But that for me is the issue here. She basically becomes his slave/pet during the transformation, whilst he just gets distracted by balls. This makes it so that the transformations are very unbalanced in his favour. It feels very much like it has a very heavy sexist underlying structure to the concept when it did not need it.
I keep trying this since everyone keeps saying it is good, but the first three episodes are a huge barrier to entry for me. CDramas can often have a very sexist and unbalanced dynamic between the romantic leads but usually the FL has some sort of agency in her interaction with the male lead (ie "Boss & Me"). Here, she pretty much doesn't and it is frustrating.
Romance of the leads slow but nicely shows how they fall for each other. Much more realistic than falling for…

I am not sure if it is the actor or purely the character, but I am not really liking the male lead. Both Park Shin Hye's performance & her character "Seo-Hae" are vastly more interesting/appealing than Jo Seung Woo's and his character "Han Tae Sul". I am watching this purely for the female lead which is a bit unsatisfying since she is more a supporting character than a lead so far. 4 episodes in and this has been 70 % about the male lead, 20% about the female lead and 10 % other characters.
Why does it say that there are 32 episodes? I only watched 16 episodes! Can someone explain it to me please :)
Korea does not allow ad breaks inside shows, only between them. So sometimes they break 16 1 hour episodes into 32 30 min episodes so they can show more ads.
I was interested in this drama and the synopsis i first read was completely different where the second female…
In actuality, the foster brother was originally the leading man, with CEO Terry as the 2ML. Half way through the writers/directors realised Terry made a better romantic lead, and changed it. This is why the foster brother is shoved down our throats so much.
OMFG. I am so, so frustrated by the story right now. More specifically, what the FL is doing. I'm on episode 27…
um, in what way should she trust the male lead. He was a nasty arsehole who got a kick out of bullying her. It always bewilders me on kisskh how it is always the FL's fault because she does not trust implicitly the person who was nasty and untrustworthy in their actions towards her.
Huh? Did we watch the same show? They get together in episode 13. Since the show is 27 episodes long, in no realm…
Fair enough. I was amused and bemused by your original comment, but re-reading my response it seems it comes across a bit harsher than intended. Be Well
But blackface itself is taboo because of a certain aspect that was unique to AMERICAN culture. But Muricans love to export their racism. Now saying that, the scene with blackface in this drama WAS racist, not because of the blackface, but because of what they were using it to say.
the standard chinese drama dragging- but i must admit the side couples are interesting.
eh? I found the side couples to be the worst part of this. None of the men in the side couples were likeable. Stalker guy especially made you want to ff whenever he was on screen. This drama is only watchable for the main couple.
