Well, after the latest trailer my last hope for the first "light-hearted GL rom-com" (that's not a high school drama) went out the window. I think I said it in a comment here before, but why is it so hard to make a fun(ny) GL without the "but I'm getting married to some annoying dude" or "but my family pressures me to do X, so we can't be together" angles?
Sooooooooooo. The last two episodes will be exclusively on the L App and you need to register for it? I hope this "our series (or part of it) is only available on app #293" trend doesn't continue. If you ask me, it's pretty annoying to download 700 different apps to watch dramas, especially if they're lesbian dating apps and I'd need to create a fake account.
They post a lot on tiktok but other than that it seems they're not doing much at all.
I know this is an unfair comparison, but when I see how much promo LMSY gets/does for their new drama, I feel pretty bad for the Queendom actresses, even the girls from Player the Series get tons more exposure. I actually forgot why I subscribed to the WeTV YT channel and after scrolling through 4 months and about 100 videos I remembered this is the studio of Queendom.
Are they running any PR for this? I'm not big on Social Media, but I just noticed the last YT video they uploaded for it was April 1st and that was the only one since the pilot, the bts and the reaction of it. Such a shame that they don't really seem to care to upload any videos to promote it and rather upload 100s of videos of the BL that's currently airing.
Sadly yes, it seems so... :(So I suppose season 2 not gonna have subs neither...
It's not only busy at the moment but also way too hot to just sit in front of the PC or TV with no AC to concentrate on watching a drama or movie.
I definitely wait to watch something until it's completed, not only because I'll never know if that happens, but also because I usually watch an episode or two per day when I'm in the mood, not when a new episode comes out.
I haven't seen many Yorudoras, just Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna, Watashi no Ichiban Saiakuna Tomodachi and VR Ojisan no Hatsukoi I think. But there are some still on my plan to watch list that sound interesting and I haven't even looked at the new ones from this year yet because they weren't reguarly subbed before. Need to catch up on that aswell it seems.
I don't know if GeGeGe no Nyobo was objectively bad because it was pretty successful when it aired I think, but I just hate these "I'm a good wife with no opinions of my own who always apologizes to everyone because my husband is a scumbag" stories.
Somehow I have almost every drama with Mikami Ai on my plan to watch but so far only managed to watch one of them (Haru ni Nattara), so I haven't really formed an opinion about her yet. About Kawai Yumi, I don't know if NHK would cast someone who played mainly late night drama characters and even had nude scenes in a movie as an Asadora heroine, so I'm not sure how high my hopes are for her.
It also says it in her bio here actually, without any proof/context. All this "every second Thai actress is LGBT" without proof (no, someone going to an all-girls school and having a crush on a senior doesn't count) really gets on my nerves to be honest.

