I didn't find Dark Blue and Midnight toxic at all. It showed the complexity of adult relationships painfully and…
YES! 100% true.....When I see people praise Addicted ( a horrible drama/novel) and hate on Dark Blue and Moonlight, I want to bash my head in. DB&M was not toxic in the sense that people want to mold it into. As someone who is much older than most people here, I got to say that DB&M really portrayed the complexities of relationships. What I find toxic about this series though is the friendships with the 4 boys. It wasn't an equal friendship...but even then it isn't as horrible as some people see it. But I guess everyone has their own definitions of what they consider toxic.
OMG, this drama is so perverted! I can no longer sympathize with Nira. She IS the problem. The doctor's concern…
She is definitely mentally unwell and it presents itself in dangerous ways. The actress portraying her is doing an amazing job. I am enjoying this because I have seen clients like her in my profession and it's interesting.
Most people might disagree with me, but I am so happy that we finally have a series with actually flawed characters…
Exactly. A lot of people want to see cutesy/flowery dramas and that's okay, but we also should see more realistic dramas that take on hard topics and present it in a way that is both artistically done well and does not make a mockery of the subject.
I have never been more glad that a show was coming to its end. I agree with other people that this show is extremely…
While I agree to some extent, I'm also glad that they have decided to produce something like this. We have to be realistic, there a many people in relationships such as this and though it is toxic, we should be exposed to it so we can learn what NOT to accept. I do agree that if we had some background on why THIRD even likes khai, maybe we might sympathize a little bit with him, but again I am grateful that we got to see another side of relationships that aren't always rainbows and unicorns.
Esp Off Gun...if they can bring out raw emotions in me then the acting is good. And boy did they bring out the…
Yes Off really impressed me. I mean he's a good comedic actor, but taking on this role showed that he has range. Gun is always great at what he does. Natural actor.
Despite the dislike for the characters and their stories, no one can't deny that this series has been well acted. Many dislike the characters because they are too close to life---art imitating life and all that jazz. I know plenty of Aholes like Khai and plenty of people like Third whom seem to have little to no self-love and cling to a hopeless crush/love. My only real critique of this drama is the hetero couple. As I had mentioned a while ago, there was NO NEED to make the teacher into this insipid character. The trope of the cheating boyfriend and all that was stupid.
I have to agree with you. These two need to go work on themselves then try again. Right now, the relationship…
Actors are always looking for ways to grow their craft. They've already done the light hearted comedic dramas. They don't want to be type cast like a lot of actors are. Gun himself is a great actor because he takes on different roles all the time. I think that this is the perfect drama for OFF so he can grow more as actor. I'm actually quit sick of cute/light hearted dramas as they just keep recycling the same tropes. I would like to see more dark/realistic stuff just to get a break from those cutesy BLS. I think we all need a healthy balance of all types of dramas. But that's just my opinion.
Honestly, I'm watching this for Jennie and Tay. I am getting the feeling that this might either be SUPER GOOD or SUPER BAD...but either way, I'll watch it.
I am curious why Thailand has standard 12/14 episodes per series....why not make it longer?
It might be from a budget point of view. They want to see how popular the series would be before green-lighting a second season and how much money they can milk out of it. Many series end up not having a second season due to money issues.
I've been team Ben from the moment he was introduced! He's such a great character and someone who truly supports Nira. I don't like her uncle-in-law for her.
OF course their relationship is toxic as hell the way it is right now, but can't deny it's entertaining to watch…
I agree, but some people in toxic relationships often will continue to be in the relationship unless something drastic/traumatic happens. They tend not to listen to other people's advice. But then you also have those people who may not see how their relationship is toxic (for whatever reasons, like...denial), but will see something like this drama and a light-bulb suddenly turns on in their heads. There is no way to tell how someone will perceive something.
Just caught up on episode 9, and I still feel how I did around episode 4 - like I'm watching an emotional trainwreck…
OF course their relationship is toxic as hell the way it is right now, but can't deny it's entertaining to watch LOL. So long as people realize that this is fiction and should not be modeled in real life, then it's all good. Sometimes we have to see what toxic relationships look like so we can also avoid them.
To be honest, I don't even know why that coupling is in this. Most times I wanna skip it but afraid I might miss…
LOL Me too, though I find Bone to be a good friend. I also don't get why every BL seems to perpetuate that all men/boys are suddenly gay. Like, Gay people have regular hetero friends as well as Bisexual friends and so on. I mean I get why they do it, which is to give fans different types of BL couples, but it takes away from the genuineness of the story. I don't mind if Bone decides to stay alone, because sometimes loving oneself is enough to help them grow.
The only pairing I'm not too fond of is the Bone/Parn Pairing by the way they are hinting at it on the next episode preview. I thought it was great that Parn seemed amused and tickled by Bone's obvious flirting or attempt at it, but as an older woman/teacher she wasn't showing any romantic feeling. I also liked that she was engaged and seemed happy for the most part. But to show in the preview that she and Bone kiss, that just seems like such a waste of a story line that would have given Bone a much needed character growth. For Parn to have been a lesson for him would have been great. Imagine Bone who was a womanizer finally falling for a woman he could not have? And that woman being so sure in her conviction about her love for her partner, it would have taught Bone that you can fall in love and be loyal to someone. I think it was a waste to introduce her fiance if they were going to diminish her relationship anyways. Other than that, this was such a good episode. Off was really adorable in many scenes.
Anyways, this was a good start so far...Typical mafia drama so nothing too over the top yet.
