LOL, I love this review, which fits my sentiments to a T.

The real love story here was that of Niao Niao and her mother, and here they went breezily ruining it in favour of a travesty of romance . I spent 56 episodes hoping mother and daughter would finally have a real conversation that never was - granted, after all she should have learned both inside the palace and elsewhere but didn't, I came to the conclusion Niao Niao only understood slap language.

LOL! I personally really liked this drama, but your review is hilarious and I can totally see why you came to…
Thank you for not stoning me. 😉

I didn't even last 20 minutes into the 1st episode. The humour is vulgar and the characters cartoonish.
Reading your review was way more pleasant.

I love your list LOL! I'm not a fan of either of these actors too, though I don't know if calling them actors…
Lol. What shall we call them?
(Tr)actors?
(Malef)actors?
(Unsatisf)actors?
😉

I'm still laughing after reading your review, the best review so far that I've ever seen, Super funny I enjoyed…
Thanks a lot for the good wishes. :D
Indeed, we are watching another fantasy drama together, this time a Chinese one (Love between Fairy & Devil for the record - 2° time for me, first for him).
Commentaries are still on, at times when I think the scene is a solemn one and husband comes up with a joke of some sort.
I will NEVER watch those solemn scenes again without bursting into uncontrollable laughter. :P

"You're the first person in history to threaten me.""You're also the first person in history to make me cry like…
"I can't believe I've just crawled into a dog hole hand in hand with Changheng!"
Another classic, lol.

And how about the way he bites into that crunchy morsel after telling her about DFQC's eating preferences?
😂

Ya know if Chinese historical dramas were around 16 eps like most east asian dramas, I would watch every single…
Well, all things considered, episodes are barely 35 minutes long - taking out intro and outro - so in the end is just like watching 18 episodes of a K-drama.
Give them a chance!!!!! :D

Title The Law Cafe
It not actually 80mins long, all the episodes are around 1hr5mins plus 1 or 2 more mins. Also aside from romcom…
So, why was a comment section even invented when someone can't come here and say they dislike the show?
Isn't a negative opinion an opinion too?
Or are you implying this section is restricted to lovers of the show who gather here to rave about it?

By the way, I barely knew of the existence of this drama: I'm simply passing by because I like Lee Seung Gi and wanted to know what people think about this show. Nonetheless, I claim my right to be here and even dare to express a general opinion.

Review Ashes of Love
thanks, haha - something to lighten things up. it was a decent enough watch and there were serious and sad parts…
Don't worry, I just finished a xanxia myself - a much shorter and very enjoyable one, so my effort was a lot less heroic than yours ;) . Even so, I need a break from brainless immortals and flying demons.
Should I ever decide to watch another in the future I doubt I'll remember which is what: they all have the same posters, lol!

Review Ashes of Love
I have no idea about the drama - my radar never went near it before tonight, out of simple curiosity - but the review sure is hilarious!
Not sure I can take this thing seriously after reading you. ^o^

I completed this drama today, so reading this was a double pleasure: first, because it's extremely well written and informative, second, because I'm fresh with the experience and miss these characters already.
If I hadn't watched it, this article would have surely prompted me to do so at once.
Thank you!

Lmao. Great article!
How come I hadn't come across this when it was first published? Possibly, the word Virus resonate more now than it did 9 years ago, or I was bedridden with influenza...

An extremely well written, informative and thought-through article: thank you!

Apart from having all sorts of genres and acting styles to fit them, there's another + point to give to Japanese doramas: if they advertise a product as, say, a romantic comedy, you're going to get a romantic comedy. It's not going to suddenly turn into a melodrama with an ocean of tears left and right. Not that I have anything against melodrama, but I like to get the food I ordered. ;)

I agree. It's unfortunate that so few J-dramas are available to (legally) stream. I think J-dramas would be much…
Totally agree.
And yet, I can't help but feeling that the moment they start selling themeselves to the international public they may lose their unicity. It always happens when, in order to be better commercialized, a product ends up adjusting to the public taste. That's what's happening to Kdramas, which are slowly "westernizing" and, in so doing, losing some of their original charm.

I'm obviously all in favour of finding more and more J-dramas to watch, but a part of me is happy they are keeping their unique flavour by remaining "niche" products.
