I miss that evil laugh, from ADG, to DG 3.0. That was a brilliant laugh, so very different than Yunxi own voice.

Listening to Mysterious Bird OST reminds you of all the beautiful moments! It's actually healing for that finale!

The emotions from LYX and BL were spot on. Re-watching it, I had to admit that LSS although she didn’t confess, her emotions showed her love for TTJ and TTJ understands. As many pointed out what’s important to him is the safety of the three realms and LSS. So he doesn’t need the world to like him or honor his deed. That’s the most lovable part of TTJ’s character, when he decided, he will see through it, and it’s true to who he is.
And this drama ends with LSS has to live with only TTJ’s memory, I doubt he can come back, but it’s fine as she definitely have regrets but also love.
There I can reconcile.

Leo understanding of his character is very surprising. From sev interviews, book author, director, script writer and producer have all spoken that he often surprised them with his own understanding of the character. That's why each one of his role is breathing and alive.

That’s the point - a consistently evil character can redeem herself with a good deed but TTJ who was harmless by comparison couldn’t? I make the comment half in jest to highlight the sense of injustice and dissatisfaction the ending conveys.

True. I mean I hated her as ye bingchang but as mo nv she was totally fine.She tried to live true to her heart. I mean if that would be the case we should hate that piece of soul of li susu whow was real ye xiwu. Because let's be honest, that one was really bad too. I am more baffled on gongye jiwu but I guess it was more because they cut to much it was so incoherent his actions,he changed way too fast.

Yes Xianxia is centred around self sacrifice for greater good, others and the whole world as xianxia is originated from ancient daoism in China and that's the main theme of Daoism😌

But xianxias follow the trope of self-sacrifice and giving up on one's own love for the benefit of mankind, among others. This has not changed in the past 20-30 years which is why I only limit myself to watching 1 a year, or 2 max.

Yes, if they like TTEOTM so much,they will support it whatever the ending is and never give or change the rate into 1 star 😥, but I wondering ... If TTEOTM wasn't cut into 40 episodes and had the original version (which is 56 or 58?), would the ending be the same as the novel (have HE) or still have the same ending as the current ending?

For me, I think I can accept the ending but there was plenty of missing in the end. There was no closure to other leads/characters in the drama. This is probably to 40 eps rule imposed but I based my ratings in the drama shown not by novel or leaked script. If only they could have shown it and the final scene in the leaked where TTJ shadow is shown it would have been better. The editing team failed in this regard. They could have cut the flashback scenes instead and cut some during the dream arc to give more space for immortal arc.

Sad to see the rate went down. Hopefully will go up again. Thinking of the 7 past XanXia drama I had watched, all had a happy ending even no closure, it was a happy open ending. None had a tragic ending like this even those with tragic ending there was a few minutes of how ML returned or an epilogue. Guess this is how TTJ want to end it. Respect that. Rewatching it 😊

Yeah. It's not fair to bring down the rating just because of the ending.

Need to also think about the effort of the whole team before, during and after filming. The performance of the actors, the sets, costumes, props, etc. Seeing the low rating adds to my pain.
