Calm down. This is not something you get so angry about it lol.
Tell me why shouldn't I be upset - I am not angry, I'm upset- about people lying?
Everyone has a right to like/dislike something and to comment on it, particularly on this site. But don't you think we should /at least/ show some respect to everyone involved in this drama who spent amounts of money, time, and effort bringing DAYS to life? Spreading lies like these are bluntly disrespectful. Also, there’s the fact people come here to know more about a drama before deciding if it’s worth watching or not. So tell me what do you think happens when they see these kind comments, which are a lie. It’s true that the drama isn’t doing well on tv/cable ratings, but it's a lie that DAYS is not making success in korea when TVing (online streaming) ratings are high. I have every right to be upset about this.
Hello. No, I am not Korean, but here are the links (below) proving what I said cuz I’m not here just speaking bananas. About the part where said people mustn't have been watching the drama on tv is because most people that watch tv/cable are older adults. DAYS airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at a timeslot when these adults are: 1- still at work or getting home from work; 2- making dinner or having dinner. This doesn’t mean those who do watch are liking it. I have seen Koreans on other platforms such as Twitter saying they aren’t liking it. And that's fine. But the ratings on tv weren’t as good as the ones on TVing (online) to begin with so I think the reasons I pointed out at the beginning weigh more as to why the ratings are so low.
One think that still makes me ??????? Is how some of you continue to say this drama is not making success in korea. Did you know that TVN has a platform like Netflix , called TVing, and this drama is number 1 there?? People are watching it online. Its only dropping rates because the "people from the couch" aka the ones that watch on tv when the episode airs are not /because/ we are living in modern days where no one has fckg time for anything and watching online when you have the time is easier. Also its the n1 most searched drama on Naver. Please inform yourselves before continuing with this narrative. It's okay to not like the drama but don't spread lies lol
what ifffffff... Cha Joo Ik is in love with Lee Hyun Gyu ? Wouldn't that be a twist for a love triangle ? : )))(are…
honestly i have no clue if they are brothers or not. I mean, there was a scene (dont remember if it was on eo 9 or 10) where joo ik's father appears at lee hyun's café and it lee hyun calls him dad. but i think that was because he was helping joo ik, making all the others thing "the owner of the building" is the coffee shop owner's dad instead of the team leader. also there's the fact that joo ik was lee hyun's tutor nine years prior. but i may be wrong. maybe they are really brothers and i didn't catch it.
however, as a member of the alphabet mafia, i would find really eye catching if the one joo ik likes is actually lee hyun and not na ji na. it would be really interesting, but i still wouldn't really ship it cuz i think all 3 of them have a toxic relationship with each other.
some people here think the drama is filled with "pretentious" messages and empty meanings so I don't think they…
It's okay to lose interest. It's in human nature for not everyone to like the same things. But I have to agree with you on that, people's confusion towards this drama is turning into baseless criticism and then into hatred (these are just some, not all do that). I dont get why they dont move on from this drama once and for all.
I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
haha its okay! yeah we have discussed a bit about it. I agree with you. Also because the deity gave that marble thing to DTK and I think that as the deity giving dtk a wish. She has two wishes, one to save herself from the cancer and the other one to save doom.
About the butterfly, thats what I am completly lost lmao. No clue which of the two is it.
maybe yall should care more about the message and meanings this drama is conveying instead of how the plot should…
some people here think the drama is filled with "pretentious" messages and empty meanings so I don't think they would even ever understand what the plot is.
I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
It's okat, please don't apologize! I don't mind reading that much hahaha
I agree with you, about Ji Na needing closure from both of the guys first before moving on to someone knew.
OMG!! THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!! HAMAJHAJKA It would make sense for him to be Vishnu! aaaahhh imagine if this actually becomes true.. I won't be able to handle it lmao though some part me things this won't happen
I thought the same thing. Falling in love, most of the times, doesn't happen in a specific moment. I think the screenwriter is wrtiting everything very realisticly,,, but i guess that's not everyone's cup of tea.
As to what I think it will actually happen, remember the theory I sent you? Remember the part about that marble DTK receives from the deity? I think it's DTK who's going to save both of them. I mean, I still think Doom will sacrifice himself, but DTK will save him back. She will use her wish to live, and then the marble's wish to save Doom.
Hehehe <3 It really does and of course, we can talk in the private chat. It can also be easier because in here it gets hard to find my previous comment when there's so many new other comments
You got it right. Finally someone said about giving constructive criticism.
Thank you! I thought I needed to say it cuz i saw a shift in the way people started to comment. Even tho I don't agree with some (it's impossible for everyone to like the same stuff), I was pleased to see that people started to explain and give examples by referring certain scenes/moments from the episodes. This way someone that hasn't watched DAYS but is thinking of doing it can get a better grasp of the drama from people who have watched. Also, since yesterday, the positive feedbacks increased. Which makes me so happy cuz I had this nagging feeling some were refraining themselves from commenting about their enjoyment for DAYS since the comment section was heavily filled with negativity. Happy to see that seems to be changing.
