I loved when do jae jin stood up for himself. We know he always got played by his ex-girlfriends and he suffered a lot with his most recent ex-girlfriend. So seeing him rejecting her shameless advances was really nice. I was already starting to ship him with hye sun, but after today's episode I'm shipping them so hard. I think they are really cute with each other. Not only that, but it seems like they are a good influence on each other. As for the main leads, I feel bad that I laughed when gumiho realized his feelings. Like, my dude erased her memory (or so he thinks) and then has the audacity to turn into one of her professors just to be closer to her... It was mean of him, even if it was subconsciously. So yeah, I laughed when he realized his feelings. I thought Lee Dam's actions towards him were well deserved. But I guess he's going to redeem himself - at least that's what I got from the preview.
This drama is not /that/ bad, but it disappoints me that the fantasy part is not really explored and the little we know is not even explained well. The romance is there, the comedy is getting better and less cringe as we progress, but the fantasy part is really lacking. It's a shame because the story of the gumiho is quite interesting.
The preview tho. TDK is going to die??? Then how will she be together with Doom?? I'm so confused. This drama just keeps swiping the rug under my feet with each episode. I love that I can't guess how they will end this. I mean, I theorize a lot about it, but I'm never sure if I'm right. I finally found a drama that doesn't bore me in that aspect. Also, Doom crying destroyed my heart completely. I was so close to crying and I have a feeling that I will on the next episode. Can't believe I have to wait a whole week for the next episode :') please Monday come faster!
I was very very confused at the beginning of the 12th episode cuz I wasn't understanding anything. First I thought we were going back in time to the first episode, then I thought it was just a repeat of the scenes and then only after like 20 minutes in I understood we were in the same timeline but the leads memories of each other, indeed, had been wiped off. Not gonna lie, I was quite frustrated with the screenwriter because I wasn't understanding why there was a need to use the memory loss troupe, but now I understand. It was necessary because 1- the deity needed to realize that MM needs TDK in his life so he can "evolve" - the flower only started to bloom again after their scene at the beach. It was only because of his love for TDK that he started to view the world and humans more positively despite pitying them. And 2- to shows us (and also the deity) that no matter what happens, those two will always find each other because their destinies are intertwined. Basically this episode made things come to a full circle. About the love triangle, I liked how realistic Ji Na's and Lee Hyun's date was. They didn't have any kind of interaction with one another for 9 years so it's normal, after many years of radio silence, that they don't know how to act. I'm glad that the preview showed us that Joo Ik and Lee Hyun are finally going to talk. It was about time. My hope for Ji Na to stay single still remains, but if the writer really wants her to end up with one of them, then I hope it's Joo-Ik. Despite of meddling with Ji Na's feelings in the past, at least he's not as immature as Lee Hyun, and he kinda owned up to his mistake. I don't like him either, I'm in no way defending him, but I still think he's better than the other one.
This has crossed my mind. Yes he will become the deity. Remember the Pinocchio book when he said he no longer…
I think my theory does make sense but I'm not too sure about it anymore. I think he will become a human instead of a deity. Because if he ends up as a deity then how will he be together with TDK. Will she turn into a supernatural being as well? I don't think so.
About the memory lost, I am quite frustrated about it. I don't thing there was a need for the deity to do that, but at the same time, I think she must have a valid reason for it. I just don't see it yet. Quite honestly, I have lost hope TDK will live. I think the drama will end with both her and doom dying, and then they will probably show an epilogue of them finding each other in another life, both as humans.
JOJO! I literally gasped at your theory! But let me address the other parts of your comment real quick haha. Okay,…
Yes! She finally started to open to him, and be more honest about her feelings. I was really happy about that. I had the same reaction when he said that! Their moments were all very cute but I couldn't help feeling sad, cuz I felt the doom was creeping up on them.
About the preview, I feel the same. I kinda understand some of the more negative comments on here about their frustration with the "reset" and the lost memory. I didn't undrstand the writers need to do that. I haven't watched the 12th episode, but I am also hoping there's a valid reason for all of this.
Right? I would be a very cool plot twist, but at the same time, I don't think it's going to happen. My head is a bit fuzzy with all the theories, but I think the original theory that he will turn into a human is the right one. At least, I think it's the one that makes the most sense.
I held back tears throughout the whole 11th episode. In this episode, we are presented with many tooth-rotting…
I forgot to mention something. TDK's aunt. I understand the pain she is going through. I really do. I understand why she is nagging TDK so much to get treatment, but at the same time I hope she understands soon how selfish she is being. She's selfish but its out of love, I understand that. Yet, she is only hurting TDK even more by forcing her to get treatment. TDK is going to die anyway. The surgery has a very low possibility of working. She could even die in the operation table. Or it could worsen her pain. So, if TDK decides she doesn't want to proceed with treatment than that's her choice. I was a bit annoyed by that cuz it was palpable how guilty TDK felt, after hearing her aunt's words. That's not fair to her. Okay yeah you are hurting cuz you don't want to lose someone you love, but the one who's dying is TDK so, ultimately, the decision is hers and no else.
