Very well said. His loud silence can be deafening. (Which is why he drives YX crazy every time).
Let me sing more praises of ZY with you.

Zhuge Yue: He remains my main (and loveliest) character in the whole franchise, regardless of his surname. PA displayed his inner struggles better than Rebirth. How his personal convictions strived with his upbringing and duties over his making years. Rebirth did build on that, and showed his readiness for simplicity and peace. His loyalty can be rivalled by no other. His word was his bond, either to a friend or a foe. He is not a gullible optimist. You can tell his distrust towards his enemies and awful superiors. However he always begins with dialogue and only when that fails does he resort to strategising to win. His love was palpable, even when unexpressed. Even his icy days were a beauty to watch. As YX said, he is annoyingly self-righteous. His ability to take on every challenge and fight with his convictions to his very last breath, made him a literal superhero that cannot be killed. To top it all, he never seeks rewards - not when he saved Bingchang or even Ximeng. At least in Ximeng, he ended up with the King title. He is just too good to be true. And I must say, LYR depicted it all wonderfully. (Shout out to Lin Geng Xin).

(I have copied & pasted this from my review of the whole series after watching 30/40 episodes)

Rebirth..... Zhuge Yue really stands out as one of those characters you don’t easily forget.
What makes him so captivating is that quiet, mysterious aura he carries. He’s not the type who openly shows emotions, but the way he protects and cares for Chu Qiao speaks louder than words. Every small action—especially those subtle moments when he steps in to save her—feels intense and meaningful. It’s like his love and loyalty are always there, just hidden beneath that cold and composed exterior.
And honestly, Li Yun Rui portrayed him so well. His presence, the way he delivers his lines, and even his expressions during silent scenes make Zhuge Yue feel deep and layered. He gives that “strong but gentle” vibe, which makes fans admire him even more.
I also love how skilled he is in martial arts—every fight scene feels powerful and elegant at the same time. He’s not just a strategist but also someone who can stand his ground physically, which adds to his charm.
But what really hits is his connection with Chu Qiao. Even with misunderstandings and distance, you can feel that strong bond between them. Their chemistry isn’t loud or overly dramatic—it’s more on the emotional, slow-burn side, which makes it even more beautiful.
Zhuge Yue is the kind of character who makes you feel things quietly… but deeply.

Agree on all points especially turning FL into Joan of arc overnight making ML robo barbies side kick. And he’s the Marquis! Pisses me off to no end.

Excellent analysis. I agree completely. I remember in Secret of the Three Kingdoms how the romance between the leads became so much more poignant and mature because politics and country took precedence over personal feelings.

I just finished ep 19 so slowly catching up and enjoying every bit of Rebirth!!! I am sad and surprised it's not getting any more love with the MDL crowd with the ratings but I guess not knowing anything about PA or the book I am going into this with fresh eyes & no expectations and so really loving it! It reminds me of the Double but more epic in scope.

I really wish he would grow to be a more mature man. But when he burnt the letter, I was speechless. It is his…
What thingy and I don't see them as friends when he's so obsessed with getting the object of his obsession to hate her husband. Him burning that letter; I would have punched him.

He's a cry baby. And an obsessed one for that. I'm not watching today partially because of him. He's so blinded…
He and ZY cut ties and yet he like the herpes virus still won't leave them alone. He never understood the hardships of others or even tried to. I'm glad general Huan put him in his place by saying she's loyal to the country but not blindly to him and she wants her own troops. It's like he's the only one that suffered in the entire world and everyone in it owes him something. I'm sick of it. Be a king or give it to someone who can be. Leave CQ alone. She has told you repeatedly, she doesn't want you. We need to get off this hamster wheel like seriously. I hope after what we saw in tomorrow's previews, dickhead will go back to YB and ZY let's CQ out of prison and somewhere else to protect her. Last 6 episodes, need to wrap this up. Lots of things happening; don't need a rushed ending. Ironically the emoji for the last episode is a hotpot so I'm guessing the leads finally get to have that.

