This was the most random drama I watched in a long time. It seemed like ~50 "case of the week" episodes á 10 minutes rather than a completely coherent series. Sure, it followed a main story, but everytime I thought "oh, here's comes a big conflict" it basically solved itself almost immediately. I mean, I'm all for a harmonious stories and all, but then you could have made it a light-hearted romcom instead of a story with 100 problems that weren't problems at all at the end of the day. Story and execution wise probably the weakest Thai GL so far (MelindaBrooks' review is basically my opinion aswell), the only thing I really liked about it was the side couple and the grandparents.
They're cute and have chemistry, but the series is like if they filmed a lot of different scenes for every episode and then just threw them in the air and cut them together in the order they fell. One scene they're smooching each others faces and are lovey dovey while 10 seconds later they start at 0 again and act surprised if one character flirts with the other. It's cute nonetheless, even if it gives off serious amateur college filmclub vibes.
I could copypaste my comment from "Catch Cat Crush", but this one was at least a bit better. Acting still super shaky, chemistry not really existent and the production is still hurting my eyes, as in almost every other H'our series. It seems like they found their "young energetic girl annoys the older girl next door" niche. Unfortunately it still looks like a middle school girl is crushing on her older sister's college friend and the story was like one second they tease each other, the next one hates the other, the next they are laughing together and find each other cute. I definitely prefer H'ou's other couple's dramas, like "Now It's My Turn". Even if their acting is super shaky aswell, they at least have chemistry together.
Really enjoyable drama about self-discovery, but the young rich guy is such a red flag... constantly stalking her at her job, always dragging her along even though she didn't give him an answer (yet), even going so far as to invite himself when she wants to visit her family in another prefecture. He was an absolute out for me, especially because it's kind of romantacized and she's like "he never oversteps boundaries". And all that while she thinks she has a stalker that turns out to be just a misunderstanding. Overall I liked it, even though I prefered the jouney more than the very luke warm destination.
The Japanese word "事件" (jiken) means incident or "(police) case". Basically "crime that's yet to be solved". Most subbers always translate it with incident.
Sadly yes, it seems so... :(So I suppose season 2 not gonna have subs neither...
Yeah, I was pretty convinced you know who I was talking about. They're pretty infamous with other subbers aswell because they announce 3 different dramas per season as soon as they're official so no one else will pick them up and then drop two along the way sometimes. But the whole "someone already announced it, so I won't do it" mindset is pretty dumb anyways. Why wouldn't another subber pick up a drama if they're super interested in it even though someone else already announced it. Really elevates the quality if you ask me. The anime scene really flourished when that was still a thing there, before everyone just stopped making them altogether and started using slop streaming service subs for their releases instead.
Oh, I haven't even looked at Anpan yet. Usually I wait 6 - 12 months before I check if someone subbed a new Asadora. Especially with stories that are set before the 1980s, because they aren't really my thing anyways. They're someone reliable, but on the side of "I don't want anyone to use my subs, even on private sites". Unfortunately there are so many problems with hardcoded videos that it's definitely more of a detriment than a good thing. But Irozuku definitely earn the money they make with their patreon because their subs are usually very high quality and will always be completed, so that's a big plus. People from the future just have to hope someone with an abundance of space on their PC will store them if a scenario like that happens or someone who paid for them is still around and wants to share. Put the post in a spoiler because it was pretty long and didn't want to clog the comment section even more ;)
There's no need for streaming sites if the whole drama is for free with subs on Youtube. Support the official channels of the production companies so we maybe get better production value and more/longer episodes next time instead of throwing your money at sites who steal content/subs just to make money off of it themselves.

Aww, sorry to disappoint, it's just a variation of my irl nickname a chronically online friend of mine gave me years ago.
On topic: Asadoras are really bad aswell. Some people sub 2 or 3 weeks and then discontinue it without a word. There's a particular fansubber who did this a few years back and it's been, I think, 4 years now without any update on 3 or 4 Asadoras while they continue to sub multiple dramas per season and ignore everyone who asks about tha Asadoras (at least one of them got finished by someone else luckily). But there are several other Asadoras who got started and then discontinued and forgotten. And of course, I understand if someone drops a drama, even if they just don't like it... what I don't understand is why people drop something because it's "too much work", I'd think it's common sense how much time and effort you'd need to put into subbing 130+ episodes or even 10 50 minute episodes before you start. And I don't think it'll hurt anyone if it's communicated that the project is dropped, at least then people know they can give up waiting.

I love JDramas and the JDrama scene and I absolutely 100% appreciate every fansubber out there, but... why is it that an older JDrama that's not subbed has at least a 5% chance of still getting subs in the future... but the chance of someone completing a dropped/unfinished drama is basically 0? This unwillingness to compromise is really unbearable sometimes. I probably deleted about 30 dropped JDramas from my PTW list just a few weeks ago because they don't have a chance of ever being completed.
"... he meets Asahi, an older woman...", she's 29 and doesn't look it. I don't think I'll watch this drama, but I'm intrigued how they make that work, if it's not just poorly worded in the synopsis.
It's a shoujo manga adaption, so I don't think there'll be an international release and I don't think any streaming platform will pick it up in the foreseeable future (except maybe Viki, don't know if they have movies in their library).
sry 😭 https://drive.proton.me/urls/G29KB9BZR4#pdSqkEetdmS2 is subs by pecanbird 😍 from https://www.reddit.com/r/JapaneseMovies/comments/1inj6ov/comment/mcbwl9p
I found subtitles, seemingly not machine translated. But I haven't watched the movie yet, so I can't say for sure. Maybe those are even the same. But big thanks for replying!
