guys have you seen the update about the dvd box on their ig? I can't wait to get it! Not expecting they also include…
Yeeeah, their commentary video on episode 1 is only available for blu-ray version so I was really forced to order the blu-ray even though I have no blu-ray player yet. 😂 They will also hold the online event in May for people who bought the DVD so we can see them in the same frame again in around 3 months, yay!
The amount of stupidity in this one comment radiates someone who did not pay attention."made him feel unhappy…
"LMAO when did Koyama make Hira smile and how much compared to Kiyoi? "
Genuinely curious about this too, I think I've re-watched the series an unhealthy amount of times already but I never had the impression that Koyama made Hira smile. There are times that Hira did smile around Koyama because they are friends and he's polite and thankful towards Koyama but generally I think it doesn't mean that it's the same as Koyama making him smile. Even when Koyama is trying to take a photo of him, he would always suddenly face towards another direction and whenever he's with Koyama his thoughts would usually wander around so yeah, I might need to re-watch for the 89th time to see how Koyama made him smile lol.
I have so many things to point out but the most wrong thing in this is how you said Kiyoi made him unhappy and…
"acting like a child never been in literature class or never read a book."
OMG hahahahahahhaha seriously!!! At some point I was thinking "maybe I should be more thankful to my literature professors for forcing all those complicated and mind-boggling literary works on us back then because otherwise I might be like some of the people who completely missed the point of the drama?" 🤣 I mean I'm just grateful that someone dumb like me understood and appreciated the drama even without having read the novel or listening to the drama CD so I guess all those sleepless nights spent on those readings definitely paid off. 🤣

"All clearly stated in both narration, anyone who paid attention wouldn’t miss. "
Seriously this. Reading some comments like the one you replied to makes me wonder if some people watched the drama without turning on the subs or while muting the audio lol. The screenwriter put all those hints, the director subtly included all those important details and the actors delicately and outstandingly performed the emotions of their characters only for some people to completely miss it. 🤦 But anyway, fortunately as days go by I can see more positive comments about the drama than ones that completely missed the point so oftentimes I just think "oh well, just another person that didn't get it." 😂
It's quite distracting but I believe it was intentional (creative choice of the director) to emphasize how chaotic…
Same here, I think the camera technique they used in that scene was very fitting so I didn't have any thoughts about it until I rewatched the last episode in Viki and saw a lot of people talking about how shaky it is haha! 😂
Was anyone else super distracted by the shaky-cam in the last scenes??? It was a VERY IMPORTANT scene, and I couldn't…
It's quite distracting but I believe it was intentional (creative choice of the director) to emphasize how chaotic and unstable Hira and Kiyoi's feelings/emotions were during that very moment. If the camera was fixed I think it would've given a different vibe.
I'm curious, what do u mean by that *you know* part 😆
I haven't read the novel so I'm not sure if it was there and if it was clearly described if yes, haha! But in the drama it's implied during the end of episode 1 and during episode 2 (when Kiyoi was sitting on Hira's bed and we got a flashback of that scene). Then it was confirmed in episode 3 when Kiyoi told Hira not to use the camera/pictures for weird things like jerking off, and Hira admitted he only did it once LOL
I received my UtsuKare visual book 2 days ago and I think it's important to note that the Kiyoi picture that Hira printed in episode 1 and used to *you know (lol)* was actually taken by Riku himself! <3 We all know they have been taking pictures of each other while shooting the drama to be posted in the UtsuKare official social accounts and to be included in the visual book but I didn't expect that the photo they used in the drama was actually also taken by Riku. I think it's a very nice and personal touch. 😊 Edit: It's stated here, btw: https://ibb.co/W5m18Zb
Hahaha, totally understand where you're coming from! I mean, I have nothing against Koyama as a character (although…
That's definitely my understanding of that scene too! <3 Although I keep on thinking it would have been great if they showed Kiyoi's thoughts on that in the show itself just to minimize some of the hate he's receiving lol (seriously, reading some of the timed comments about Kiyoi in Viki is cringey 😂).
Hahaha, totally understand where you're coming from! I mean, I have nothing against Koyama as a character (although…
No problem, I've been kinda lowkey thinking about it too all this time, I'm a bit relieved actually that I'm not the only one who finds it a bit unusual that Koyama has too much screentime lol. And like you, I find his actor sweet and his character absolutely integral to the story, but since the drama only has 6 episodes of around 20 minutes each like you said, I was also thinking that they didn't have to spend *that* much screentime on Koyama, especially that Hira and Kiyoi as characters plus their dynamics are already too complex so they could have focused more on that especially towards the end of the series. I guess if they spent more time on Kiyoi's POV in episode 5 instead of having the last 5 minutes of the episode focused on Koyama+Hira scenes, less people would have misunderstood/hated Kiyoi. I mean, at least 3 minutes of that could have been spent on showing what Kiyoi was actually thinking when Hira confessed to him the first time (in episode 3), something like why he said he hated Hira, or his thoughts when Hira couldn't answer him right away when he asked him to choose between Koyama and him. 😅 But when I saw that Akira is one of the actors in the play director Mai is directing, I thought "aaaaah maybe that's why"..... XD
Watching it a 4th time, what irks me is how much time is given to Koyama who is, yes, a cutie-pie. But who is…
Hahaha, totally understand where you're coming from! I mean, I have nothing against Koyama as a character (although I'm lowkey facepalming at people who keep on saying he should have ended up with Hira), but he really does have many unnecessary scenes lol. Even that scene of him celebrating his birthday at Hira's house was kinda too long for my liking too (I didn't read the novel or listen to the drama CD so I'm not sure if it was really supposed to be like that?). I mean, we get it, Hira has been nice to him too that's why he fell for him, no need to spend too many airtime for that lol. There was also that bonus video from the "Smash" app wherein Hira was taking care of him when he was sick which was also quite long, but there was a dialogue between them (re: difference between "ja mata na" and "sayonara") which I think would have been better if was included in the main story instead of those other unnecessary moments since it has at least an importance to the plot. My guess is that the producers/director wanted to introduce his actor further to the audience because he might have other projects with them in the future? If I'm not mistaken, director Mai is directing a play/recitation drama(?) wherein Takano Akira is one of the main actors so maybe they have good working relationship or something (Iruma's actor is also there, btw)? XD; Saw about it here: https://twitter.com/pocketnichopin/status/1478223869840617472
Anyway, in short, totally agree with you that Koyama scenes shouldn't have been *that* many and airtime should have been spent on more HiraKiyo scenes since they have too many things to discuss between them instead.
I'm glad that you mentioned that Kiyoi POV flashback scene because I've been always curious about it... it was…
Yeah, it's really interesting how a lot of things are different (albeit subtly) when it comes to watching it from Hira's POV and then seeing Kiyoi's PV. I guess that's why the re-watch value is really high! 😄 But I really remember that scene clearly because it was included in a lot of promotional videos before the show aired and while the show was airing, that's why I was thinking it must be a key moment in the drama and was surprised when it ended up just being a part of a flashback.