I don't know why I didn't get a notification, you even tagged me.
Well, besides that, I also like Imada Mio, I hoped Kawai Yuumi would get to be an Asadora heroine, but Imada Mio is nice aswell. I just hope it's not a second Gegege no Nyobo. That's the absolute worst Asadora in existence (or at least I've watched so far). It basically traumatized me when it comes to Asadora about "a wife of...". I really need to catch up on my Asadoras, I haven't watched any for a year or so and, I think, Okaeri Mone is the newest I've seen.
If you don't have the app already and accumulated some points to skip the ads, then it's not worth it. The story is ok, but if I need to watch an ad that's as long as the episode itself between almost every episode and then need to take a 24 hour break after every 5th I kind of lose focus and motivation to care much about it. The fact that it's only available on smartphone and there's no possibility to watch it on any other device makes the whole ordeal even worse. Drama itself 6/10, watch experience 0.5/10.
This was the most random drama I watched in a long time. It seemed like ~50 "case of the week" episodes á 10 minutes rather than a completely coherent series. Sure, it followed a main story, but everytime I thought "oh, here's comes a big conflict" it basically solved itself almost immediately. I mean, I'm all for a harmonious stories and all, but then you could have made it a light-hearted romcom instead of a story with 100 problems that weren't problems at all at the end of the day. Story and execution wise probably the weakest Thai GL so far (MelindaBrooks' review is basically my opinion aswell), the only thing I really liked about it was the side couple and the grandparents.
They're cute and have chemistry, but the series is like if they filmed a lot of different scenes for every episode and then just threw them in the air and cut them together in the order they fell. One scene they're smooching each others faces and are lovey dovey while 10 seconds later they start at 0 again and act surprised if one character flirts with the other. It's cute nonetheless, even if it gives off serious amateur college filmclub vibes.
I could copypaste my comment from "Catch Cat Crush", but this one was at least a bit better. Acting still super shaky, chemistry not really existent and the production is still hurting my eyes, as in almost every other H'our series. It seems like they found their "young energetic girl annoys the older girl next door" niche. Unfortunately it still looks like a middle school girl is crushing on her older sister's college friend and the story was like one second they tease each other, the next one hates the other, the next they are laughing together and find each other cute. I definitely prefer H'ou's other couple's dramas, like "Now It's My Turn". Even if their acting is super shaky aswell, they at least have chemistry together.
Really enjoyable drama about self-discovery, but the young rich guy is such a red flag... constantly stalking her at her job, always dragging her along even though she didn't give him an answer (yet), even going so far as to invite himself when she wants to visit her family in another prefecture. He was an absolute out for me, especially because it's kind of romantacized and she's like "he never oversteps boundaries". And all that while she thinks she has a stalker that turns out to be just a misunderstanding. Overall I liked it, even though I prefered the jouney more than the very luke warm destination.
The Japanese word "事件" (jiken) means incident or "(police) case". Basically "crime that's yet to be solved". Most subbers always translate it with incident.
Sadly yes, it seems so... :(So I suppose season 2 not gonna have subs neither...
Yeah, I was pretty convinced you know who I was talking about. They're pretty infamous with other subbers aswell because they announce 3 different dramas per season as soon as they're official so no one else will pick them up and then drop two along the way sometimes. But the whole "someone already announced it, so I won't do it" mindset is pretty dumb anyways. Why wouldn't another subber pick up a drama if they're super interested in it even though someone else already announced it. Really elevates the quality if you ask me. The anime scene really flourished when that was still a thing there, before everyone just stopped making them altogether and started using slop streaming service subs for their releases instead.
Oh, I haven't even looked at Anpan yet. Usually I wait 6 - 12 months before I check if someone subbed a new Asadora. Especially with stories that are set before the 1980s, because they aren't really my thing anyways. They're someone reliable, but on the side of "I don't want anyone to use my subs, even on private sites". Unfortunately there are so many problems with hardcoded videos that it's definitely more of a detriment than a good thing. But Irozuku definitely earn the money they make with their patreon because their subs are usually very high quality and will always be completed, so that's a big plus. People from the future just have to hope someone with an abundance of space on their PC will store them if a scenario like that happens or someone who paid for them is still around and wants to share. Put the post in a spoiler because it was pretty long and didn't want to clog the comment section even more ;)
There's no need for streaming sites if the whole drama is for free with subs on Youtube. Support the official channels of the production companies so we maybe get better production value and more/longer episodes next time instead of throwing your money at sites who steal content/subs just to make money off of it themselves.

Aww, sorry to disappoint, it's just a variation of my irl nickname a chronically online friend of mine gave me years ago.
On topic: Asadoras are really bad aswell. Some people sub 2 or 3 weeks and then discontinue it without a word. There's a particular fansubber who did this a few years back and it's been, I think, 4 years now without any update on 3 or 4 Asadoras while they continue to sub multiple dramas per season and ignore everyone who asks about tha Asadoras (at least one of them got finished by someone else luckily). But there are several other Asadoras who got started and then discontinued and forgotten. And of course, I understand if someone drops a drama, even if they just don't like it... what I don't understand is why people drop something because it's "too much work", I'd think it's common sense how much time and effort you'd need to put into subbing 130+ episodes or even 10 50 minute episodes before you start. And I don't think it'll hurt anyone if it's communicated that the project is dropped, at least then people know they can give up waiting.

I love JDramas and the JDrama scene and I absolutely 100% appreciate every fansubber out there, but... why is it that an older JDrama that's not subbed has at least a 5% chance of still getting subs in the future... but the chance of someone completing a dropped/unfinished drama is basically 0? This unwillingness to compromise is really unbearable sometimes. I probably deleted about 30 dropped JDramas from my PTW list just a few weeks ago because they don't have a chance of ever being completed.
"... he meets Asahi, an older woman...", she's 29 and doesn't look it. I don't think I'll watch this drama, but I'm intrigued how they make that work, if it's not just poorly worded in the synopsis.
It's a shoujo manga adaption, so I don't think there'll be an international release and I don't think any streaming platform will pick it up in the foreseeable future (except maybe Viki, don't know if they have movies in their library).