Probably my favorite H'our mini-drama so far. It's cute and funny. The acting is a bit shaky and the production isn't very good, but it's a mini Youtube drama, so I'm not complaining about that. The two main actresses also have a ton more chemistry than H'our's other pair that's in Hidden Heat and the Cat drama. The absence of this dull, washed-out filter that's in every H'our drama (except Reset to Remember, the main pairings other series) is also very much appreciated.
your profile from pluto?? i don't remember this scene but they look like them.
To sum it up (in my opinion of course): Affair is a solid 7.5 to 8 until the next to last episode, then it goes downhill fast because it gets really stupid (in my head I gave the last two episodes a reeeaaaal generous 4). But the chemistry is off the charts and it's the GL with the most realistic "romantic scenes".
I'm sorry to say this, but those two have no romantic chemistry whatsoever. It was halfway decent in their last drama because they were colleagues, but this one is more like "the 18 year old neighbors kid likes the cool 30 year old woman next door" story with the middle schooler bothers the sister's best friend from college vibe. Their acting is kind of watching a college or even high school production and this filter H'our always uses, that makes everything look dull, washed-out and in 480p, doesn't help the cause. Even though it's also not that great, their other mini series that aired at the same time (Reset to Remember) is lengths better in chemistry, acting and video quality.
First, please take in mind they changed a LOT from the book. Karan is the eldest daughter of Jattawa and Four,…
Maybe I should just read the books. Usually I always read the source material if I find a drama or movie interesting but have the suspicion that there's a lot left out in the script. If it's a Yuri anime I usually don't even bother anymore and just read the manga after the Yagate Kimi ni Naru (Bloom into You) desaster 10 years ago. Do you know how many books Zezho wrote for this universe? I think I read somewhere that Karan's sister also gets a drama or that the rights for her story were at least bought, so maybe I should start reading before this one gets filmed. Again, thanks for indulging me, I'm new to Thai dramas/stories in general and usually only dabble in Japanese media, which is a completely different world, from production to fan interaction and communities.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I agree, it's a shame they didn't explain anything in the drama. They even had the chance, but just left it at "you can't do it when you bleed and you lose part of your lifespan", without explaining it further. But it's kind of expected that the cost of Karan's powers is much steeper because of how much more powerful she is. I was a bit disappointed they completely left out Vivi and never even mentioned her once because she was kind of my favorite character how she was depicted in the R4U drama. What I meant with "they were a lot different" was more about their personalities (which is partly expected because people change) and professions, but I noticed while writing this here that people who only know the drama (like me) don't even know what Jattawa ended up doing after her law studies because it was a different timeline from the one when she worked as prosecutioner. I didn't even know who was who of those two in Reverse With Me, but maybe I just missed it when they introduced themselves to Kliao. I also liked that they never showed Wa's and Four's faces when they were younger, kind of kept the immersion going. Only put it in spoiler because of the length of my comment.
I don't know if this was supposed to be artsy, but I found it very confusing how much time went by between scenes. At first I thought they were jumping back and forth between high school and the present, because after it starts at high school we get a one year skip and they then simply ignore each other in the next scene and then out of nowhere go home together and make out, so I thought it was a flashback to high school when they explored their feelings. No indications how or when they got together or why one ignored the other in the beginning, nothing. And then the movie skips so much time between scenes it makes it seem like a diashow at a wedding with random photos throughout their relationship and no time indicators when those photos were taken. But I liked the realistic problems they faced, that they made it about a "relationship" and not a "lesbian relationship" and the open end. 6/10
Overall I enjoyed it, but it was kind of lackluster at times. I don't know why they had to have the same flashbacks a few times every episode, kind of reminded me of the KDrama Extraordinary You, which kind of pissed me off in that one, too. The romance was pretty underdeveloped and super inconsistent at times. They had chemistry together (and were super fun in the Behind the Scenes), but it's like the director/screenwriter didn't care one bit about their romance and instead used the time for another flashback or two. I also don't know why they included the "second couple" (they took away 5 minutes of the last episode for example). Kliao's friend was nice and her having a crush was kinda cute in the first few eps, but later on I really couldn't care less about either of them because they were just bland underdeveloped characters. Like a lot of other commenters, I enjoyed Reverse 4 You a lot more, even if it was way too short. I gave it a 7.5 nonetheless because I liked the story overall, the production was nice to look at, it didn't feel too short or too long and the chemistry and acting was good.
Question(s) for the people who read the novel... or in general people who can answer: I thought Karan was the daughter of the Reverse 4 You pair? But the mothers are completely different from R4U and where was Jattawa's sister? For the fact that they made a big deal out of "always staying together" she was never even mentioned once. It's like this is a completely different timeline (like the one the story is set in before the big reset in R4U) or the R4U pair are the aunts/grandparents of Karan. The time powers were pretty different as well. While in R4U the time Jattawa loses was proportional to how much she rewinds (if I understood it correctly), here it cost "10 years" of Karan's life for rewinding a few months? Is it just a different condition and disproportionate because Karan is way more powerful than Jattawa or did she need a few tries to get it right? Or is it kind of tied to what you do with it, like if you save one persons life once, X years will be deducted? If the novels are the same I'd probably lose my mind if I'd read them with those apparent inconsistencies. There's other stuff about the powers that doesn't make sense to me, but those were probably included for story and dramatic purposes.