No hate but the whole second couple side thing is so stupid. The fact that Ji-na STILL doesn't know that she's…
I felt the same way. While the other two are "fighting" each other because of her, she has no clue what's going on. That's why I was glad joo ik was honest, although rudely, and told hwe why he did those things in the past. Now she can start to grasp at least a bit of what's really happening.
I just wanted to say that I am truly happy to see that since the 9th and 10th episodes dropped, more and more people are writing their comments in a more constructive way. Don’t get me wrong, everyone has the right to leave their opinions in whatever way they choose, but when I arrived here on Sunday I could count with fingers of one hand the number of comments explaining in detail - or just really giving examples - as to why they did/didn’t like/found flaws in this drama. Although I’m not saying it’s not okay to leave comments like that, at the same time I thought this comment section needed more diversity in case someone who’s looking for opinions regarding DAYS could see more than just “This drama is boring. This drama is badly written. This is filled with plot holes. I like this drama.” Again, let me emphasize those types of comments are okay! But coming here and /only/ seeing those types of comments is disheartening. Since the day before yesterday, I have seen more people leaving comments explaining and giving more details about what they think of this drama - be it negatively or positively. It makes me so happy!
I’m not trying to dictate how one should or shouldn’t comment, I just wanted to leave my appreciation for all of you that are taking your time to write reviews/analysis/opinions constructively. Thank you, and if possible, let’s keep going! <3
I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
Thank you so much for saying that! This is the first time I'm using this website/app and being so actively involved in a kdrama with other people online. I am having lots of fun doing so! Also, after my ever 1st comment here I decided that this comment section needed and deserved a more diversity. When I arrived here I could count with the fingers of one hand the positive and constructive critic comments. So for now own I will try to leave more comments like these in case anyone wants to read it. I like seeing your comments as well! We seem to agree in a lot of stuff regarding this drama hahah. This episode was really seomthing else. It left me cravinf for more! I'm really impatient when it comes to this drama because I just /need/ to know what happens next. Once again, thank you and I'm looking foward to more exchange of opinions hehe :p
I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
Wow, that is some extensive comment hahaha. I’m grateful you took your time to read what I wrote and to answer me with so much detail. It makes me truly happy knowing I’m not talking to the flies lmao
I have to agree with you that joo ik isn’t better than lee hyun. They aren’t bad guys, but they both have flaws. Both of them are not really thinking about ji na’s feelings and what she wants, Heck, one thing that baffles me in all of this twisted “relationship” is how ji na doesn’t even know they are disputing her. She feels like an object, like a pawn to them and it madly irks me. I really do hope she doesn’t stay with any of them because she deserves waaay better.
Omg I’m so happy you actually liked my theory. I felt like I wasn’t making any sense. Yes! One of the reasons I thought about this theory is exactly because many people seem to want joo ik to be supernatural - honestly, in the beginning, I thought he actually was, but so far nothing has happened to prove it. The other reason was joo ik’s line to ji na “Do you have proof I am human?”. In the same way, nothing has happened to indicate that joo ik is supernatural, at the same time we can’t really argue that he is human. I mean, he works, eats, acts like a human, has emotions like a human but that doesn’t really mean he /is/ human, you know? Another thing is that his line felt like a presage? Or maybe I want it to be a presage? I have seen that theory as well, about doom becoming because he committed suicide. Although I have to agree with you that I don’t see joo ik doing something like that, it still is a possibility with this drama.
Same, same, same!! I was living for the main character’s interactions during the 10th episode. It’s not easy for me to ship and be so invested in a heterosexual couple, but these two? Holy f- I am in love with them!!! I really can’t understand how some say the actors have no chemistry. I mean it’s okay to think that, it’s your opinion. I just don’t understand it, especially after this episode. Omg ahhaha sameeee! In the scene "You would be in trouble if I was serious" I was like Doom??!?!??!ndjblhsjajakak My dude really isn’t scared of anything huh? It was hilarious! About TDK, I didn’t really think in that way so I’m happy to see your perspective. It opened my eyes to her reasonings and see the end of the episode was actually a lot more meaningful than it seemed. I completely forgot about the fact, until that point, she hadn’t let herself cry and really bask in her feelings. That was the 1st time after her parent’s death. Wow, I guess she really has come a long way and finally she is letting herself feel what she wants to feel more freely. I understand you because I do that as well. Lately, I have been better at voicing my feelings, concerns, and other things, but I still have a lot of difficulty opening up. I’m the type of person that bottles everything up until I burst. So I relate to DTK as well. I think that if I was in her shoes I would have acted just like her as well. But I am really happy she has Doom by her side, who shows her it’s okay to just be herself. I found your theory about doom saving her metaphorically really interesting. And it makes sense. DTK even told him he already is making her live. Before meeting Doom, she wasn’t really living, she was just existing. She didn’t like anything about her life, she was tired of all the things happening around her but after doom appeared in her life, she started to have fun and to enjoy the small things in life. So in a way, he /is/ already saving her. Just like Gus showed Hazel Grace that life is meaningful, fun, and beautiful even when it’s cut short showing her that it’s possible to have a forever that is just theirs within numbered days, Doom is showing DTK the exact same thing. I think both dtk and doom have already realized that in a way.
