I am watching this for IU. I must say though that I think "Jo Jung Suk" plays an arsehole a bit too well to be a lead. Once you him playing such, you can never un-see it so it can be frustrating seeing him get closer to the FL. Much like in "Jealousy Incarnate", he is an irredeemable arsehole throughout the entire first episode with no redeeming features. Later they try to soften and redeem him but it is already too late. He has been imprinted as someone too detestable to be redeemed.
Honorable Mention to; The Love Equations (2020) [China] - https://kisskh.at/36445-the-sweet-love-story It is not quite an introverted couple, but it is about an introverted ML who decides to actively (yet covertly) chase after the FL.
What an amazing drama! As an introvert myself, i could relate with the FL and all her action/decisions. Both the…
I loved the female lead. BUT I found the ML a bit troublesome. He had a very paternalistic "I know best" attitude towards the women around him, so he will do or say things for their "own good" (episode 3 towards the FL; episode 4 towards the 2FL). I have yet to see him display that same arrogant paternalistic crap towards anyone that was not a young woman.
I am in the midst of watching at the moment. I like it for the most part, though there is a trope in episode 3 that is nearly as detestable as noble idiocy. Thankfully the FL confronted the ML over it (though he got off too mildly imo).
I am hitting a wall in episode 4 though. I am not liking Hyun Hoo at all. They "show" that the ML & 2FL have a friendship that goes way back. Meanwhile hey "tell" us Hyun Hoo also has a great friendship YET we never really see that friendship (past or present). All we see from Hyun Hoo is insecure passive aggressiveness. We never see the 2FL actually "in love" with Hyun Hoo, BUT we see plenty of the ML trying to force the 2FL to marry Hyun Hoo. Why does the 2FL HAVE TO marry Hyun Hoo? Again like in episode 3, it is the ML trying to make decisions for the females around him for "their own good" I guess.
Korea has different age ratings than the West. They are more conservative so I guess that’s why..
Please tell me how "the west" has different age ratings? Are you one of those who uses "the west" as an euphemism for America? Because there is no fucking blanket age-rating for "the West". America has a different ratings system to the UK, which has a different rating system to Australia which has a different ratings system to France.
No, it's not a sequel. It's a standalone show with a similar theme. The summary is long but to shorten…
No worries. I was being a bit facetious as I had just watched the original and it frustrated me immensely with how the 2ML seemed to be able to wander the palace at will, especially how he kept hanging around the crown princess's bedroom.
No, it's not a sequel. It's a standalone show with a similar theme. The summary is long but to shorten…
Is the 2FL going to be hanging around the ML's bedroom ALL the damn time like what happened in the first one? Is the ML going to be a moron like the FL in the first one?
People claim this is low key and grounded and avoids clichés: nothing could be further from the truth. It's an…
Eh, the little girl is not believable at all, and is one of those "precocious but obnoxious" children found everywhere in dramaland (from the USA to Korea). Those types of kids are never realistic. And I find them rarely likeable. They give off the same effect as the Uncanny Valley in animation.
The guy is a selfish narcissistic tool so him caring about anyone other than himself is an unbelievable premise. Even when he found out his gf had cancer, it was all about him & his wants. She did not matter.
The worst character in this is not the 2FL, it is not the reporter; it is the so-called friend who allows AND expects the FL to constantly sacrifice her self and her future for the friend whilst at the same time she avoids contact with FL unless she wants something.
Gong Yoo is someone who very much looks his age, which is why a lot of his early work is bewildering to me since he was always playing characters who are a lot younger than his real age, whilst his appearance does not fit. This drama is an example of this tendency. Gong Yoo is older than Gong Hyojin, but here he is playing someone who is at least 6 years younger than her. BUT since he looks his real age this is quite offputting (same thing happened in Coffee Prince). This is why I much prefer his more recent work over his earlier stuff.
So this drama has a very low rating, but I don't know if it is accurate to the actual show. It sounds like many…
I watched the first episode on Netflix, and have put it on hold. Not because I do not intend to watch it, but because I will wait until it is complete before continuing.
Now the first episode was not outstanding, but "Ivy Shao" is an actress I really like, so I will watch almost anything she is in.
I know it was jae hyuns acting debut and I know everyone was disappointed that the drama was delayed but what…
1) A woman is accused of bullying, is then bullied by a mob/netizens accusing her of bullying
2) It turns out the original accusers were the original bullies, who are now trying to bully her again by trying to ruin her career with the help of the mob/netizens/bullies
I'm here for Soo Ae and Choi Shi Won!Is Choi Shi Won the lead in this drama?if not, why the hell did they make…
I am also here for Soo-Ae & Choi Seung Won, two of my favourite actors. I will watch anything Soo-Ae is in. Though both of them seem to have magic teleporting powers in this drama.
I thought Ahn Jae hyun is the main lead because he was arrogant and cool but the thing about this drama is that…
I agree. Once I realised he was not the lead I lost interest in the drama.
The bemusing thing is; that for a rebel, the lead is incredibly dull & bland. That for a guy who grew up poor, the lead is more classist, judgemental & obnoxious than the 2ml who grew up rich.
Here we go again, the Second Lead Syndrome is knocking.
It is not just knocking, it is hammering on the door whilst shouting into a megaphone.
For a "rebel", the male lead was all kinds of dull & bland with a dash of emo. There was nothing interesting about the character; in fact he is not even interesting enough to be likeable or unlikeable. When he is the centre of a scene it feels like watching pain dry. Though I found it interesting that the guy who grew up poor is more classist, judgemental, obnoxious & rude than the guy who grew up rich.
The 2ML on the other hand was a lot more dynamic, interesting and likeable. I actually thought the 2ML WAS the ML for the early episodes. Sadly when you realise who is the real ML and who they are pushing as the endgame pairing I lost all interest in this drama.

The irony at work here is astounding.
