every time i hear the OST by taehyung, i get in my feels. thanks tae for releasing one of the best OSTs in the kdrama world. he also released sweet night for itaewon class and it's funny how kim dami is in both the shows!
sooooo he was in parasite and train to busan?! he's literally in like the most internationally popular korean movies..... and now he's killing it in OBS.
i actually really liked this show even tho most of the contestants were very unlikable except yeawon and hyeonjoong. i found jia very unlikable and unreliable. she was bad to hyeonjoong and also the two other guys. she pretended to be interested in them and then chose someone else. at least, sehoon rejected soyeon at the right time even tho he was aggressive which i didn't appreciate but still, he was better than jia. i don't really care about sihun but at least hyeonseong could've been with yeawon if she just told him to try talking to other people. i honestly don't get why people are defending her here when she's such a toxic person. i bet no one would be defending her if she wasn't pretty...
you know what i want?? a red thread/soulmate plot with dohyun and minsi. they meet irl and hate each other and then they dream about their past lives. soooo basically in YOM they fell in love cause they wanted to and in this new story, they're like... "REALLY, HER?"/ "REALLY, HIM?" cause they really dislike each other but can't stay away from each other. an enemies to lovers trope plus the soulmate trope. dohyun's character is basically him in 18 again and minsi's character is her in sweet home. it's a recipe for disaster and chaos. now that is something i'd pay money to watch and i really don't have any money so u know i really want this..........
is this show really good? i've never watched a historical kdrama before but everyone recently has been recommending it to me and idk if i'll like it cause historical kdramas aren't really my jam...
a solid 10/10 for me. i would describe this show as interesting, engaging, exciting and thought provoking. the acting is great! kim soohyun is so amazing as kim hyunsoo.... and cha seung won as lawyer shin joong han is incredible! both of these actors carried this show on their back. looking back on it, kim soohyun didn't have a lot of dialogues but he really conveyed what hyunsoo was feeling with his body language and expressions. i really hope there is a season 2 which explores our next case with the same lawyer and that girl in the end and also maybe how hyunsoo is adjusting to his new life.
because we didn't get a new episode today, i'm just gonna list a bunch of reasons why i ~absolutely~ loved ep 9 (even tho some people seem to dislike it):
no dramatic breakup after their friends finding out. i would've expected this to happen in any other bl. the fact that pat offers to post THAT on his social media proves that he's selfless. both him and pran chose to face their problem together.
korn (do i need to say more?)
the whole inkpa interaction. the way pa says she'd date anyone taller than her and then immediately steps down and looks at ink. amazing scene!
director aof loves a good massage scene................ and so do we ;)
at this point, i just find it funny that people just go to the bar wai works at and bug him.
korn............ mayhaps DOES like a guy from architecture. do y'all hear sum?
making fun of the 'i don't like men. i just like you' line in bls and FINALLY talking about how absurd the husband- wife thing is. pat was just looking for a cute petname but most bl guys definitely do this to feel superior. BUT umm pat can't relate. LOVE THAT FOR US.
finally, i love how emotionally mature both the leads are. no stupid misunderstandings, no miscommunication, no lies. this is actually a very realistic representation of a relationship, not just in bl world but in general. the name's bad buddy but there's nothing bad about it.
the end was satisfying. because the episodes were short, some things didn't get tied up that well- especially the relationship between haneul and ho in. the thing between jin sung and aejin also didn't make much sense because to me it felt like aejin enjoyed being with ho in more. they did really good with the characters and plots although none of the relationships intrigued me much. i'm glad more time was spent on the actual plot instead of the relationships. in conclusion, i really enjoyed watching this show.
