You have done a fantastic job, Cho Na. It's lovely to be reminded of past articles and have a chance to re-read them. Yours is an awesome tribute to MDL users, some of them aren't even that active here anymore, alas. I read your comments and opinions with great interest, since the reason to attend a site like this should be to share and be confronted with the opinion of others, even those we don't agree with. Thanks you!
I like your passionate comments and understand the feeling. However as you put it -- "The heroine is possibly…
I actually think I've been generous. My main complain is for the drama itself. The acting is on point, hence the 9 - but for me to like it, a drama must have characters I can feel some empathy for - better if I fall for them - and a plot that explains or highlights their motivations. This drama does neither nor. Clearly, this is my opinion, and I always appreciate a calm debate, so thanks for commenting. :D
You're not alone. It's a decent rom com, but it rests solely on the male lead and his kisses. The plot is incredibly…
@chai tea latte True, they will always be there and we must live with it, but some directors have the decency of blending those sponsors in the narrative and making it a little less blatant. Here at times I feel like I'm watching a commercial break.
I am at ep 10 and honestly I don’t know if I should go on. I know everyone likes it. I admit the chemistry is…
You're not alone. It's a decent rom com, but it rests solely on the male lead and his kisses. The plot is incredibly predictable and even the female lead (note I love Park Min Young) is, well, not that engaging.
I went reading your "spoilerful" review and I must say I found it much, much more entertaining than the drama itself. Hilarious, accurate and totally relatable. Thank you! :D
I enjoyed this article A LOT. You've done a fantastic research work here, at the same time accurate and thought-provoking.
For instance, I hadn't realized how double-standard the chasing trope can be and started asking myself whether I'm guilty of it myself. As a woman, I'm deterred by any display of a female lack of self respect, while I don't mind a man who gives up his pride in order to get the girl. Clearly, we could discuss for ever about the sociological implications of both scenarios, but for the sake of brevity I'd say it vastly depends on HOW the trope is developed, rather than who's chasing who. If, as a viewer, I perceive a true interest by the chased party, I'm obviously more prone to accept it and even enjoy it as part of the falling in love game. Also, when a woman chases a man because she's sure of herself and does her best - and I stress best, not her worst! - to win his heart, then I'm perfectly fine with it. It would explain why the same trope is vastly succesful in a drama and not so much in another.
Anyway, thank you for this great read. Keep the good work, I'm looking forward to the next chapters.
Awesome review and one I totally agree with. Very well said, silent. :)
It's as though the writer lost courage ongoing, resulting in a refreshingly "weird" adult turning into a not so refreshing "normal" one. And while I loved the study concept I've become a little tired of the neverending, overused ganbatte mantra. It took so much screen time, it kind of consumed and pulverized the initial spark.
I tend to do the same thing, I have probably 100 dramas in my W, PTW, OH lists but I sometimes go back and rewatch…
There's nothing worse to me than catch sight of a slump on the horizon. HYD's my personal anti-slump therapy. It reminds me of that special feeling of excitement I had in the beginning of my addiction. :D
I don't like this plot with a passion, but I can't help but check out all the live action adaptations. LOL roll…
I know, right? Like someone else pointed out here, it's one of those story we "secretly" enjoy. Like sneaking to the fridge in the middle of the night and eat chocolate cake while on a diet: "what, me? No, no. no..." ;-)

If not, I suggest you give it a try. He's fantastic in it, and the show isn't as hopeless as the premise may suggest. ;)
In any case, another While You were Sleeping sort of drama would suit me just fine, thank you.
Clearly, this is my opinion, and I always appreciate a calm debate, so thanks for commenting. :D
P.S. I love Leo, while I tolerate Brad... funny you mentioned those two among the lot. :D
If so, don't worry: they are popular enough not to be marred in any way by my humble opinion.

Oh, and I loved Yamashita too! :)
The hype baffles me too. :|
And the review's deliciously hilarious as always. :D
I'm 30 hours younger thanks to you, Jeana. :D