eps 33 = yeah, ZY its become idiotic again, about trusting YX again, and ZY is clueless again about politic and…
Yan Xun is the second person alive on earth, Zhuge Yue is number 1, who will protect Xing Er, no matter what, and has power to keep her safe when Zhuge Yue is not around. Zhuge Yue knows that and uses it to go and solve his family problem. So, he's smart, dear.

the screenplay writer has really truly ruined the drama, multiple events, happenings are all over the place, characterizations…
What drama are you watching? 🤣🤣🤣 It's alright if you can't follow the script, just move on with a slow and sexy drama, something with lots of wall slams and romantic tensions here and there. Those kind of drama doesn't require the viewer to think and use their brain. XD

Total Screen Time (Episode 1 - 31)

Huang Yang Tian Tian → 8 hr 14 min 59 sec

Li Yunrui → 6 hr 02 min 35 sec

Zhang Kangle → 3 hr 33 min 18 sec

Li Xiaoqian → 2 hr 51 min 00 sec

Li Meng → 1 hr 33 min 39 sec

Xia Meng → 1 hr 35 min 30 sec

now all can see the screen timer has become HYTT > LYR > ZKL
so i hope some people should stop spreading misinformation by saying the ml was like a guest character because of first few episodes ,and also saw a person saying it was supposed to male centric drama .I don't know who told them it was supposed to be a male centric drama lol.

Like it's not only this one ,i saw similar comments whenever a male lead appeared less in any episodes ,they started complaining especially when the ml is popular one's .
Yes i would love to see the ml having more scene especially if the ml is likable and the actor can act but when it comes to a heavily female centered drama ,they can't make him appear in every scene if it's not required .It's the artist knew very well .I have no problem when a drama expanded the male leads scene more than the novel but I saw many drama, won't take the name, where in order to make the male lead appearing in many scenes they added some parts which wasn't needed at all ,even gave fl's highlighted parts to him which pissed me off .This is the reason i avoided every of my favorite female centric novel adaptation (like the author QSCK's novel adaptation ) Because i know they are gonna butcher it.

That would be different case if the male leads total Screen Time is less compared to side male characters or their highlighted part has been given to others when in the end they have to take the blame if the drama become unsuccessful which is totally unfair .

I feel the most disgusted, and I feel like throwing up, when I see the main male hero, whose life principle is,…
Up until episode 31, Zhuge Yue endured a lot, sacrificed a lot, and did a lot of awful things in the name of family and loyalty, you can't blame him for trying to run away with Chu Qiao and choosing to be happy just once.

True. Rebirth is worth watching and worth the wait. I thought I'm never gonna see the ending of Princess Agents, but they made an effort to continue the story, and though changes were made in Rebirth, I could still see and relate the plot and characters from PA. So as a fan of the drama, I'm really thankful and happy. 🥰🥰🥰

It’s not hard for kiss-asses to brag about how good it is, but the ratings prove otherwise. Let me show you…
I understand your point, and honestly, it’s okay that we see the drama differently. Everyone has their own expectations, especially when it comes to a sequel like Rebirth and its connection to Princess Agents.
For me, I didn’t watch it expecting it to be exactly the same as the first season. I see it more as a continuation where the characters have already grown and changed because of everything they went through. That’s why the dynamic between Chu Qiao and Zhuge Yue feels different now—they’re no longer in a master-servant situation, but partners who fight side by side.
I actually appreciate that Chu Qiao is stronger and more independent this time. It shows her development, not just as a fighter but as a leader. At the same time, Zhuge Yue still shows his strength, just in a more supportive and strategic way, which I personally find meaningful.
The drama definitely has flaws, and it may not meet everyone’s expectations, but I still enjoy it for the story, the characters, and especially the performances. In the end, I think it really depends on what each viewer is looking for 😊