Exactly! This story would work so freaking well as a book because then the writer would have the space to write things in more detail, explaining every little thing. I would definitely buy that book. But I am loving this drama as well! I think it’s a true masterpiece.
Ooooohh!!! Thank you so much for explaining that to me. Now the deity’s actions are making more sense to me. She’s like her parent to Doom and so she just wants to see her son be the best version of himself possible, thus she provokes him a lot into action. This drama really is something else, huh?
No, thank /you/! I love having these discussions with you. It makes watching DAYS all the more fun. Let’s continue watching, and see what the writer will bring to us in the future.
I see a lot of negative comments about this show, but I truly like the way it is constructed. For example, the…
Thank you so much for your comment! You're absolutely right, this comment section really needs more diverse positions! Also about your point about the plot being about feelings, that's exactly that! And don't apologize for your English, your point of view still came across! <3
Okay, the next comment is going to be my review and a bit of analysis (?) of the 10th episode.
I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him incredibly selfish. The only reason he asked the writer to date him, no matter who she likes, is because he suspects the team leader is having a thing for her. Even though joo ik does in fact like her (he hasn’t explicitly said he does but his actions speak more than words), they don’t have anything going on besides a working relationship. Yes, they kissed in the past, but besides that what has happened between them, romantically wise? Nothing. And even if there was something going on between them, it’s selfish for lee hyun to meddle. I mean, the guy was a coward back then - his justifications for breaking up with him are childish and now he doesn’t let her move on? The way he doesn’t even care about her feelings at all outrages me. I still think the best ending for this love triangle is for her to tell both guys to fuck off and go on with her life. But, and this is a big but, if she really ends up with one of them I am more inclined to joo ik.
Another thing about the love triangle is my theory of how the writer may intertwine their story with the main leads. In my opinion, the love triangle leads are just as ill-fated as doom and TDK. We know that Doom is dying, but if he dies then someone has to fill his place right? Because Doom is just as essential to humanity as the deity. What if something happens, and one of the leads in the love triangle is going to become a “doom”? I don’t know if this even makes sense but it’s still something to think about.
Now passing to our main leads. Once again, I am thrilled with how much chemistry the main actors have. They are so adorable I couldn’t help but coo at them during the majority of this episode. It’s funny to watch doom being so straightforward while DTK becomes more shy and blushy. When doom acted jealously… gosh, that was so funny. Also!! The famous ramen line! Only my friend, with who I watch this drama, knows how hard I laughed at that moment.
Lately, I have been paying more and more attention to the dialogues because a lot is said in riddles. A line from Doom on today’s episode that got me thinking was “I think that’s when it started.” This line was right after DTK asking him if he still felt lonely and Doom answering that he hasn’t felt lonely because he has her beside him now. There are so many things to talk about his line. Did he mean “it” as when he started to like her, when he started to feel less lonely or when he started to die? Or all of it? I absolutely love these cryptic dialogues and how it has me pushing for all the neurons to understand what they mean. It’s refreshing to me that a kdrama is making me theorize so much.
A recurring thing in this episode is the miscommunication between Doom and DTK. DTK is going through a whole dilemma because of the whole “someone she loves is going to die” thing, and she thinks that the only way for there to be a happy ending is if she doesn’t love anyone. So she runs away and breaks up with doom. Because that’s the only way to save him. What she doesn’t know is that Doom is going to die no matter what. He gave her a lot of hints but he didn’t tell her straight on, so she doesn’t know that it’s okay for her to love him all she wants. This just brings a lot of misunderstandings and lots of confused feelings for the characters. My heart broke for them when they were celebrating Doom’s birthday and his birthday wish was for DTK to live. “You’re already making me live.” - that is what she answers in return. Both of them are finally seeing the joys of life and having fun, but they are dying soon. Both of their destinies are being cut short. And despite their ill-fated destiny, their story is still beautiful. This reminded me of two quotes. The first one is from Doom himself: “Most things that end are beautiful.”; and the other is from the book The Fault In Our Stars when Hazel Grace tells Gus there are some infinities bigger than others, that she is grateful he gave her “a forever within numbered days”. That is how I see the main character’s story - a bittersweet, ill-fated, but incredibly beautiful relationship that has its days counted in a small infinite.
I think it’s pretty obvious to see that I am in love with this drama and with the story. I think the screenwriter is an absolute genius although I still think this kind of story would make a lot more success as a book. This, and all the things I said above are all just my opinion. It’s okay if you don’t agree.
To sum up, the next episode preview… omg??? The deity saying “Just erase each other from your destinies.” I am so confused????? (I always am when it comes to the deity lmao). During the 10th episode, she told DTK to love Doom and live her life, but in the next episode, she’s going to tell Doom to erase each other from their lives???? Honey make up your mind, pleaseeeee. LMAO With that said, I really can’t wait for next week to come. I need to know what happens next ASAP! If you read this until here, thank you and I’m sorry. I know I am rambling a lot, but I am still grateful you read all of it. Happy watching and have a nice day/night!