I held back tears throughout the whole 11th episode. In this episode, we are presented with many tooth-rotting scenes between the main leads. At first, it seems like those scenes are just fluff, cute, and simple, like nothing much is happening. But if you really pay attention, a lot is going on behind those cute moments. I was hung up on every word said between DTK and Doom, the way he looked at her as if she is the only thing that matters, how they both took care of each other, even their cute bickering… Behind all of those scenes is the inevitable doom. They have an ill-fated relationship so, despite them being all cute and confessing their love, my eyes got foggy. Their love is not enough when everything around them is falling apart. And that’s why we got that big ass heartwrenching cliffhanger at the end.
Speaking of the cliffhanger, I’m so pissed. According to the preview of tomorrow’s episode, the deity wiped all of TDK’s memories of Doom from her memory. Why??? You know that Cardi B meme where she goes “What was the reason?? What was the reason??”... Yeah, so deity, my girl, what was the reason? If things keep going like this, the main leads will only be actually together in the last episode. Stresses me out… lmao
I also wanted to leave here a theory that I thought of while watching the episode. During the conversation between Doom and the deity at the hospital, she told him “We (deities) live for humans and we die for humans. That’s our duty.” Not long after that scene, Doom saves a child from being run over by a motorbike. He tells TDK he couldn’t let it happen because she was watching. Then he proceeds to tell her “I can’t help but portray you in everything. Because of you, I started to pity humans and to love humans. I finally understand why she (the deity) loves humans so much.” which got me thinking, aren’t those the exact traits of the deity? The deity loves humans, but she also pities them. Now Doom feels the same. My theory is, what if Doom is dying because he’s going to be reborn as a deity? From the information that we have so far, only deities die and are reborn, not dooms. MM himself doesn’t know when he started to die, but we know he suspects it was when he fell in love with TDK, who by the way, is a human. Now, we know he doesn’t love only her but all humans, finally understanding what the deity meant all this time. Maybe that’s exactly why he is dying. He has finally “evolved”. The flower is starting to bloom. The butterfly is leaving its cocoon. The Doom is becoming a Deity.
I am excited about tomorrow’s episode but also dreading it. When are the main leads going to be okay? Sigh…
I feel the same...A senior who came out of nowhere. He could possibly be the villain. I think Choi Soo Kyung might…
I think so too. I think its going to be like "main lead's best friend falls in love with the villain, who by the way, looks way too innocent to be a villain" trope
we do not care, who was offended ? Black people, so why you're looking for Koreans opinions ? you want so bad…
You didn't deny it, but you dismissed people's feelings completely with that comment (and others you posted after). Also, just because the demographic is small does that mean we should completely disregard them? Should we completely forget they exist? Of course I am "going hard" for them. Their voices should be heard and not silenced- like many are trying to. Them, more than anyone, should have someone like me "going hard" for them when they are such a small community easy to be silenced by the majority.
currently watching episode 5 and i have a question. who is jeong suk eun? he kinda appeared out of nowhere and…
Talking about crime. Hye sun is the only one who seems to be aware something isn't right. That those crimes are more than they appear to be.. I was kinda annoyed by how the gumiho disregarded her when she called him. They made her seem a bit "dumb" in the first episodes, but my girl isn't dumb at all. Seems smarter than the gumiho.
currently watching episode 5 and i have a question. who is jeong suk eun? he kinda appeared out of nowhere and im not understanding why.... i ask myself if this is going to be the villain. he hasn't done anything evil, quite the contrary, but idk.. its suspicious... especially when they showed another crime in this episode..
Omg dude so many Caucasians are in my replies and it’s like if your racist just say that and go.
You feel insulted we called you a racist... maybe you should set that one down with yourself and really think why you're so offended by it. And we're living in 2021. There's no lack of information. The internet is free. So yes you as well as others leaving comments like this are being ignorant and uneducated. If you weren't racist, ignorant and uneducated you would have known racism and CA is not something to have a "different opinion" about.
we do not care, who was offended ? Black people, so why you're looking for Koreans opinions ? you want so bad…
Yes you did???? You specifically said "Here come all the social justice warriors and privileged international fans thinking their opinions matter, crying culture appropriation!! This show is made for Koreans, not y'all international fans, sit back and enjoy watching it (as I am) and don't complain."
You completely dismissed black people rightfully complaining about Alex's character. If you agree that is racist and CA, why can't people complain about when they were once again victims of racism. They saw their race and culture being mocked once again. And its not only international fans. You know there are black immigrants and black koreans living in Korea, who very likely watch this show. Try putting yourself in their shoes and imagine how hurt they must feel. People have their own right to continue to watch the show and to like it. But at the same time, people have the right to complain about the CA and to want it canceled, or at least for them to delete all the Alex parts completely.
we do not care, who was offended ? Black people, so why you're looking for Koreans opinions ? you want so bad…
THERE IS BLACK IMMIGRANTS AND BLACK KOREANS IN KOREA WHICH WERE ALSO THE TARGET OF THIS SHOW! You have some nerve staying quiet when people tried to explain to you what was wrong with your past comment, and how Alex's character is offensive towards African-Americans. You didn't even care and completely dismissed people's feelings, even going as far as insulting them. And now because the racist comments started to increase you finally have the guts to start spreading nonsense again? Wow, just wow.
