I don’t think it’s surprising, but that does not stop it from being disappointing.

I don’t normally pay attention to offscreen stuff, but because people have been constantly commenting on behind the scenes stuff in this page, I want to chime in.

Firstly, the copium and jealousy about the second couple getting events is off the charts. Subjective opinion … I don’t care about or watch off screen stuff (which actors are aware of being captured anyway and they fully ham it for the cam), but onscreen I slightly preferred the second couple and many other people did too (though I really liked the first couple as well). So it’s not surprising at all that a lot of people want to see them.

Also, it’s funny how fans always cope using the “banned from appearing together” reasoning instead of the simpler reason that the actors just don’t want to. This is a project for them which has finished. Not every actor will endlessly promote the same project. Not every actor is interested in making money from fanmeets. So why should they continue to hang out together with their colleague endlessly? The ones who want to do, like the guys from Stay With Me for eg, but the majority of actors want to move onto their next projects, as normal.

Miss the Doc and Chengyu already, was just rewatching some of their highlights, and their relationship unfolds so beautifully 😭

The show kept it ambiguous on purpose (the book is much more poly between the core 4), but the way I interpret their relationship is that they are best friend soulmates who have no boundaries between each other. They do have sexual chemistry, but the best way they can love each other, now that they have met their romantic soulmates, is to be very close best friends.

Lbr, even in the series, there is some form of attraction between all combinations of the core 4, except maybe WSW and Guo Chengyu. Some fans want to keep it “pure” and wanna deny it, but like cmon lol. The scenes (Doc admiring WSW’s body, Chi Cheng propositioning Doc multiple times, Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu dynamic, etc) are there in the show for a reason.

I agree, that was irredeemable and out of place. I ignore that it happened, because it doesn’t fit into the rest of the show. Chi Cheng (and Guo Chengyu) is a dark character, but that action is too much even for him and he doesn’t do anything close to it the rest of the show.

Wang Shuo, CC and GCY were close friends in college and whether some like it or not, WS is always going to be significant in their lives. CC doesn’t love him anymore but the past is not meaningless. Hell, even GCY follows him the moment he sees him and even gives him XS’s address. They may not like him all the time but they still care about him.

Also, Wang Shuo is frenemies with WSW and gets along well with XS. Plus his “bro” is WSW’s idol lol.

Pretty sure he’s always going to be in their lives as close frenemies.

Chi Cheng stays aura farming to the end lol.

I love how much he and WSW love each other and in the right way that both of them need. Playful and bickering and and each other’s family 😭

I love how everytime Guo Chengyu talks to XiaoShuai, he holds his hands in both of his and bends down to look him in the eyes. He’s just so sincere and tender with him! And they’re getting married! 😭

Is Tuo manipulative and obsessive and way too possessive? Yes.

Am I enjoying the dynamic anyway, due to it being a work of fiction? Yes!

Old school yaoi obsessive semes never really go out of style.

I think Junxi didn’t realize the full truth at that point, which is why he was smiling. But yeah, I don’t think he’ll mind. He clearly likes Tuo being obsessed and forceful with him.

Of course this doesn’t work in real life, but in bl they always pair these deeply possessive characters with partners who actually like that aspect. Like in DBK, Kao says he’s afraid of the day Pete stops being possessive and jealous over him.

Overall: extremely entertaining and enjoyable. I love that the story kept on moving and never dragged, the characters were flawed but endearing, and that the plot points tied together and made sense.

The tax evasion arc was not very good though and the last episode was too short, it could’ve been better and fluffier. Needed more scenes of the core 4 together.

The acting was very good from everyone and the actors really suited their roles. I liked every character, (yes even Wang Shuo idgaf, he’s pretty and cute, he just needs to be handled carefully lol) except YueYue probably. My fave is XiaoShuai though, the actor is effortlessly cute and the character is the best ❤️

I hope we get the “First love vs last love” conversation between GCY and XS please please !!! 😩

It’s better than last twilight, till now at least. Last twilight was kind of slow and many people were disappointed with the ending.

Meh, there are some good moments but overall, this jail arc is stretched out too much. CC should’ve been released today and we could’ve gotten the last episode as pure fluff.

They should’ve adapted more Chengyu and XiaoShuai moments if they are running out of story.

I like Wang Shuo and I hope he and Wang Zhen are happy together, idgaf

I didn’t like Jojo’s last show at all. Not only the story, but even the technical aspects like the cinematography, framing etc was weak in THK.

I know Jojo can do much much better, so I hope he brings his A game to this show. Get back to the 3 will be free, mama go go, warp effect, friend zone vibes.

This is really really good, I was smiling so much while watching it. Typically these types of “getting to know each other” episodes can be slow or repetitive sometimes, but not here! These two have really good banter and chemistry. Sea’s breakdown scene was awesome.

Just a really good and enjoyable series so far. I hope to see more of the investigation aspect and the second couple.

XS was trying to get CC and WSW laid, not the opposite
