I'm basically in this for the fight scenes, sets, and costumes now, FF all the rest LOL. And I could care less…
As much as I love the drama so far, I agree with you on the cheesiness thing haha. It feels like the film is targeted towards a younger audience-- teens and young adults (to some degree-- rather than working adults.

They've just released the MV for Tang San's character song and there's LOTS of fight sequences that I'm sure book…
I feel the same way. We're probably going to have to wait 2/3 years at least for the sequel, since they haven't even started filming(?) (plus, there's dubbing & CGI that has to be done afterward, which also has to match the caliber of S1). I feel that the longer the wait the greater chance something goes "wrong"-- like swapping out a main character. I'm going to have a hard time waiting so long, especially if it's a cliffhanger. T-T

Ning Rong Rong has completely stolen my heart lmao. She's the exact personality type I'd hate in any other film, but here, she's just so real & genuine-- I love her so much!!

After reaching episode 15, I think the only thing I don't like about the show so far is that I think Tang San & Xiao Wu's relationship is progressing too fast. I'm not clear how much time has passed since they met, but it feels only like a few months at the most and I think Tang San is way too protective of her, especially since they haven't known each other for that long and Xiao Wu has proven over & over again that she is more than capable of defending herself in most situations. Perhaps, it was a choice for their relationship to develop so fast because of limited screen time, but in episode 15(?) where Tang San barely hesitated saying that he was willing to kill someone to get the antidote for Xiao Wu is so out of character with what I understand about Tang San so far. (as a side note, I'm coming into this knowing nothing about the story & its other versions)

Completed 7 episodes and its simply beautiful...Specially the relationship of Tang san and xiao gang...and ao…
oh my god, I agree with you so much on the tang san & xiao gang relationship. the scene where tang san got on his knees for him was such a powerful moment, it honestly nearly brought me to tears.

What really surprises me about this drama is that I literally don't have a single character I dislike or find…
I agree with you so much on the "cliché but in a good way"! This is the exact genre of coming-of-age fantasy novels/films that were so popular a few years ago (where the MC is the "chosen one" that enters a magical world) before it became overdone & authors moved away from it. It makes the show really nostalgic & warm for me! I hadn't realized how much I missed this type of story. :)

Kudos to the screenwriter so far. I'm highly impressed by the pacing especially, and his ability to make the show new and interesting even following a more typical fantasy story arc.

god, I'm fully invested in this show and I'm so scared that the season will end in a cliffhanger, since others have told me to the original novel is four parts/seasons(?). :( any spoiler-free speculations?
