really pleasantly surprised by the story and the CG. I'm really sad we're getting set up for a love triangle. I love the second ML, it might actually be a deal breaker for me, despite everything else.
Something feels a little off in the way the leads' relationship is developing. It doesn't feel super genuine tbh.
I also really dislike male leads that keep everything to themselves & stew in their own anxiety and guilt and try to fix everything by themselves, & it seems like or ML is gearing up to be like that lmao
I'm really hoping this isn't gearing up for a sibling rivalry plot-- I'm so tired of them. I really want to see good relationships, especially between sisters.
I just hope the casting could be experienced like both male leads word of honor. Cause xie lian and hua cheng's…
I agree! I know they're supposed to look 17, but I don't mind the actors looking older if their acting is better. For younger / more inexperienced actors, I imagine they'd look the part but may not give off the vibe that they're people who've lived hundreds of years.
OMG you guys, Youku has a WOH Ep 06 SPECIAL VERSION queued up on Youtube that will premiere in a few short hours…
I wonder why they picked episode 6? I hope they include the scene when ZZS splashed WKX when they're washing the rabbits that was included in the flashback but not in the episode. x)
airing out some of my thoughts since I reached episode 9: - I like the ML, but not the FL so far. The FL is supposed to be emotionless but it only seems to come up when it's convenient? She seems pretty normal to me. - The plot so far isn't unique / special but it's interesting! - The Loveless mask is really ugly lmao, I wish they styled it differently. Maybe it's to make the viewers want him to take it off as much as he does haha. - The screenwriter has the strange habit of making the characters call each other's names every other line. It's been bothering me for a bit. - I'm watching this after Word of Honor so I can't take Huang You Ming (Wu Tong) seriously-- I keep imagining him as his role in WOH rip
i didn't like it at first, kind of didn't get past 2 episodes when I tried to watch it in 2020, but maybe its…
Word of Honor withdrawal symptoms is too relatable. :')
From my experience, the first few episodes were really confusing (I didn't know anything about the novel or story), but once the flashback begins, it's chronological and makes a lot more sense. It's definitely worth it to stick through the confusing parts-- the rest of the story is amazing! The first time I watched it, I don't think I got hooked until episode 10 or something.
XZ talked about how he was excited he could finally pick scripts & that he was going to take his time picking a good one. Since he chose this drama to act in, I'm really looking forward to the storyline & the characters-- I bet it's going to be awesome! :)
So i guess the scriptwriter changed the ending to draw parallel with YBY and Rong Chang Qing's story. RCQ was…
I noticed the talking style too! I thought it was hilarious lmao, usually WKX is a huge softie towards ZZS & has never talked to him like that. The side mouth smile is such a good detail; I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. It's pretty adorable that a little bit of YBY lives on in WKX after he passes. :')
One thing that bothers me a bit about the ending is that throughout the story ZZS' dream was to revive Four Seasons Manor, but then they ended up just...leaving? Like what happened to those disciples WKX took in? ZZS barely taught his sect's skills to Cheng Ling; did he pass his knowledge down to anyone else so his sect's martial arts won't be forgotten?
Since the ending shot in the armory they probably never came down from the mountains again-- how / when did they explain to all their friends that "hey, we're immortal now so we're not coming back don't worry about us". Bei Yuan, Wu Xi, and Cheng Ling for sure deserve an explanation. I just can't imagine that scene lmao.
