I am not criticising the drama, just sharing information. No need to get defensive, this person asked a question and I provided an answer. If someone wants to know how well it's doing, I answered based on facts, and Maoyan and Yunhe track two different metrics. Both are important, neither is more important than the other. There is no brainwashing, just providing facts and information and context. Thats what mdl is for, it's not just for blind support of a drama. I never said yunhe or Maoyan is better, both are important, neither is better than the other. Moonlit is doing very well, as I have said in other comments. I was simply answering the users questions. MDL is for discussion, not just for blinding supporting a drama.

And you're right they both measure different things so it just depends on what's important to you really, toping Maoyan is very good and my original post wasn't meant as criticism for the drama just wanted to provide some context and information. No problem and yeh you're right heat index only counts for mainland china, those using the tencent website/app. Honestly 26k heat index after 2 days is very good, very similar pace to prisoner of beauty and the glory which both reached 30k (only 2 drama's this year to do so), so if all goes well this should as well!

I think right now a combination of it being new, yunhe normally rises as the show goes on and also thriving land is taking a lot of viewership, it's been a surprise mega hit. Once that ends not he 23rd, we'll see numbers go up across the board.

For context on yunhe highest drama daily views on the 18th was thriving land with 87million and a market share one 37%, thats online only not tv. Moonlit was at 11 million with 4% market share, for its budget and where it should be, its not good, but thats not the shows fault, honestly thriving land is just a huge hit no one saw coming. In comparison When destiny brings the demon is at 18 million views 7% market share, and thats been airing longer. Normally, these stats go up as the show airs. A high Maoyan ranking doesn't mean viewers watch till the end as Maoyan is highly inlfuenced by things like social media buzz. I would agree that for this yunhe is better then kuyun, as there's no tv presence. When thriving land ends on the 23rd numbers wilily go up massively

Maoyan doesn't mean viewers are watching till the end, it measures viewership, but also social media buzz and things like that. It reflects social media popularity on site like doubin and Weibo which is good don't get me wrong, but does not mean viewers are watching til the end. Yunhe and kuyun don't just track how many people are clicking on it, they also track market share. You are right if a drama isn't trying on kuyun and yunhe means it hasn't reached a wide enough audience. Also Yunhe provides live tracking as the shows airs so also shows who is sticking with it and who is not. Again, neither is better than the other, they measure different metrics. All I'm providing is context, viewership and market share wise, moonlit reunion hasn't been as high as some people think. Hoping it will improve but it's unfortunate that it's airing at the same time as an unexpected mega hit thriving land (haven't seen it but viewership numbers are crazy). When thriving land airs on the 23rd, numbers will likely go up massively so looking forward to that

I thought I might just share some information. This isn't hate or criticism btw, but I see a lot of people asking about heat index, how well it's doing etc and wanted to provide some context and extra info. Yeh this show is doing very well on Maoyan charts, but Maoyan rates based on not just views but also social medial engagements, trending topics etc. It's more a rating about a shows social medial/trending status, as well as popularity.

This show isn't doing that well on Yunhe and Kuyun charts which tracks viewership numbers/smarket share only, and are used widely in the industry to determine a shows viewership success and market share. What this means is that while it's trending on social media and has hot topic searches etc, its viewership numbers/market share compared to other dramas airing aren't that great. This may be attributed to the bad global distribution by linmon, or thriving land being such an unexpected mega hit I don't know.

Again this isn't hate or meant as criticism, I'm really loving this drama so far, but thought I would share information on potentially why the heat index isn't rising as fast as some people think it should. The viewership numbers just aren't that great right now. However, I do hope they improve, this show deserves it.

Won't lie to you, doing well on Maoyan charts, topping number 1 both days, but not doing that well on Yunhe or Kuyun charts. Those charts track online playback views only, where as Maoyan is more a shows popularity including views but also social media engagements etc. So it's very good that this show tops Maoyan, but when looking at viewership online only, it's not doing too well in china I won't lie. This isn't hate, I love the show, but viewership numbers aren't that great right now.

In the novel they had an engagement since chapter 1 and marry in chapter 30ish so pretty early. ML was in love wither her from ages ago, she found him interesting and liked him so went along with the marriage. She fell in love with him slowly after marriage. However, the drama is completely different from the novel so as for what happens with their marriage in the drama, have to wait and see

Not complete fantasy, in the novel (which is only 50ish chapters mind you so super small), he is experimented on and gains powers through some kind of gu worm from a witch sect. I wouldn't say fantasy, most of it is grounded in reality, but there is this one fantasy element where he gains powers from the experiments and dealing with that gu worm.

I gotta say the ending fight in ep 6 when MZY was throwing out talismans to fight was so badass, looked so good

I'm so looking forward to express tomorrow, if not for anything else, just to see HRF suffer and then more sweet moments between HY and XJ

Hard to say, heat index normally the highest around the middle to end, so I think will be somewhere between 29-30k. Remember heat index only counts mainland china viewers on the china tencent app/website they don't count anything global

Yeh I agree he never like crossed the line, he knew his master committing treason and working with wutao was over the line, but I won't judge too early see what happens tomorrow
