Title Till the End of the Moon Spoiler
In the entire drama my most two favourite episodes are ep 39&40.Since from ep 37 I understood what's going to happen in the end so re-watched each episodes more than twice. They should release atleast one special episode for the viewers. For me the ending was beautiful yet painful(as expected) though but have little confusion in my mind, does TTJ got reincarnated at the end after 500yrs later? if so then I really wish them to release one extra ep where I can watch TTJ to get reunited with his wife and daughter.Btw,both the leads are strong so I already knew this drama is gonna be 🔥

Everyone has the right to hold their own opinion... and this is just my opinion. Personally, I prefer not to compare stories involving gods and demons to real-life relationships. However, I have noticed a noticeable amount of gender bias present. Just because the female lead doesn't want to sacrifice everything for the male lead, or because the ML does not seek revenge for her actions, it does not mean that there is anything inherently wrong with the characters. If the roles were reversed, it would be seen as another tale of a deserving hero and his beloved. It appears that the discomfort arises because the hero is now a woman. Upholding justice does not make you cruel, and having a deep love for someone does not make you their victim. It is a complex relationship, but one that is passionately and well depicted.

Couldnt agree more, for me this is the darkest xianxia I've ever watched, the story is complex, complicated and…
Absolutely agree.
TTJ character is very enchanting. He is not your typical goody-two-shoes villain, but he was the real evil and demonic ML which is very rare in c-drama potrayal for their main leads.
LSS is also differrent. She was very focus to safe realms, not being fully swayed by love situation like many other dramas FL. Not your usual damsel in distress. She was really strong-willed FL.
This drama is like big slapped to every production house 😂

Couldnt agree more, for me this is the darkest xianxia I've ever watched, the story is complex, complicated and heavy that you have to think twice to understand the story.

We are forced to see the story from the "villain's" pov, evil being good and good being evil, but I like this unique plot, because it is very rare for xianxias or wuxias to brings the stories like this. That's why this one is one of my fav dramas ever 😄

Etto...
It seems like this drama is too complicated for some people.
I will not blame them. If they were looking for lovey dovey bombastic scenes in most of the episodes, this is not for them.
This drama is very angst from the start, but along the way it also has rosey road from ML and FML love story.
All characters are so complex. LSS is one from minorities, very little group of FMLs who is not just thinking about her love but also all realms living beings. For me, she was consistent throughout the series. She was focus on her goal, to kill demon god and safe the realms. But, of course she couldn't help but fell in love with the devil fetus. All tribulations came to them. That's why we saw enemy to lover to enemy again and to lover till the end.
She has to choose between her only lover or all living beings.
If you are her, which one will you choose then?
She was in dilemma.
That's why in the last episode, she who was ascending as a goddess, ready to be vanished with TTJ aka did couple su*cide. But TTJ pushed her so she can be alive. For me, his selfless love scene was so beautifully done.
In the end, both of them were ready to sacrifice their own self for their loved one. It is very hopelessly romantic for me.
For this reason, this drama is different for any of the dramas I've ever watched.
It's your choice to watch it or not, to like or dislike.
Well, we can't satisfy everyone. So, take whatever you want. Take it or leave it. It is that simple guys.

Wow checking this today and the comment section is very… lets say passionate 😳 Whether people liked TTEOTM or not, it definitely impacted them with strong emotions.

Much as I love TTEOTM, I have to agree that the TTEOTM editing team could have squeezed 15s or 1 min for a simple happy ending without showing us all the cute stuff that happened with TTJ, LSS & A-mi. I believe it would been satisfying enough to have a positive impact on the ratings as well as viewership. This would also be in line with the novel which some people have read and loved. I think the uproar comes about as this was not in line with the novel conclusion nor was it better than the novel conclusion. If the ending showed was indeed a much better and more powerful conclusion compared to the novel, then there will be no uproar and ratings would continue to go up and not come down due to viewers disappointment and confusion.

We also have to remember there are folks out there who cannot take being traumatised as well as us who watched the full 40 episodes while ugly crying together. 😭😭😭😭 LOL...that makes us all sound sadistic or just hardcore LYX and BL fans. 🤪😂😅

As for me, I think therapy at LIS is helping and reading the novel final chapters with the HE which Micha101 kindly translated and posted for us. My traumatised heart is coming to terms that this is the ending Youku team has chosen to go with. I do not agree with it but it is what it is. Let's give our support as overall it was a great show that captivated us for the last few weeks. Let's drink to that! Cheers! 🍾🍷🥂🍸🍹🍺

First, this drama was adapted from a DARK ROMANCE novel literally entitled, "Black Moonlight Guaranteed Bad Ending Script".
If that does not clue you in, let me spell it out for you. It means the main story is going to have a bad ending.

Second, on the toxicity of the ML and FL, the drama does not even compare to how cruel these characters are to each other in the novel. I do not defend toxic relationships in real life but this fictional premise is set up for the characters to hate and love in equal measures. Li Susu, who saw the annihilation of the sects and the destruction caused by Devil God, was sent back to kill evil fetus Tantai Jin. While drama Tantai Jin is more sympathetic, it doesn't remove the fact that his existence means eventual destruction. Li Susu is ruthless because their love, hate, and personal desires are secondary compared to the saving of the Three Realms.

