Pond and Phuwin are pitch perfect as their characters. I love that Thee’s character is amusing yet not a caricature, he has his serious moments to balance it out. Phuwin plays Peach with such sensitivity, the heartfelt moments hit so well! His character is not flashy as Thee but Phuwin portrays the emotional journey perfectly. Kudos to him.

This series is such a success and the leads deserve all the accolades they are getting. Their chemistry is sweet and sensual and perfectly romantic.

Tawan and Aran’s relationship is realistic since there are plenty of irl relationships which are baseline toxic in nature. Tawan did not receive adequate reprisal for his actions which is also very true to life, heart trumps brains fo plenty of folks. Approaching art as a guideline and expecting every “bad” character to get “bad” consequences is a very simplistic way to consume art. This show is not intended to be a moral fable, if that’s your expectation coming into the BL genre, you are going to be disappointed time and again.

No it does not weaken the story at all. A toxic subplot is just that, a toxic subplot. There is no requirement in art that the audience needs to be spoon fed that toxicity is bad. Art is not meant to be a guideline or preachy all the time. Media comprehension requires people to make inferences based on context clues, such as contrasting Tawan and Aran’s unhealthy relationship with TheePeach who are a super healthy and loving relationship.

And objectively speaking, the recent Japanese bls have had extremely dull plots (repetitive meandering story and bland dialogue) and bad acting (stiff body language, caricaturish expressions). That’s not my subjective opinion regarding my enjoyment, it’s objective based on story telling standards.

Did you watch this show only for the PerthSanta arc, which is a tiny cameo? Trying to understand why you think that this show and the writing team has an obligation to show a healthy relationship, yet you ignore the central relationship which is 100% healthy, to highlight your critique towards a relationship which receives maybe 1% screentime in the entire series?

Do you think young people are incapable of understanding that toxic relationships do exist in real life and when presented with the contrast of a positive, loving relationship, they are unable to make the distinction? Do you think depiction in fiction is endorsement?

Much of those types of comments are based on fanwars and the critique is not based in good faith. This show is such a phenomenon and the leads are getting so much praise that it’s really getting on some fans’ nerves. So yeah, explanations won’t really matter to these people.

This mos information about engagement needs to stop honestly. Engagement might matter for brands, it does not matter for the shows and series. Gmmtv gives series to all its pairs, whether they bring in engagement or not. The metrics matters for brand and as viewers, we have no obligation to care about brands. Also, most gmmtv actors are pretty standard, I disagree with viewers who like to punch up at gmmtv because it’s a big company. Tee however is weak.

Also, the engagement might be high for the Dew and Tee ship because delusional shippers are obsessed with actors personal lives, and these kinds of fans are the worst of the lot and should not be encouraged at all.

Such a sad state of the entertainment industry, honestly.

I’ve only watched half but couldn’t help commenting, holy shit the acting disparity between Perth and Tee!! I know gmmtv is doing a bromance show with Dew and Tee and that’s why they have to give Tee some roles to boost his resume but his scene was so amateurish and shallow in comparison to the intensity of Perth.

Eta: and now I watched his scene with Pond and once again, the intensity that Pond brings vs Tee is just drastically different.Pond is full on scary mafia boss , he did so well. tee on the other hand might have not stood out so much for less dramatic scenes, but he clearly can’t deal with the material he was given.

This is why this bl ship and bromance ship nonsense is so ridiculous and why Thai dramas need to escape that cycle to reach the next artistic level. Otherwise, a few scenes like these stand out as low quality. No justification of Tee being a lead with acting quality like that.
