The Zhuge family is actually very toxic. You get that during PA where he has been target for assassination from other branches of his family because he was the most capable and yet an outlier. Part of the reason that the FL had not stayed with ML and chose Yan Xun was because she could never accept their abusive slave practices - while Zhuge Yue was the kinder of them all - his family's power and status came from their ruthless ways of training spies and acquiring slaves. As long as he stayed loyal to Zhuge family, FL would never accept him. So the opening of Rebirth where Zhuge Yue falls into the ice lake - signifies the death of Zhuge Yue and his loyalty to his family.

It's because of adult haters who have the emotional growth of a 3 year old child and throw tantrums without being able to use critical thinking. 🙄

They're just mad the original cast isn't back and because the actress embodying Chu Qiao was 17 when filming this. They very conveniently ignore the fact that despite the romance between Zhuge Yue and Chu Qiao, the production has been incredibly respectful towards the young lady, limiting the skinship between FL and ML to hugs, carrying each other and occasional hand holding or at most gently caressing the face. I don't expect to see an actual kiss at all and I'm perfectly fine with that, it's the right thing to do. 👍

See how these same people will give 1* ratings to "Key to the Phoenix Heart" next.😒 It's inevitable. I'm just sad for the cast. They shouldn't have to deal with all the crucifying these people are doing. I hope this doesn't affect anyone's career, it's such a shame.

I honestly think most of the bad reviews are because they didn't bring back the original cast. People are petty as hell. I get that there is disappointment in a recast (I was bummed myself) but what were they supposed to do when the originals were unavailable or refused to take part? But this cast is doing an amazing job. People need to stop nitpicking every freaking thing just because things didn't necessarily go their way

I’ve finished watching Episodes 26–27, and I absolutely loved these episodes! They were so satisfying and emotional to watch. One of my favorite moments was when Chu Qiao was saved by Zhuge Yue—that scene was truly powerful and showed how much they mean to each other.
It was also amazing to see Chu Qiao become the Queen of Ximeng. She looked so beautiful and elegant, especially with the Ximeng hairstyle—it really suited her and highlighted her strong yet graceful presence. I love how she showed so much care and concern for King Ximeng, Zhuge Yue. Their relationship feels deeper and more meaningful in these episodes.
As a couple, they look so perfect together. Every scene they share is a joy to watch—their chemistry, teamwork, and the way they support and protect each other make their bond even more special. Whether in emotional moments or action scenes, they always shine together.
Zhuge Yue is as handsome and charismatic as ever, and Chu Qiao continues to impress with her strength and beauty. Both the male lead and female lead are truly amazing, especially when they’re side by side, facing challenges and helping each other.
I really hope their story continues to grow and that they fully become a couple with more beautiful moments together. I’m definitely looking forward to the next episodes!

I did the same I never pay attention to people’s negative comments I watch a show and determine for myself whether I’m going to like it or not. So far I’m on episode 25 so obviously something worked.

I continued watching this beautiful Rebirth Chinese drama, and I’m really thankful that I didn’t let the negative comments influence me—I chose to judge it for myself, and I’m so glad I did. I ended up truly enjoying it.
Zhuge Yue, as the male lead, is incredibly handsome in every scene. He perfectly embodies the character, bringing both strength and mystery to the role. His acting is amazing, and his martial arts and swordsmanship are truly impressive—every fight scene feels powerful and captivating.
I also love that I gave a chance to Chu Qiao. She is not only pretty but also very talented. Despite being a younger actress, she delivers her role so well. Her acting shows great potential, and her martial arts skills are outstanding. She brings both strength and emotion to her character, making her performance enjoyable to watch.
Together, they are an amazing pair. Their chemistry, teamwork, and presence on screen make every scene more engaging. They truly complement each other as the main leads.
Overall, I’m really happy I continued watching this drama. It keeps getting better, and I’m excited for the upcoming episodes!

Don’t try too hard to relate it to the previous drama—the opposite works better. The story isn’t very well connected to the prequel, and you’ll lose a lot if you force the connection to PA. But if you view the drama as separate from PA, it’s actually a much better watch and a strong series. Especially in the later episodes, you’ll get hooked. For me, that happened after episode 9—I couldn’t stop watching after that, as the tension keeps rising. The quality, the attachment to the protagonists, and the dislike of the antagonists all increase as well. I really hope this continues all the way to the end of the drama. So far (episode 25), I’m not disappointed—on the contrary, I’m glad I gave this drama a chance on its own rather than as a sequel to PA.

PS: btw it is a heavy drama with lots of killed characters. Some baddies you'll love to see getting punnished but also some good characters you will miss...

1. Yes, unfortunately, between the SML-->FL <-> ML. The SML has an obsessive crush on the FL. I hate love triangles but here in this drama it is not as annoying as elswhere because it is a substancial part of the main plot.
