As a huge fan of MBFB and One Life, One Incarnation – Beautiful Bones as one of my favorite novels, I am excited about this show. But then, I see the sequel and saw that they cast the same actor. I have a bit of a mixed feeling for that as Zhousheng Chen was described as having an 'ordinary' appearance, completely opposite to the valiant and handsome general he was. Because the point of the story was, despite looking different, Shiyi was able to recognize him and loved him just as the same.

But still, I'm excited that one of my fave MBFB books is on the small screen.

Can I expect an adaptation of "The Healing Sunshine" soon?

I had to grit my teeth to finish this drama only because of Gong Jun. By this comment alone, you should be prepared if you still want to defy the force of those stopping you to still go on.

I dropped TT S2 but I stumbled upon this. True enough, I am such a superficial woman (evil laugh). Really, the chemistry of these two is explosive. I have never seen such well-matched beautiful BL OTP like this. Goshhhh! I now have a hugeeee crush on Ja!
On You Are My Glory Aug 4, 2021
I still can't stop gushing over YY and Dili. As the host said in episode 13, I am also superficial and so having two of the most beautiful faces in the Chinese entertainment industry in one frame is enough to make my giddy heart burst!!!

I still rate this 10 for its marvelous storytelling, gorgeous cinematography, top-notch acting, great soundtrack, and excellent directing, despite skipping 10+ episodes after 22. When I saw the foreshadowing arrest of YJ for the third time, I decided I should not torture myself again so I skipped to the last two episodes. Man, the people in this show truly did not have it good. We all get to that crossroads when we have to make difficult decisions. People do bad things when cornered and got no place else to go. I should not judge any of the villains as I'm not sure if I can keep my morals and humanity if I was in their place.

Verdict, this is a well-done crime drama. I just wished it was a bit shorter.

I rate this 9 solely because of MarkxKit. I would have rated it 10 if it's just the two of them but they had to have this trash drama of WayuxThanuxPha and caught up in the storm, Phai. Mark and Kit were simply wonderful. Their chemistry was over the roof, and oh, those gazes from Mark when he looks at Kit, I soooo want it from my man.

That destiny thing was honestly shit. I mean what was the point of it all? omg, I don't want to say anymore because I have been shaking with rage everytime they show Thanu with his helpless doe eyes as if the world has wronged him when he was the one almost straddling two boats. Please note, I did say almost. Phai was the most pitiful of all. I wish he will not succumb to his shitty "destiny" and continue to make choices of his own.

Your comments just bring back all memories while watching this drama and I'm in tears oh god. Qing mu and his…
Qingmo and Houchi truly are the heart of this show. I like them better than Bai Jue and Shanggu simply because Qingmo and Houchi did not have the burden of saving the entire realm on their shoulders. They were able to love each other freely without inhibitions. I understood Bai Jue's intentions when he cruelly rejected Houchi again and again regardless of having the memories of Qingmo. For Bai Jue, as a True God and as a man who wanted his woman safe, it was the best thing he could do. It was truly unfortunate, yes, but I am not holding it against him. Still, it was too heartbreaking to watch him hurt both Houchi and Shanggu while he's probably hurting more by doing so.

My thoughts on Iksun and Junwan oppa:

This episode is particularly heartbreaking. My heart stopped for a second the moment Iksun told Junwan about falling for someone else. At that moment, I truly hated her and pitied Junwan. Junwan deserved someone better. That's what I've always thought.

Here's why:

1. Iksun left to study abroad despite just starting a relationship with Junwan at that time.
I've thought about it. Iksun made the right decision here. First of all, her plans to study abroad was
set even before she got together with Junwan. For a woman to give up her dreams for a relationship,
is it worth it? I don't think so. So despite what I initially thought that Iksun was a bit selfish at that
time, it was the right thing for her to do.

2. Couple rings.
Iksun agreed to wear the couple ring but the parcel got sent back. Was it a coincidence? To be
honest, I've had my doubts. But when I look back at how Iksun has been projected the whole
season 1, she's a very straightforward woman. She's not someone who would say something and
then turn around and do the opposite. So I think, it was really sent back for the reason she said why.

But now, if I go back and digest Iksun and Junwan, I cannot really blame Iksun for putting herself first. If I was a woman in a relationship, I will put myself first for sure. For Iksun, she's been through shit from her last relationship. She opened up and started to believe in love again because it's Junwan oppa. She gave herself a chance, and love a chance. Junwan is a tsundere. He's often described as selfish by his colleagues, but he's the most considerate boyfriend to Iksun. The difference between him and Iksun was he put Iksun first. But that was because that was his choice. And he's the kind of man who does not expect his woman to treat him the same.

I have no doubt that Iksun truly loved Junwan. I initially believed when she told Junwan she fell for someone else because as direct as she is, she would definitely tell Junwan that if it was true. Shedding tears while telling Junwan that, I thought it was her guilt because Junwan was nothing but lovely...but then the situation at the end changes everything.

I don't want them to break up. Iksun finally found someone who sincerely loves her and I think she does deserve that love.

And more so for Junwan oppa. After being in a relationship many times, he found the love he's willing to keep with Iksun.

They both deserve to keep this love.

Please, don't let it waste away.

It was so much fun in the beginning. I wonder when did things start to go wrong (sigh).
It was not as impactful as Go Go Squid. I think it was to be expected I guess because even in the novel, I had a hard time following through their story. Not unlike Tong Nian and Han Shangyan, it was straightforward, sweet, and full of fluff.

First of all, I was not happy that they changed a lot of things. The game which was supposed to be a CTF changed into a very uninteresting robotics game.

Then the K&K base. They changed it into a more high-end facility, but the change was too much and I just could not feel the same warmth I felt with GGS.

The actors. I guess I was not too bothered by it, except Grunt. I don't have any problem with Wang An Yu playing Grunt. I think aesthetics-wise, he fits more than Joseph Wen, because after all, Grunt in the novel was as fair as a lady with an exceptionally pretty face. But why was the signature eyeglasses missing though? Just why?

It was a nice watch, but not as good.

I am amazed by how good the CGI is. The scenery is one of the best I've seen so far, plus the gorgeous dresses. The creators of this show were not sloppy at all. Plus we have a very charismatic ML and a spoiled but adorable goddess as FL. Every episode is packed with action and full of emotion. The tragedy was heartbreaking and I felt that it was just the beginning. I am looking forward to what will come next.

I am shaking! I only found this now after I just finished the last episode of NIF1 for my 5th complete rewatch (without skipping any scenes). That time when Linshu and Nihuang parted on that hill and promised that they would live their lives peacefully in their next life, and I remember the last scene of NIF2 when Pingjing and Linxi went off riding to the sunset together. I suddenly had enlightenment. A lot of people thought of it, but the possibility would be slim. But I strongly believe now that PJ and LX were LS and NH's "next life". It might not be what the writers intended, but for my heart to settle down, I choose to believe this as the truth.

For some reason, the whole doom and redemption thing does not appeal to me at all. I have tried to watch the main OTP but alas, just not feeling them. I am more interested in Joo ik and Na Ji Na. I wish Joo ik had more screen time.
