My first kdramas consisted of Full House, Coffee Prince, My Girl, My Lovely Sam Soon, You’re Beautiful, Goong etc. I am pretty sure that was over 15 years ago. Lovely Runner is the best rom-com kdrama I ever watched! I’ve seen a lot. And I am totally aging myself too. The key word here is 'romantic-comedy', the genre matters. It reignited my love for kdramas again. I think many were echoing this as well.
I do this thing now where I put Lovely Runner in the background while I do menial tasks. But then I get distracted and end up giving LR my undivided attention 🥺
The vermin in the show need to meet their demise. I need it to be satisfactory. Only 12 episodes left, I really hope they don’t rush it. All the villains are still running rampant. One by one they need to go down, it’s about time. I am getting restless.

Haha same! I rate dramas based on ✨vibes✨ I read a lot on the side so I leave most of my critiquing to books 😅 But even then, at times, it’s all about the feels, “Did I binge? How’s my heart?, Did I fall in love with the characters?” Sometimes, it’s that easy.
Re-watching episode 14 (of course I am) and it has some of my favourite subtle moments ✨
(i) Seon Jae saying, “It’s so ridiculous that it’s driving me crazy” with a scoff after the year of the horse/fish at the grocery store/fate convo at the hotel lobby. (ii) Seon Jae hiding his smile when Sol’s mom suggests treating him to a cup of tea. (iii) Seon Jae seeing Sol at the ferris wheel platform waiting to get on after the college-era flashback at the amusement park. (iv) “Is this funny to you?” and Seon Jae falling in love again 🥺
Did we really need to bring the two step sisters back? Because stepmother, psycho princess and her band of thugs…

For sure! I’d say the nonsensical plots + filler episodes were way worse back in the day. We used to give so much grace. Like you said, this evoked the excitement and emotion that came with starting a romance drama back in the day. I was feeling so much nostalgia.

tbh I’d also say that if you’re an old-time kdrama watcher, you’d love it more. I think for many of us, it brought us back to when we first started watching kdramas 10-15+ years ago. It reignited my love for kdramas again. I think many were echoing this sentiment too

I pretty much coerced her into watching it 😆 I told her LR was giving old school vibes and it would feel nostalgic. I had to sit and watch with her so she'd actually start! My bestie promised to watch LR when she got back from her trip. She delivered!! We only got to watch episode 1 and a bit of episode 2 together over the weekend. But I made her promise to finish at least episode 2 before calling it quits. She calls me just now over my lunch break to tell me that she partially blames me for adding to her jetlag (she just got back from Japan) and how she’s already on episode 9 🥺 Mission accomplished! I feel ecstatic. I love getting random texts about Sun Jae and Sol-a 💛💙
