​So many contract marriages and past life/reincarnation dramas lately.Contract Marriages: Perfect Marriage Revenge, My Demon, Park's marriage contractPast life/reincarnation: See you in my 19th life, Destined with you, A good day to be a dog, Moon in the Day, My Man is Cupid, Kinda Park's marriage contract, and SPOILER: it seems like My Demon might be going down this road as wellI do not mind contract marriages at all. I kinda like them. They add a lot of drama and yearning to the story. And Perfect Marriage Revenge was definetly not bad but had their romance as a side story.As for past life/reincarnation... I was suuuuper excited for See you in my 19th life because I wished for a reincarnation drama. Sadly, this was not the one for me. Destined with you was okay and not great. A good day to be a dog is better than I thought it would be, but the reincarnation story is currently a side plot. Moon in the Day is okay, a bit boring. My Man is Cupid just started. I wanted reincarnation stories so badly and now there are so many but none of them are great🥲 Or should I say not the reincarnation drama I wished for. Good acting, a gripping story and a lot of yearning. The problem is... if they use the past life trope and don't do it properly. For example, using it just to make the love between the leads seem "deeper'. But that doesn't save lacking chemistry, underdeveloped or too perfect characters. It may be that my standards are too high and that's why I am unable to enjoy them. It could be as well that none of these dramas did it in a new and exciting way. It feels like their fate to fall for each other and love each other is written in stone and that they have no choice. What about reincarnated characters that fall for someone different in their new life? I don't know.These are just my thoughts and my opinions. Yours could be different :)

Some general thoughts on the drama itself, drinking culture, my highly specific taste and recent dramas 🤭● I don't know... I am not really hooked. Maybe I am just not in the right mood for this drama. The chemistry between the leads is not the best. I love Shin Hye Sun, her acting is amazing. It must be the character she is portraying with whom I am not able to connect. For a drama so heavily focused on characters, it's fatal if I am not able to fully connect to them. ● Plus, I am really picky when it comes to childhood friends to lovers. It's not my cup of tea to always see flashbacks. I prefer to see them develop their feelings first hand and not through flashbacks. Welcome to Samdalri is a second chance romance (Another one is "Our beloved summer"). And second-chance romances have done really well for them to work. It feels like the characters of the ML and FL did not change at all in eight years. Characters meeting again after going through character development is way more interesting. ● So many contract marriages, past life/reincarnation, and childhood friends to lovers lately. I guess I will write my thoughts on the contract marriages and past life/reincarnation in the comment sections of the specific dramas. ● I know Korea has a huge drinking culture. And I am aware that drinking can be a part of a culture (I know that because I am german :) ). Nonetheless, I wish they would take a more serious approach and see the drinking habits of the characters through a more critical lense. These are my thoughts, if yours are different don't be hurt.

I love Jung Yoo Min's acting. Her eyes are very expressing... Apart from that, the drama is way better than I thought it would be

And this is not meant to be mean. I can still see why one would enjoy the drama very much.
PS: The OST "We are" by THE BOYZ is wonderful, you should listen to it

I can't really connect to the story yet. I really like Park Eun Bin. Do you like Brahms and Extraordinary Attorney Woo are one of my favourites. Park Eun Bin has the talent to portray characters and they do feel totally different from one another. So it must really be that I just don't click with Mok Ha. Maybe she is supposed to act childish. But she was awake all time on that island. It's not like in Still 17. I am not currently in the mood for this kind of character. Just like I could not connect with FL of Strong Girl Nam Soon. And the story is somewhat unrealistic... I mean it's a Kdrama and I watched a lot of unrealistic ones and still liked them. But, I can't stop wondering why her teeth are still that white after living without a toothbrush for 15 years and stuff like that. I find it hard to ignore it in this case. And that both Brothers seem to fall for her is unnecessary. But Ki Ho's confession was amazing. Like it's nothing and then going back to do the dishes😂

Hoping it will be directly available on Prime in my Country...

I read about it as soon it was announced here on MDL. I saw the trailers as well and was waiting for a new Kdrama with Choi Hyun Wook and Shin Eun Soo :)

I'm actually really enjoying this. I'm not really interested in the plotline of the politics/murder but I enjoy the characters

Okay I have not read any theories or the webtoon but I just had a thought: Maybe Do Guk went back in time as well... Since she crashed with another car and he rushed to the hospital for his Grandma. Maybe he was in the second car, died and wants to change the future as well🤔

Her character in this show is very sweet and caring. Not loud at all. I would say, pretty different from for example Strong Woman Do Bong Soon...

I was really excited for this show. Sadly I thought the first two episodes were a bit boring. I was looking forward to seeing the SML and SFL story and the time travel. I guess next week is were it is all is going to start. Hopefully it will get better.

The way the story is set up in the pilote episode felt a bit weird and rushed. And as the story goes on it just jumps from scene to scene. Sometimes it was hard to understand the character's choices. That's at least how I felt ...

I know nothing about the original show. I only know that this one wasn't for me. The way the storyline developed and the character dynamics in general were not my taste. Tbh i thought this show would grab my attention more. But no, I was not emotionally invested. Maybe because I expected a different storyline...

Yeah they changed the description. Before it said something about him travelling to the past and meeting his dad.

I guess everyone has a different take on that. For me, a second season is still a continuation and should feel like watching the same show. That's why I think Season 2 is a disappointment. The tone feels different, the dynamic feels different... The writing is not as good. If you do it differently in the second season, you should at least do it good. I do compare both seasons because they both belong to the same show. It's fine if you can seperate it, everyone is different.

Thank you all for your recommendations! The Princess' Man could be really my taste. I already watched the korean version of Scarlet Heart Ryeo. But it has been a really long time. I guess that as I grew older I became more fond of these type of dramas.
