The cliffhanger ending! Ahhh!! Don’t tell me we are getting only one episode this week?! Why?!!
This show is anyways a bit complex in terms of the relationship dynamics and character inner thoughts. They don’t say what they mean, you have to infer from actions and expressions. Then the show makes it even more complex with the confusing editing!
So both WenXi and LQ are both getting engaged to girls? I thought Luxin was the illegitimate daughter of the father Bei, but she’s the daughter of the LQ’s mother? And the mother left her with her legitimate husband while taking her son with her to another city while they were growing up? Does that make sense lol
So XF seduced LQ that evening to stage the scene with the family I suppose? Or to get his trade secrets to sell to WenXi? And why is WenXi not collaborating with LQ when it’s not like he wants to sabotage him? The reason didn’t quite make sense.
Eta: oh I just saw episode 12 preview, yeah so XF did set it up and admits it. He finally had enough at the engagement talk lmao. And he wants to end this limbo, one way or another. Either end their relationship, or start on a clean slate.
I can’t stop thinking about how much Xiaofan is carrying right now. His brother works at the brokerage, knows…
Yep, I agree that XF wants a clean slate between LQ and him, for better or for worse. Either they end things as they stand right now, or they begin their relationship on a fresh page, without the prior tangles marring their lives.
It’s not only that XF wants LQ to choose him without any excuses, he also wants to be able to choose LQ freely. We know XF wants LQ, yes of course he does, but their relationship has always been coercive and unequal. If XF cuts the tie thoroughly, they can come together again on a more equal footing.
Your definition of awkward and “pissed off” is a little strange lol 😂 they were neither during that scene,…
It was to me. They looked irritated at the eye contact. The cigarette scene was clearly there to throw shippers their bromance crumbs, but because their chemistry is not romantic in the least, the gesture just looked awkward.
I feel like I’m being gaslighted by the fans of this show and this duo …. Like I watched the cigarette lighting scene and it felt so awkward! Both of them, especially Tee look pissed off at the eye contact at the end.
This “bromance” feels so forced fr. SkyNani blew up organically through HSF, not every duo can be a bromance. Mind you, I am someone who likes bromance ships. Like Merlin/Arthur, Buck/Eddie, etc are some of my top ships. I loved HSF and shows like Beyond Evil, Strangers from Hell. So yeah, I want to enjoy this show. But the writing is off and the gestures to force that bromantic chemistry look so off putting.
A lovely little adult romcom, raunchy and sweet. There isn’t much plot, it’s more slice of life, but the characterisation is extremely strong. Toto and Kanit, as well as the supporting characters all feel like real people.
If you liked Mama Gogo, you will like this. It probably has less ridiculous elements than Mama gogo. This show was clearly made for Thai audiences, as was evident from the pilot trailer itself.
The MVP of this series is undoubtedly TayNew and their chemistry. They sparkle and sizzle, and their domesticity is unmatched. They are just extremely comfortable with each other and it shows onscreen. Amazing actors with great screen presence, natural chemistry, and the ability to play different types of characters with ease.
If I were a TayNew fan, I would be mad at this director and the writers for absolutely ruining and butchering…
Literally the only forum where I am seeing this complaint about dialogue, lmao. Everywhere else, the dialogues and the characterisation is called out as the strongest points of this show. Just goes to show how much international audiences don’t understand Thai focused comedy.
Ongsa is just stunning, the way he’s able to use his eyes in his acting is marvellous. He truly sells the love story very well. Inn is very good as well, BUT (and I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion) I dunno why I felt his desperation and despair even more in the Wicked Game?! The dynamic was somewhat similar, lowly servant/bodyguard in love with the master, and obviously his scenes in that show were much fewer, but the crumbs were so delicious.
This is what happens when two taciturn people fall in love. You need to learn how to express yourselves! The other person can’t always read your mind and heart!
Anyway, they are making progress. XF is actually talking back to his family and doesn’t accept everything meekly. LQ is learning that he has to open his mouth and speak.
XF has too little self esteem. LQ, possessing the privileges of birth, talent, and appearance, has too much pride. They both need to meet in the middle. The show is doing a good job depicting their character journeys.
I loved watching this series so so much! The characterisation is amazingly strong. Each character is well defined, even the minor ones. Each has distinctive characteristics and motivations, that’s is why the dynamics work so well. Jay and Sun have such an unique and intense dynamic. Neither are regular people, both have traumas they are trying to overcome, but they find what they need in each other. Sun needed someone persistent enough to break down his barriers and Jay needed someone intriguing enough to challenge him.
The setting of the show is unique and interesting. The dynamic of Sun, Sky and Kajorn is fantastic. And yes, Sky and Pakin have a palpable connection which has so much potential to explore.
Now for the things which could’ve been done better, which is the revenge plot. It was rushed, anticlimactic and didn’t make much sense. I wish they had a few more episodes to plot that out better.
The violence was also a bit over the top. In the end, is Bank doing porn to pay off the debtor gangster? Does he have debts again? I didn’t quite understand what happened there.
I hope people don’t expect this to be an actual series with a well thought plotline. Like, this was clearly intended to be a fanservice special from the start.
So TayNew are too in love from the beginning to play TheePeach at the start, Sea is not effusive enough in receiving Thee’s confession, Junior doesnt interpret Thee correctly, Book catches a stray due to Peach, and TawanAran are not ridiculous enough 🤣
Would it have been better for XF’s personal development if he were to be free of the Beis and specifically LBQ? Maybe, but it definitely wouldn’t make him happier, as seen by his demeanour throughout these last couple of episodes.
He gets his first taste of self esteem by being useful to LQ. Now is it healthy to be so wrapped up in somebody else’s life? Not really, but for XF whose life was so dominated by his own family, being under LQ was actually better for him.
And let’s not forget that the main catalyst for his running away was that he was distraught at LQ’s relationship with his “childhood love”. If the dinner scene didn’t happen, then even with all the fight between Luxin and his family, he wouldn’t have distanced himself so hard.
The fact of the matter is, XF likes submitting to LQ. He just needs reassurance that his place in LQ’s life is stable, then he’ll happily submit forever.
I like this show, the dynamic is not so cliched and the setting, cinematography etc is nice to watch.
Unfortunately no Y series had a solid revenge plot yet
Wicked game was a complete mess. He didn’t even get any revenge, the main villain character (his dad) died by accident. The other villain character (the sister) was killed by someone else.
I like their dynamic a lot. Reminds me a bit of Secret Lover, with a super thirsty, long time pining seme, who actually talks about how thirsty he is. In Thai bl for example, there’s a lot of NC scenes, but the characters don’t often say out loud how horny they are. They just go directly to consummation, but communication of desperate want is sexy.

After a long time, I am enjoying Japanese bls, both this and servant prince. Funny and entertaining.

The cameos were hilarious, ngl
