Other than the female lead, everyone else in this are trash, including the male lead. This is not a love story, it is a tragic psychological horror story about a woman surrounded by monsters (the male lead, her parents, her sister, her ex, the wife of her ex, and the male lead's stalker), all who eventually beat her down mentally and break her so in the end she has been brainwashed into thinking she is in love with her tormentor.
Wow. I'm only on episode 3 and my blood is boiling. Bow is surrounded by people that don't listen to or believe…
This is a Thai Drama. They do not do "[redemption arcs]"; they do "[and everyone is forgiven at the end]", even if it is rape or attempted murder, all is forgiven.
I'm only on episode 3 and I'm kinda disappointed with the game elements but I think I like the relationship dynamics…
The issue I am having is that in the Chinese version, the FL was one of the top players on the server, but in the Japanese version she is weak in game and out. FFS they showed her getting saved multiple times by the male lead in game. Ever her ex-husband (in game) is now a better player than she is. It is a strange turn of events when the Chinese version is less sexist than the Japanese version.
In the C Version both FL and ML are very proud people, they are confident & smart. Whereas in the JP version FL…
I have noticed with Japanese drama remakes, that they are always feel "lesser/emptier" than their Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese/Thai counterparts even if they are the original source material. It feels as though Japanese dramas are not overly interested in telling a great story, but exploring concepts, leaving the story & characters often feeling disjointed. This is particularly noticeable in their manga adaptions. (This is about their dramas, Movies are different).
This could have been an interesting spin, where the female lead is shy & insecure outside the game, but in game she is confident, competent & kick-ass, but sadly they did not dive that deeply into her character. As it is, they have made her weak in game as well as outside game.
For the most part, Chinese dramas make Americans (and foreigners) seem terrible. There's blatantly obvious Chinese…
At least Chinese Drama tend to differentiate "Western" vs North American, it is bloody annoying when Korean Dramas constantly use the two terms interchangeably.
I am enjoying this so far. The female lead is a bit frustrating at first because she is bad at her job, but blames others for it, but ultimately I still like her.
The 2ML really becomes unlikeable very very early, so even if you are not quite ready to support the leads getting together, you very quickly start supporting the FL not getting together with the 2ML. The guy is just creepy from the start.
The FL's mother & brother are annoying, and to be honest, more unlikable than the "evil" 2FL. In fact they are nearly as unlikeable as the detestable 2ML.
Below are a list of episodes where the lead's romantic story beats happen ...
No woman is "asking to be raped". Comments and attitudes like this are the reason why sexual harassment and sexual…
I feel people should be aware of their surroundings, BUT at the same time it should NEVER be even a whisper of an excuse for perpetrators of violent crimes. Not being aware of your surroundings, is NOT permission to be assaulted.
When I was a teenager at high school, a boy tried to pull my cousin into the toilets to sexually assault her. She was not "asking" to be sexually assaulted, she was not giving him "signals", she did not "read between the lines" that he wanted to assault her. And I dgaf if she "should" have picked up on her situation or not; she was NOT at fault in any way. He was.
the male lead is the reason I almost dropped this movie multiple times. it is not cute or romantic to see a romance between an adult woman and man who has the intelligence/maturity/EQ/brain of a 12 year old boy still in middle school..
ok...i was so hyped to see Vengo and Zhang as cast main leads with this movie until saw the FL to be DD..... I…
eh, I am not the biggest Dilraba fan, but if you think she was issue here, I vehemently disagree. Leon Zhang was the issue. I think he was playing his character like he was 12 years old, that is how irredeemably obnoxious & childish his character was. This felt like a romance between a cradle robbing noona and a middle school jokester instead of a romance between two adults the same age and ALL that is down to Leon Zhang and his character.
Yup totally agree. I'm still looking for one better this year and nope.
I do not think Moon-Young's manipulation to get Gang-Tae into her house is similar to how Love is Sweet did it at all. Same as Boss & Me. Boss & Me is one of my favourite CDramas, and there the ML tricks the FL into moving into an apartment owned by him also. BUT there is a number of important differences between these situations and what happened in "Love Is Sweet". First and most importantly, neither Moon-Young nor Feng Teng went and bought off the previous landlord to get their romantic interests kicked out. Second neither Gang-Tae nor Shan Shan were extremely antagonistic towards Moon-Young or Feng Teng. Basically in Love Is Sweet, the female lead was illegally kicked out of her apartment without notice BY the male lead, then tricked and manipulated by a man she DETESTED into moving into his apartment. Neither IOTNBO or "Boss & Me" are anywhere comparable imo.
But like you said this is just a disagreement, not a war. Your opinion is just as valid & important as mine, though I do admit the admiration "Love is Sweet" gets on this site frustrates. But frustration is never an excuse to attack anyway.

"Love is Sweet" is not romantic. It is about a manipulative obnoxious stalker who gets the female lead kicked out of her apartment so he can manipulate her into unknowingly move into his apartment. He was one step away from building a hidden basement to keep her in.
It's amazing how Japanese version is so bad considering the source material is from japanase manga. I kinda enjoy…
I feel the Japanese are rather terrible at adapting Manga into live action dramas/movies in general. There is always a sense of them putting concept over story. It feels like they are more interested in exploring the main concept than telling a full story. When the Koreans and the Chinese do it, it feels like they are working from the idea of telling a compelling story first.
I'm only on episode 1 and I'm already bored. Only started to watch this because of Lee Dong but I have a feeling…
This is the third Lee Dong drama I have watched from his pre-Goblin days and I must say it seems like he played a certain type in those days ... unrepentant arsehole. Though I want this role to be closer to his role in "My Girl" (semi-likeable arsehole), it instead feels very much like it is closer to his role in "Wild Romance" where he is a total arsehole all the way into the last episode.

Episode 20 - First Kiss (Stolen)
The 2ML really becomes unlikeable very very early, so even if you are not quite ready to support the leads getting together, you very quickly start supporting the FL not getting together with the 2ML. The guy is just creepy from the start.
