley? Given his reaction to YBY, it seems like he already knew to some degree, and his answer is ambiguous-- "not early enough, but not too late either."
Do you think he already knew, or he had suspicions but they were only confirmed at that moment? Do you think he figured it out before he realized that WKX was part of the Zhen family?
I got the feeling that he knew when WKX told them he was going to find someone to fix the painting, but I can't pinpoint an exact moment...
Can someone explain to me the Ghost Valley? Like are the "Ghosts" actually dead and stuck in the middle between…
From my understanding, they're basically like a sect full of people who are outcasts in society. There's a book that records who they were before joining Ghost Valley, which becomes important in the next few episodes they're releasing. I think I remember it was mentioned that Hanging Ghost was called Xue Fang, a criminal who committed notorious crimes for 30 years, and Beauty Ghost, Qian Qiao was disfigured by Yu Qiu Feng's wife, hence they all joined Ghost Valley because they had nowhere else to go.
Is this positive or are they translating the comments and reporting it to authorities (hope not!)?
they're positive from what I see! most of them are like "haha it's so funny" or "they have the same opinion as me" or "how do they know we call him wife" lmao
Some people say the bromance dies down halfway??? I really hope not!!!!
The bromance definitely doesn't die down halfway haha. The dynamic just changes-- we no longer have flirty WKX, & it's ZZS who becomes the more forward one. They're still just as caring as they are to each other in the beginning-- it's sort of the difference between when you just start dating versus being in a serious relationship.
It's unfortunate how this CP has completely lost the flirtatious, the fun edge and pretty much seem like brothers…
As much as it pains me to say this, I agree with some of what you said.
I don't blame the writer for including the Shi-di / Shi-Xiong thing, because technically they only met in passing-- but at the same time, I wish it didn't exist at all. Their relationship was really progressing beautifully until that point. Now, ZZS seems to only refer to WKX as Shi-di (especially during touching moments) & the reciprocation of ZZS' love (at least physically) seems to align with this revelation, so it seems like he's only returning WKX's love only after finding this out. They've effectively switched places, with ZZS being the more forward one driven by this storyline, and as a result, it's taken away a little bit of the magic out of the relationship for me.
The past few episodes have been a little aimless-- it seems like the characters don't have much to do. I think they're supposed to be a breather while we're waiting for things to really go down, but I feel like it's almost transformed into WKX's story instead of ZZS's, since ZZS doesn't seem to have many motivations left & is looking to settle. Yes, it's because of the nails, but at the same time, he's a main character-- & I'm hoping for a little more in the following episodes.
My Chinese isn't super good; can someone help me fully understand the story Long Que told around ep 19-20?
So there's the moment when Zhen Ruyu tries to get the people at Qingya Mountain to stop fighting, but he fails then the Rong Xuan is killed by the people there. Then the people start hounding the Zhen family for the key to the armory. Eventually, Long Que spreads the rumor for everyone to stop chasing them. Then there's still a big blank in time where we don't know what happens yet and WKX becomes the leader of Ghost Valley.
WKX mentions a fight between the martial arts world and the ghosts in episode 12, does that happen shortly after Rong Xuan's death? Were they fighting for the glazed armor? Given this is what happened, I still don't understand why WKX hates the Five Lake Alliances that much? Were they the ones who kept hunting down the Zhen family for the key?
(Would appreciate if you didn't spoil anything past what's already aired & lmk if it's not revealed yet!)

Just some of my not very eloquent thoughts lmao

I'm also very emotionally invested LOL x)
I too hope that leaving ZZS out of the plan isn't the answer to what happened-- I hope there's more depth than that.