Xianxias are influenced by the philosophies of Taoism and Buddhism thus showing concepts like Yin and Yang, severing worldly desires to attain immortality, and living in harmony with the universe.

Third, I personally thought the editing of the first quarter of the drama was on point but suffered from occasional editing issues after that due to the regulation change. However, the story was mostly intact and comprehensible.

Fourth, the acting of most of the cast is unassailable. The CGI, make-up, costumes, OST, etc. are incidentals.

Lastly, many of us here watched TTEOTM and know that it has its highs and lows. We love it because, even with its flaws, it resonates with us.

We all have the right to express our opinions but seeing a regurgitation of negative rhetoric is just disturbing. On the other hand, a healthy discussion is always welcome. Peace and love!✌️ 💕

P.S. For those who are traumatised by the drama ending, the HE chapters from the novel are in the discussion. 😂

Objectively speaking, there are easy methods to judge whether a story has happy or sad ending. The main characters…
Best comment ever!
I think in majority, drama watchers tend to see HE as main couple get together, regardless of other aspects. However, in here, we know LSS cares about the world. TTJ initially didn’t, but he loves LSS so much that he knows LSS loves this world and therefor he wants to protect the world too. Their wishes come true, so this is HE for their definition.
We, viewers, may want different story for them because we have observed their journey and suffering. But well, TTJ and LSS are the one living in this ‘drama’, so if this is HE for them, let them have it this way…seeing TTJ’s peaceful smile at the end is so deep for me :)

I heard Luo Yunxi was the third choice for ml for TTEOTM but honestly I can't see Tantai jin someone else other…
Youku is a big organisation. It could be Youku Boss A preferring Actor X and Youku Boss B preferring Actor Y etc for a role. I am guessing that perhaps rumours come about if a magazine got a quote from Youku Boss A who said Actor X is being considered at that point in time and the magazine prints it. But in the end the based on Youku's selection process, their board probably decided that LYX is the best bet for successful shows and offered him the scripts to choose

We will not know what are Youku's criteria on actor selection for the various main roles that they have. But whatever it is, just glad that the drama series gods shone brightly on LYX and we've got him as our TTJ, that is all that matters. :)

Interesting to note that though it is nice to be the first choice, many actors who were not first choice turned out to be the best choice.

I remember Chris Hemsworth was not the first choice to play Thor. Marvel team wanted to give that role to Daniel Craig. But so glad the role went to Chris Hemsworth in the end as I cannot imagine Daniel Craig as Thor. LOL And Daniel Criag was also not the first choice to play James Bond, Wolverine Hugh Jackman was the first choice for Bond. Keanu Reeves was also not the first choice for Neo in the Matrix, he was the 6th choice, but as we can see now, the best choice to play Neo. Will Smith was then the first choice for the role of Neo, but he turned it down. I think everything worked out for the best in the end for everyone. Both the audience and the actors.

Let's not bother too much if LYX is the first choice, second choice or etc choice. Great if he is the first choice, but most importantly LYX is the BEST choice for the role of TTJ. 😁🙂

It's been several days already but I can't move on from this drama yet. Why 😭
I couldn't watch any drama right now because my mind and my heart still can't let go TTEOTM. Maybe because the final was so heartbreaking. I keep thinking it over and over.
The last time I felt like this is when I watched the final of Empress Ki. I was going crazy to download all the main characters mv/fmv. It's been years ago. Even Tan Tai Jin is like emperor Ta Hwan in term of being betrayed by all sides 💔
Back then I still could watch any drama just fine. But, it's different with TTEOTM. I'm still sad 😢
The final was really impactful.
When I think it again, it's really the best ending for overall story.
TTJ's all life was being manipulated by ADG. Except his decision to safe all realms. He saved his dear lover, his light. In the end, it's his own choice to rewrite his fate. His sacrificed against ADG's script is what make him his own individual, his own self. Not devil fetus, not devil reincarnation, not demon, not monster, just Tan Tai Jin.
Gosh, I feel sad again 😭😭😭😭😭

So I finally finished the drama, and I know it's not exactly happy ending and I'm not sure if I read the ending correctly, BUT judging by the last scene I think TTJ is somehow still alive in the Scale and SuSu knows and is waiting for him to return. Something like God of War on Bo're life. Not sure if it's correct but I like the idea and I can live with it as form of promise of their future happy life that we won't get to see, but it's there❤️

The one tantai Jin loved was Li Susu not ye xiwu really! So it doesn't make any sense to have tombs together with…
How I saw the tombstone scene is that TTJ was planning to die but he was also planning to keep safe LSS no matter what. LSS tried to die with him but he saved her. He said “sorry I lied to you again” when she was unconscious. LSS then woke up and saw the tombstone of TTJ and YXW and said “you lied to me again” because YXW is dead but LSS lives on. TTJ made her believe that they will die together but actually his real plan was always to save LSS. So that’s why its YXW name, that part of her indeed died 500 years ago and not LSS because she is still alive.

This is a story that beyond love. It's more about growing up, life or death. In the beginning TTJ only wants to survive, no matter eating spoiled food or the rats in the gutter; however in the end he wants to kill himself to save the whole world... The preciousness of life is that it cannot be repeated, and this is also the reason of the greatness of sacrificing one's life.
