We are halfway through the episodes and honestly I couldnt cite any aspects of him being creepy. The only exemption…
I love him in Laughing Under The Clouds, I think he was perfect as Shirasu (I've seen the anime years before the movie came out and Shirasu was my favorite character), and agree, he really did well there! *_* He can shine as a support character as well and I think that's wonderful, but yes, he deserves more main roles! <3
He is not at all! I find him to be gorgeous & soft and this is my first time watching Renn's work. When he smiles…
I think most people are still not used to romance dramas that don't have all those cutesy feels and don't take 9 episodes for the leads to recognize their feelings for each other haha! XD So when things are faster than usual, some people may think it's already toxic, doesn't make sense, etc. ^^;;; But anyway, to each his/her own, more Renn/Hase for us then hahaha! (Plus, dramas are made to entertain people, and I'm definitely being entertained watching Renn looking handsome and cool lol)

I agree! He seems to be a very kind and playful person, let's just do our best to shower him with positive English comments! XD Definitely hoping for more main roles for him, especially in shows that have good timeslot (I think Renn is more active in midnight dramas currently XD)!
I think a lot of the misconceptions are due to the way the drama is filmed and how the male lead is being presented.…
I do think they're trying to show the mature vibes of the drama with the way they filmed. This is his IG: https://www.instagram.com/renn_kiriyama_official/ ^^ He sometimes posts in English when promoting Love Phantom. <3
This isnt related to the drama but I'm glad as to how the cast members post each other on their instagram like…
I'm so grateful that the cast members post off-shot photos of each other because the official Twitter/IG drama account barely posts anything lol. The official one just keeps on posting still photos and even repeat the same ones sometimes (unlike accounts of other dramas that keep on feeding fans with behind-the-scenes photos/videos). -_-
wdym? I remember Meguru straight up saying "I'm a guy" to the waiter who served him and Wako drinks served specificially…
Thanks for the link!! I've watched other videos about genderless fashion in Japan but haven't watched this one yet, pleasantly surprised to see Yuutarou! <3 I wonder if Renn learned some things from him about "genderless". ^^

Hahaha yeees, let's just enjoy this, just 4 more episodes to go! XD Although I guess I'm being extra protective of Hase because Renn is playing him, and Renn genuinely hopes overseas audience is enjoying the drama (he makes an effort to post in English in IG!!)... so I'm a bit "hurt" on his behalf when I see very negative comments lol.

Definitely agree with you here that it must have something to do with how the drama was filmed and how Hase is presented to the audience. It's not your usual "colorful"/"bright" drama, it really does have a mysterious feeling to it. I hope more people see it this way instead of automatically thinking that Hase is creepy or has some ulterior motives. ^^;;;
Thanks for picking this upppp! I actually forgot to add that one when I released the subs! Though when I watched…
No problem!! By the way, thank you so much for the subs!!!! m(__)m My Twitter got suspended 2 months ago so I can't see updates right away and couldn't send replies as well, but really appreciate your hard work in subbing this wonderful series! We couldn't have enjoyed this to the fullest without you, thank you! <3

Right!! I don't know why the scriptwriter didn't follow manga!Hase's line in that scene. Unfortunately I think after that time a lot of people already considered him as creepy/predatory. XD

Yeees!! Actually if I remember correctly, Hase didn't know at first that Momoko was with the chairman, all he knew was Momoko was with a guest (even Momoko's coworkers were worried if it's fine for her to be left alone with a guest, but Kimura said there should be no problem because she knows it's the chairman), so it was only natural that he'll get worried because what if it's a weird guest and might do something to Momoko?? So yes, I agree nothing in his behavior during that time shows he's "possessive", he's just protective because he knows Momoko can be very trusting at times.

Right?? I do understand if people find him getting Momoko's number and address "creepy", but I think that's the scriptwriter's fault by not having him say that he got it from Kimura (like in the manga), although I believe his intention for getting it is to apologize to Momoko because he acted cold earlier (and Momoko was actually the first one to invite him over lol). So yes, I'm a bit confused that some people still see him as "creepy" and protecting Momo as him being "over-possessive" after six episodes. I guess you're right, if he's the bright/happy type instead of being serious/formal/mysterious most of the time, perhaps other people will not find him "creepy". XD
I'm still confused by some people's comments that Hase is creepy... I'm wondering if we're watching the same show or I'm just too biased because I love Renn? XD (Or is it because of the fact that Hase is much older and Momo is the "innocent" type? )

@RandomUsagi already gave more insights but just to add, Yuutan is gay but he was bullied for being one after being outed by his friend when he was not yet ready, I don't think that necessarily means he's "ashamed" about it. Sasame is actually forced to act "cute" all the time (even though he wants to appear as "manly and cool" since his idol is one) because that's how their agency wants to sell him. This is why Meguru tells Sasame it's okay to express his self the way he wants and still be cute and cool, then proceeds to tweak Sasame's outift and make-up so Sasame will be more comfortable about it.
I think it wasn't included in the subs but one of the funniest moments for me in all the things that Kira misunderstood in episode 8 is when Asahi and the mangaka started talking about 3p/4p/18p because while they're taking about "pages", I believe Kira misunderstood it as threesome/foursome/18-some that's why he was so shocked HAHAHA (https://www.japandict.com/%EF%BC%93%EF%BC%B0)! Kira is supposed to be pure but he still picked up on that lol.
wdym? I remember Meguru straight up saying "I'm a guy" to the waiter who served him and Wako drinks served specificially…
I think they didn't talk about "androgyny" openly in the drama because it's not the main point of the drama, the drama is more on about freedom to express who you are, growth, and self-acceptance. "Androgyny/genderless" here (and in Japan generally) mostly refers to their fashion, so Meguru is a guy who just happens to be comfortable wearing genderless fashion and doesn't feel pressured to conform to gender norms. He never felt the need to hide his love for all things "genderless" and things not normally associated to males since he started being comfortable about who he is after being saved by Wako.
And I desperately need to see some behind the scenes footage - I need to know if they were all cracking up or…
It's just the same, "Meguwako Kono Colorful na Hibi" are the special episodes/spin-off episodes not aired but available for streaming in hulu JP. They're also known as episode 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 (after-story).
